Definitely. It's only in Nigeria that morality and the ethics of good journalism are thrown out of the window because of petty bribes. It's just surprising that Apc pays millions to keep these fraudulent papers quiet, but they are still paying the NL BMC 10,500 per month, less than minimum wage. Jubril must return to his pregnant cows in 2019. Nigerians have had enough. Almost everyone has #Atikulated. 201 Likes 13 Shares |

Lie Mohammed has successfully gagged our media of its independent reportage on the insurgency in the NE. In Nigeria, Only Premium Times reports about Boko Haram at least frequently... The rest na Reuters, BBC etc. News organizations like THE NATION, TVC never report breaking news on BH but only do it as an afterthought - after everyone don hear. 82 Likes 4 Shares |

Pdp think they have successfully captured the middle belt through herdsmen killings. Now they are channelling the resources to empowering boko haram in the north. Atiku is now a philanthropist on boko haram issue and an activist. It will not work because we all know who Atiku is 3 Likes 8 Shares

This theory of conspiracies must stop. First of all, the point of news is to publicize and create awareness about certain issues. One can't expect Nigerian news agencies to publicize the lost of Nigerian troops on a battle field as it will be helping our enemies to gain a psychological advantage over our military, it is the same reason why some terrorist groups release videos to show an act of defiance after suffering a defeat. it's about patriotism here. This is quite different from a bomb blast or an attack on the positions of civilians. This is about the psychology aspect of a war. The press in western countries do something similar during Wars Secondly, you should know by now that 95% of the news reported by the foreign media on Africa are negative news that paints the continent in a bad light. Only bad news about Africa sells in the western world. So you should expect the foreign media to even exaggerate the figures a bit just to get a story. 10 Likes 4 Shares |

I would say, yes! my cousin who has been fighting Boko Haram for 5 years, driving armored vehicles, recently lost his life to an IED, he was taken to the hospital alive but with shrapnel in his skull, he was not treated very well at the military hospital, no doctor to care, when he need the help and he passed on. Nothing have been said by government to honor his sacrifice. It is a shameful country, we live in. And he was the only son to his mother, it is just sad. 57 Likes 5 Shares |

OEPHIUS: Thanks for sharing But how will giving carnage front-page headlines help solve the problem? Let me give an example I hear the crime rate in the US is literally off the charts. However you would never guess that from their headlines. Meanwhile the kind of stuff that makes headlines here can be interesting. I remember seeing the headline of a major tabloid here during the week (not weekend) "Man runs mad in motor park" In all, we can focus on suggesting SOLUTIONS to the carnage caused by Boko Haram rather than fretting that their activities are not being broadcast for all to see... |

On one hand, the media silence stops the boko haram menace from getting any publicity and sympathy, and this allows the Nigerian Army to fizzle them out in silence. On the other hand The media silence Deprives the citizens from knowing the true situation of the fight againt the insurgency thereby making them assume that all is well. Its a two sided thing. 2 Likes |
