You couldn't say it more correct than this.Year by year, they always base their budget estimate going by the global oil prices! grin
rvp20182:
And most of it from oil..just add 2b from 36 states IGR..and add 1b for Kenya..and you'll see they collect less money than Kenya.

you can do the math your self.
lagos for instance generated around 320billion last year, but now generates over 400billion at half year 2018 analysis meaning it Will generate some thing close to around 800 billions naira ending of the year .
when we say Lagos economy is bigger and and better than Kenya economy, we ain't saying it out of blues but with valid figures and proof.

So Lagos generates 20 times more than what the whole of Nigeria generates yet Lagos is within Nigeria? This is the level of stupidity that's keeping Nigeria's life expectancy at the bottom of the continent.

Show me Kenya's revenue first. I want the data from a recognised and authorized regulatory body in charge collating data's for revenue, not one spying agent accumulating data's from intelligence and unable to give a comprehensive breakdown on the matter. grin

you cant dispute the fact that Lagos generated 400billions( 112,714,296.08 Kenyan Shilling) half year quotation in comparison with what your so called developed capital or even your country at large generated in year,Nairobi hardly generated 9 billion kse while mighty Lagos generated over 100B KES , that is like 11 times of what your developed capital generated for a year and not lagos half year quotation,
lagos alone generated 5 times what your entire country generated in a year which is 26B kes at most.
The 47 counties collected a total of Sh24.7 billion between July 2016 and March this year compared to Sh25.9 billion realised over a similar period a year earlier, data by the Treasury shows.

"Nairobi recorded the biggest drop in revenues by Sh900 million to Sh8.7 billion, accounting for three quarters of the total drop in county revenues.

No, lagos generates 35% of internal generated revenue when combined with other states, and not Federal revenue,
the revenue generated are mostly from its tax and other agencies.
Federal government generates its revenue from oil, see ports, airports and other agencies alike. which mostly comes from the oil producing states.

Half year - from what you pasted few minutes ago is 196 (had wrongly transposed that to 169) - therefore it will end the year at 400B Naira - compared to last year -320B Naira. That seem reasonable growth of revenues.

400B Naira is slightly over 1B dollars per annum - in a "mega slum city" that collect sales, payroll, corp and other taxes plus so many other levies.

As for Nairobi. Once again you're just the usual dishonest Nigerian.

Kenya ran a UNITARY system of Gov. You ran a FEDERAL system of gov.

You have 36 states that can levy taxes (sales, corporation, payroll taxes etc). Our Counties are NOT allowed to levy taxes or borrow without permission of Treasury (so far none has ever managed to borrowed).

Now you need to learn to compare Oranges with Oranges. Not apples with Oranges. They are all fruits - yes but different.

For the sake of this debate - you can compare you Federal + State revenues - and our National Revenues + Counties. And that should settle this debate if you weren't an obstinate lying Nigeria like is your national culture
.

When we compared kenya and Nigeria - 2017 - Kenya probably total to 16B internal revenues (excluding A-I-A) - while Nigeria total to 15B ( am adding 2B from all states IGR to Federal revenues of 13B dollars).

And most of it from OIL. Bottomline your COUNTRY is total crap. Remove OIL - and you are with Niger, Chad & Benin. Even our lazy Tanzania neighbour seem to be doing better - and you can see in the pictures grin

Is that 320 billion USD or Naira? Because if it's USD then you're sick and need to see a doctor and if it's Naira then sit your ass down because even Mombasa collects more than that. Whichever way, you lose.

seriously I tried to make sense of what you wrote but its hard man,
so are you saying your government only generates its revenue from the income made from your counties, and that the counties can't use what they generated to furthering various counties projects except been granted permission by the head government.
if that is the case, their shouldn't be any reasons of comparing Nigeria with Kenya, as Nigeria will be able to fund various projects on states Level while Kenya counties can't?

show me where Mombasa generated more revenue than kano state not to mentioned Ogun, Rivers, Delta and lagos states.
.
Nigga kenya is too small to be compared with Nigeria..
what your TREASURY Board has to say

"Nakuru’s internally generated revenue also dipped by Sh400 million to Sh1.1 billion, according to the data by the Treasury, while Uasin Gishu collected Sh18 million less at Sh524 million.
On the flipside, Mombasa grew its revenues to Sh1.9 billion from Sh1.6 billion, while revenue receipts for Kisumu remained unchanged at Sh776 million.
Bomet grew its revenues 88 per cent to Sh197 million in the review period, Baringo by 10 per cent to Sh222 million while Bungoma’s receipts surged 61 per cent to Sh526 million."
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by Jonraid(m): 12:52pm On Nov 30, 2018
1 Kenya shilling= 3.55 Naira

Remember, this revenues that they collect are mostly in parking fees and small business permits.Counties are not mandated to collect taxes in Kenya,it is the KRA(Kenya revenue Authority) that performs this task!

What you don't understand is, in Kenya revenue is collected twice - by the county government and by the National government. The county government's revenue is limited to minor things like public parking revenue etc while the national government collects the bulk of taxes including VAT, Income tax etc. Whatever you keep throwing to us is a minute fraction of what is collected in Mombasa (remember Kilindini harbor in Mombasa is the third busiest port in Africa after Durban Richards Bay in SA so the port revenue also comes in) and if at all Lagos, a state of over 17 million people, collects a mere 880M USD of tax then you should be mourning rather than boasting.
