Wow. I never thought of this. That's a great possibility. Thank you for opening my eyes ma

If you give her the 'designer ogi' that's being paraded around these days , I won't be surprised if that is the culprit. most of these 'designer ogi' contain groundnuts, crayfish, soya beans and all sorts without any consideration for allergies in the baby/child.

parents should educate themselves on allergies as some allergic reactions can be very fatal.

for example, some kids react to nuts and this includes even coconut based products such as coconut oil that is used for the skin

Good evening mamas, please help me torchlight this matter abeg. I noticed that since I weaned my daughter, it's been from one rashes to another, we would used drugs and it will disappear only to appear again. We have used all sort (Agnesia, rising raving, tetmosol soap, Angy yo-yo, ABF, cacatin e. t. c) both prescribed and u prescribed. Am even tired, please help out.

PS: She is almost 17 months

My baby is 17 months old too, he had a very stubborn fungi rash in his inner tigh from september till last week when we finally conquered. These pink rashes would go after applying all these creams for like a day or 2 and come back while still using same cream cry . We had to stop wearing him diaper at home, he only wore panties, thinking it will go away if we air that area more, but for where. Last week, I saw a comment on baby center about reinfection from their clothes so the best way to kill this thing is to soak their clothes and cloth diapers (for the babies who use those) in bleach to kill the fungi and prevent reinfection, I didn't want to ruin my baby's coloured clothes with bleach, and i thought dettol antiseptic wouldn't do the job, so i thought of a harsh antiseptic, and Izal came to mind, soaked my sons clothes, bedsheets and towels in the solution for 12hrs, i burnt and threw away his panties, and started using the baby tribotan prescribed by the Dr. Best believe that since I took this step last week, that rash has not appeared again, not even a single 1. So what I'm trying to say is that the problem might lie in your baby's clothes.

My dd has been suffering this same rashes since she was 4 months old. After seeing a dermatologist we discovered she reacts to oats, groundnuts, soyabeans, coconut whatsoever, hollandia milk, some certain daipers etc
I was only assured She'll out grow the allergies by age 5 but however I should continue watching out for foods that trigger it.
Our dermatologist prescribed Mupirocin ointment and that's what soothes the itching till date. She's 2 years plus now
We have done away with nuts for now and the rashes only occur once in a long while
Pls see a skin Dr in UCH or where'er you wish
Those rashes are bitches mehn so frustrating
I pray she get over it soon

If that's the case spoon feed him. Express the milk or use formula. He needs to be hydrated with enough liquid this period. It's probably cold to be the cause. As one mama recommended putting drops of silver bird or the other on the cloth or pillow of your baby. This would help to clear the nostrils. Also do the sucking.. use your mouth and suck out the mucus to help clear the airways. That vitamin c works too.

It's well, your baby would be fine.

Amen, God bless you ma

Go to the hospital. I think it's a sign of malnutrition or infection.

Put a little water over it in a bowl and refrigerate or store in a room temperature but change the water everyday or after each use.

Does she hold things to stand even if her feet is not firmly planted? My Dd used to be like that although she crawled fine just that her feet would not be 100% on the floor and she did not walk on time. We saw an orthopaedic surgeon who recommended some sort of specialised shoe we had to buy from US but before we could even order for it she started walking perfectly and now I long for the days she was not walking. Lol. Anyways what I'm trying to say is see an orthopaedic surgeon for proper diagnosis

No, she doesn't hold tins to stand at all, we hv been referred to see a physiotherapist by our pead. Thanks

Good morning mamas, please my 2 weeks old daughter makes this catarrh sound when she’s breathing but she doesn’t have flu, it sounds like she has mucus inside but it isn’t coming out, don’t know if it’s normal.... also she finds it difficult to cry out, she just stretches and grunts when she wants to cry but doesn’t cry it out and when she eventually does, it’s not loud, is it something to be worried about? Please help

For the wheezing sound like she has catarrh you should see a doctor,it might be that she wasn't suctioned well or it might be flu.
About the crying,is that how she's always cried or it just changed? You may want to mention it to the doctor but from birth my baby's cries were like that such that if we weren't in the same room I wouldn't hear his cries. it's changed overtime though.

The cattahr sound is common with new born babies. Their noses are still a bit sfuffy and they cant breathe with their mouth yet, thats why you hear the sound. But take her to the hospital asap for the crying part, let them check to make sure her tongue isn't tied or whatever. Just ask the doctor or matron to check her tongue. The earlier it's detected, the easier it is to fix.

Scrub that part with your face sponge and then rinse with tepid water. Wipe your face dry with a towel and apply sivoderm.

Went to the hospital and doctor said she’s fine, he checked and said she doesn’t have cold and the sound is normal in newborn and will stop, he also said her crying is okay that she’s just a quiet baby and might change overtime.. thank you for all your replies!
