I keep hearing people saying they will dredge a particular area in order to have access to a sea/ocean.

I'm still confused, what does the dredging means?

It means to dig out or pump out sand from the water...in other to make the sea or river deep enough for easy passage of bigger vessels like ships.

Bro forget that map rivers state and akwa ibom are separated by water body not shown fully by that map
It's called Azumili blue river which link from Abia states and empty into Atlantic ocean. But Nigerian government can't venture into it dredging becauae of the cost , and it evonomic viability, you can visit there for more discovery
