E be like say NZ tough pass Australia self
Maka why now?

NZ being a small and conservative country is very careful of who and what comes in through their border. They protect the country the best way possible..... Most people use NZ as a steppingstone to enter Australia. So u should know why it’s tough.

But NZ immigration is still one of the lenient in the world.

Thanks Solin and Femijck for your advise.
But as you might have known, Nzd immigration does not have a contact email address except tel. Nos and contact addresses. My cousin managed to get across to them through the online query option provided on their website. But he will still go ahead and contact them again and will let you know how far it goes.
Thanks once again.

Saw from your post that you traveled in 2017.

I was in Sydney last September for 1 week and our Americans organizers of our conference, who love tourism have chosen Auckland again. They just live traveling and exploring the world.

We started in 1999 with India, then China, Hong Kong, Saint Petersburg, Tokyo, Sydney and now Auckland.

Since I once had AU visa, guessing I'm not going to have challenges with NZL Visa

Your organizer seems to be a credible one. And it appears to me that u kept to the terms and conditions of ur Aussie visa and others. so u shouldn’t have any problem.... just give them enough time to process your application.

Challenge is my passport would expire on 14th October, 2019 which is exactly one month after my due return date. Im in between applying for new one in May/June or risk the old one. What do you think?

wow!!! a very good tread thanks to femi and co for the useful info was just reading all,
my elder brother is currently in Auckland, i have visited him before that was 2015
NZ is a beautiful country to visit or settle, but they have very few black there you might not see a black in a whole day.
imagine i was the only black person in the flight from Singapore to Auckland.

from what i learnt from my brother if you enter through VV, you can take up a 3-6 months course that will give you opportunity to work
while you are there.

Lol you’re right ..... once u get to Asia, u likely to be the only black on your flight..... I sometimes don’t see any black in days..... maybe we’re all busy working our ass off to pay bills.....lol

Yes once you’re able to get a student visa, u can work upto 20hrs and still get a post study work visa but mind u the fee is not cheap but it’s gonna worth it if u can afford it.

But anybody planning to take on short course should wait a little bit as they proposing a new change to post study work visa which allow people who do short course to work upto 3 years After their study. They proposed limiting it to only students who study at least a 3 years course equivalent to a University degree.

The bill is not passed yet though as they seeking professional opinion on that.

Your passport needs to be valid for at least 3 months as at the time u applying for your visa for it to be approved (if I can still remember) .But with the backlog with INZ which I’m sure will still carry on through next year, I will advise u apply for your visa at least 5 month before your intended travel date....

So let’s assume your application takes over 2 months to process, which is very likely to be the case. Will your passport still be valid for upto 3 months??

Do the math and make your decision.

It's a difficult task from Nigeria. Reason is that one your skill has to be in skill shortage area, you need 160 points to get EOI, and NZ experience as well.

Which airline did you go with?

SAA would take 4 days, but shorter flying hours.
Emirates comes next with 3 days, but expensive
Egypt air is next with 3 days too but will they take a passenger with è Visa?

The route now is SAA= LOS to JXB to PER to AKL

This is route makes you fly for lesser hours in the air

LOS to JXB = 5:00 + in the air (Layover in the Airport is 18:00 hours plus)
JXB to PER = 9:00 + in the air (Layover in the Airport is 7:00 hours plus)
PER to AKL = 6:00 + in the air

Total from Night of departure in Lagos is 45 hours. Hence, if you departed on Friday Night at 22:30 pm, you'll only Get to Auckland on Monday Morning.

Compensation os you'll fly for lesser hours in the air totaling 20 hours. Only SAA can do 20:00 flying time, emirates is more.
