You guys think Strike is the best way to go here in Nigeria. I just dey laugh. India and Nigeria is a different terrain. What worked in India might not work here. Did U all remembered what happened when Uber reduced their fare by 40% last year April. Drivers went on strike and protested. but nothing was done about it till date. Drivers went back to work. Uber became more resolute and adamant and stocked to their new prices. Am not in support of fare reduction or other grievances drivers may have with Uber/Taxify. But I think there are better and reasonable ways this can be handled 2 Likes 1 Share |

Naija is hard. Economy is zero. You are a driver that makes money on a daily driving someone's car. Your hustle. You decide say you don chop belleful and you no wan work but your fellow guy get pattern. He drives a more fuel efficient vehicle and makes money. You wake up say you no do again and then because you no do again, make another man no do. Are you not mad? You declare your strike. For 12 hrs. You sit hungry at home and request guys hustling, cancel their trips and lie that they came with a different car. Your guy gets punished for a crime he didn't commit. And then few hrs later, you go back online with your own ratings intact, driving on the same platform and with the same rates you refused your fellow hustler to drive on. You are a mad devil and God will punish you. I am indifferent to your strike. It's my choice. You don't know if I drive an electric car. But because you are not meeting up, you also decide that I am not meeting up and you try to bring me down? You are very mad. Continue your strike but don't be foolishly hypocritical by driving while the fares are still the same and don't force your imbecilic opinions down the throats of others. There is no union guiding ehailing. Until there is officially a recognized one don't blame me if I do not strike with you. Don't be cynical. 3 Likes |

Terrence15115:Uber/Taxify drivers in Nigeria don't speak with one voice whenever issues like this arises. Drivers needs to form a Trade union registered with Government inorder to protect their interest. Then collective bargaining should be adopted instead of strike. It remains the most effective way of settling dispute and grievances, it is a process of negotiation between employers and a group of employees aimed at agreements to regulate working salaries, working conditions, benefits, and other aspects of workers' compensation and rights for workers. The reason why ehailing companies keep taking decision Solely without consulting driver partners is because they don't have a Union. I know forming a union has its disadvantages, but it's best way to handle the situation on ground 4 Likes |

chucsmoore: Very well said, bro. This is another angle that can be exploited but at least a warning strike will resonate drivers grievance. Maybe there should be a team constituted from on here to engage with them going forward, not necessarily drivers but partners who have put their money down too. |
