Can you expand your scientific study with this Kenya-Indian started MNC - WPP SCANGROUP - Biggest marketing group in Africa - and while at it - next time you see Nigeria ad - it probably was conceived at Nairobi - by a black kenyan.
http://www.wpp-scangroup.com/Board_directors.html

WPP-Scangroup is listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange. In terms of physical presence, the group has presence in 25 countries in Sub Saharan Africa. Yes, I really like the lady on the second pic

I like all the buildings but especially the first one.

Many mega projects in Africa are now being made by Chinese. . .to be honest, they are good at it. Are these buildings made by Kenyans?

What are the building restrictions in Kenya? Nairobi has great buildings as I've seen so far. . .You guys have done a great job considering the urban context. Your buildings tell that they were made by real Architects. Here in Addis, most of the buildings aren't made with the hands of an Architect but rather consultants. Hati13, have you noticed?

I think Kenyans has set rules on building construction and they are applying it properly. The same I have noticed with Tanzaina
I haven’t noticed (I’ve almost no idea about things related to building). Why is most of the buildings not being done by architects but consultants?

Random question..... I've heard you Ethiopians talk about architects and consultants as two different people very often. Who do you people consider a consultant? Here in Kenya, an architect is also a consultant. When building a major building, 5 consultants are involved. The Architect, The Structural Engineer, The Mechanical Engineer, The Electrical Engineer and The Quantity Surveyor. Why do you guys speak of the Architect and Consultant as if they're two different people?

You mean like in the pic below? Thats epic. Is it possible Menelik inspired it in gangsta hip hop artists like you find in 50 cent, 2 Pac n Ja Rule?

We dont have a national culture day, its only recently that the concept is starting to gain root. What we have are a series of cultural events from different communities that are celebrated at different times of the year.
Yes like the pic. It’s highly probable that Menelik II inspired the artists you listed to wear like that. I read somewhere that this fashion originated in Ethiopia.

Had you participated in those events? If so what did you dressed?

For illiterate bigots that litters this forum - here are Kenyan indians who are elected politicians. Diversity is a strength of a country. Not something to be ashamed of. Poverty is something to be ashamed of. Illiteracy & ignorance is shameful.

Kenya Members of Parliament - of Indian origin - elected by majority blacks.

@NairobiWalker

Any time you build a building, the 5 consultants you have mentioned are required. I don't mean to talk about these consultants

Here, there are so called 'consultants' who are just there who are educated mainly in civil engineering with very less architecture skills. @Hati13, there are many people who promote themselves posting on different building, promoting themselves as consultant. Keep looking, you will see their post. . .

THESE consultants are profitable because the client brought them a picture of a beautiful building then they easily draw the floor plan so he can construct it. Architects don't do that because that isn't the job of the architect. THESE consultants require less money too. Architects won't allow to do this job because they are the creaters of buildings not copying. I have many friends who have quitted making building for this reason. If you want to take pics of buildings in Addis, don't try it. The building owners won't let you because they fear their design will be copied. I have also seen a talk show made by the 5 consultants you have mentioned and they clearly told that it is the bad consultants who are messing the city. And as an Architecture student, it is very very very easy to tell which building is constructed by real Architects and I gotta say that there are few.

Hati13, Doesn't many Addis Ababa buildings annoy you? If you have ever passed through Bethelhem plaza in megenagna in the afternoon, the window creates a glare which could make you go blind. Have you seen 'french kiss' building? Starting from the name, it is disgggustting. The building is just crazy. Almost all buildings are just made to make money. They are just flat ugly structures. Only the Churches has impressive looks.

I admire Emperor Haile Selassie on this. Almost all the buildings made at his time are just perfect. You can easily tell which buildings were construed at his time. @Hati13, have you seen 'Mazegaja bet' Please check it out. . . then you will see the difference.

Dangote the richest man in Africa smiley I really doubt it. Manu Chandaria's COMCRAFT GROUP OF COMPANIES that started in Nairobi is MASSIVE it unfathomable. It has operations and office all over the world. Some people estimate his wealth from anything 3.5B - to - 6.5B dollars - and he is yet to list any of his companies -- Dangote cement & sugar have got nothing on this.

This Kenya Indian entrepreneur & philanthropist has managed to hide massive wealth spread all over the world.

Some of companies that COMCRAFT owns globally include

1) SAFAL group - Africa leading roofing material group with operation all over - with more than 4,000 workers in Nigeria alone - with revenues over 2.5B dollars. It operates in more than 22 countries in Africa.
2) UST Global - This California based software company valued at 1B dollars and has service delivery points in India, Mexico, Portugal, Philiphines, Chile, Costa Rice, Spain etc.
3) Comcraft industrial companies across Asia - for example Steelco Gujarat Limited in India, idzania
4) Toonz - a major provider of animation to the top US and European producers, is South Asia's most admired animation studio and part of the international business conglomerate, Comcraft Group

Kenya should be called Indianastan (place of the Indians)

Nairobi should be the new Indianapolis

Kenyans should be called little Indians
