You may pay income tax and corporate tax if routed through your corporate account.
Infinitisi:

An easy way out for me would be to my investments done in a company name and have my spouse and I as signatories to the account.

That is the plan I have. While I am comfortable with it, it may not necessarily be the best option or a suitable option for others.

To the gurus in the house, I have a nagging question.
What happens if I have a yet to mature T.bills still running and an event such as death occur. How can my dependents get my money when it reverts back to my account?
In fact I made sure I inform my wife about all my TBs and the various dates of their maturity. My wife also knows my ATM PIN and my password and PIN for my mobile transfer. I can not sweat and save all these money and I will come and go and die like that (God forbid) without leaving anything behind for my love ones.

You have summoned me back here smiley after low rates sent me to stealth mode.

for real estate this has always been my thought.
Investing in real estate for cash flow is good but no super smart if you ask me. Land flipping is a much faster way to make it in real estate.

Eg If I had 100m naira, rather than buy a plot of land build a 3storey building worth a total of 100m while earning 5-8% (5-8million/p.a) annually , which is the average in Lagos by the way. I would rather buy 5 pieces of land worth 20m naira EACH at several location.

I mean ask yourself, what exactly makes a house costly? its typically the LAND and its surrounding economic activities! The structure itself requires a whole lot of maintenance to uphold its value. You have to re-paint , repair roofing sheets over time, plumbing work and etc.

Erecting a structure to me is Over hyped! Most people just do it for the prestige that comes with it smiley Land flipping is the real deal.

You can have 5pieces of land worth 20m each, in 15 years, each piece of land could be worth 60m or more leaving you with 300m. While the one who erected a structure is battling a depreciated roofing sheets, tenants court cases, filled up soak away and co.

I understand most do it for cash flow. which is where Tbills comes to the rescue smiley a place to earn cash flow with no tenant wahala or vacant flats problems.

In the end, Its good to spread your investment across different asset class coz you don't know the evil that could befall you. Even the Holy book supports this.

cheers!

See how easy it sounds to you.

You never factored in omonile, trespass ,high chances of buying a land in dispute, whose dispute may last for up to 20 years with an injunction that no activity will take place on the land.

People hide such details at times because of
1. An evil woman, who may want to kill you and easily take all.

2. An ungrateful woman who upon knowing of your account balances will not appreciate whatever is given to her or may want you to squander all on enjoyments.

I laugh at your ignorance when you sit at your end and conclude on someone else's lifestyle when you have not met him.

For your information, I am done with children. Happily married.

I have been on my analysed investment strategy since mid 2011, 2 years after I got married.

My TB and bond growth has been astronomical because I don't just compound my interests, I equally add a remarkable amounts from earnings from my consulting and salary monthly. The joy I feel inside coupled with the financial security no be here.

For your information, I have never had beer all my life so I don't go to joints like you may do. I love my wife and will never cheat on her. No side chick to drain our resources. We are in this together.

My children school fees are paid from a bond coupon payments that we have locked down for a long time before the introduction of the FG savings bond.

I enjoy life to my satisfaction the way my family is ok with.

There is power in compound interest. The exponential power is when you add money from other sources to the already compounding. Don't be jealous. It's my choice. My family and I are living financially secured.

I dont know you but your statement just made me fell in love with you. At least I now know that not all men that cheat. Keep it up and see how God will continue to surprise u

Sir please when do YOU propose to exit (and convert your Naira to Foreign currency I suppose) so people like me that do not really understand how all the factors you listed above affect the value of Naira, can cue in too and not be caught up in the devaluation of the Naira if it happens?

Please be careful in buying any crypto currency, the price is highly unstable, in fact they are falling like London bridge. My advice to people is to put a little of their investment into Cryptos and not all of their investment. It is better to diversify your investment. Use a part of the money to buy land, use another part for TBs then use a very small part of what is remaining to buy bitcoin or whichever crypto you may prefer.

its no easy bruh.

But will you fold you arms and keep your money in the bank instead. That's why I said Buy and Fence, the reason i said fence, its because its a good way to wad off Omoniles.

land dispute/Problematic land can be avoided to a large extent if people took the right professionals to sites before purchase.

Thankfully Omonile lawyer (mod of the property section and property lawyer) here on Nairaland has shared a lot of the tricks they use to sway buyers all for free.

I believe everyone here should read through his threads to learn a thing or two.

u can still drive a Mercedes 2012 it very ok and lease a range when their an outing.....am spending part of my interest to enjoy my life ooh my friend just died around 2012 and his family sold his house for 145m and blew the money ...the rent was around 7 m.yearly ..he hustled till death driving a 190 Benz and a pickup didt enjoy his money....this brothers and kid bought 5 latest cars 2 years after his death with his money....other move abroad

I can bet you that he never had 10% of that 7m for himself. The reason why he was driving a Benz 190. His family that sold the house also knew when he collects the rent and so know when to swoop to present their problems with the word 'shebi you just collect rent'. grin

I know people always have this fear but the truth is that no body will like to kill the goose that lays the golden egg. To your second point, once the woman knows that the money belongs to both of you she will not want you both to squander it. The luck I have is that I have always allowed my wife to feel ownership of my wealth. We spend the money together even though I make the money almost alone.
