I have a problem with my system and I hopefully hope to get a solution from the gurus here. System is Acer ES1 series. Picture below. At first I noticed sometimes ago that the system will just sometimes go off by itself. But I thought it's a way system does when it overheats or something blocking fan. Then later I realized that it started getting sometimes slow and video player will start hanging and all. I assumed it's a system/ram overload cos anytime I do a system reset it works fine again. But earlier this week, the problem persisted and became exaggerated when I tried to install Avast. The system crash with error code during the installation. But a future system reset solved it. So since then, system has been too slow and still trips off by itself sometimes. Then later, the screen will start flickering and might even go off or restarts. And sometimes the screen will show some coloured lines as shown in below picture. I did a complete Windows10 install while formatting the hard disk. However, the problem still persist. On using the hard disk on another system, it works flawlessly, so confirmed that it's not a hard disk problem. And its not Ram issue cos I've tried other ram The system came with Windows8 But I've upgraded it to Windows10 a long time ago before all this ish started. So please gurus in the house, what could the solution be. Please I dey beg. Picture of the motherboard also included.

Suarez190: He keeps putting the chip and it kept spoiling it. Probably this technician doesn't know what he is doing, when power ic keep spoiling or getting hot each time he changes it then there is a short somewhere and most likely the sio (controller) is bad. LDO (low drop out) is short all he needs is to check the impedance and communication of that line. Or let me just say he doesn't want to fix it,cos every chip engineer should know this. My advice is take it to another engineer or get another motherboard. |

DoctorGenteel: It switch off at a particular time, is the timing constant? Like every 5mins, 10mins etc? The two signs you mention 1. Constantly switch off 2. System run slow. I already told you to service it but since you didn't reply I assume you already done that. Have you considered flashing the bios (ME region) the Intel management engine might be corrupt, those are part of it signs. 1 Like |

I have come with my dv4 again o I don't even know where to start from I always have to complete my work and shut down my PC ALL THE TIME If I try to hibernate it, it will be stuck on that blue windows interface and I won't see any rotating dots. I won't have any choice but to power off and on, and then it works fine But it means that I have to start afresh. I wonder what could be the problem. Someone told me that it is a bug with Windows 10, so I should update it. I'm using the Fall Update and he is still using the first version(August 2015 version) of Windows 10 and he doesn't have such problems o I even tried viewing system files on OS level and tried to delete that hiberfil.sys, thinking that maybe it was virus infected. I couldn't do that Please help me with a fix Oga Razak, if you still remember I asked you about that T9600 Core2duo processor a few months back. Is it still available? I would like to purchase it. |
Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by DoctorGenteel: 12:05am On Nov 30, 2018 |
udemzyudex: It doesn't really go off everytime. But the display is what majorly blinks intermittently and will later go off completely retaining the backlight. Then sometimes it might come back and start blinking again after a while. It does so in safe mood too. But doesn't run slow in safe mode. Just the blinking display. This particular issue started after a failed reset(system tripped off) and then a complete install of Windows10. I've not serviced it. How do I go about that please. The blinks starts small by small. Then continuously until the screen goes blank without any display. Just the backlight |

Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by udemzyudex(m): 5:11pm On Nov 30, 2018 |
DoctorGenteel: This is a better explanation about what's happening. With this explanation, I believe it has nothing to do with bios, you need to do a thorough service on your laptop, like clean and apply coolant to the processor etc. For the screen, two things can cause it, a bad signal cable or a bad screen. I'll suggest you try another screen on it. |

coolcentbigman: You mean shift keys? Well, even if it is just one key that is not working and it is important, the whole keyboard is write off. |
