Ibrahimanis:
Africans (especially Nigerians) are more exposed to fake news than Americans. (imagine that)

At the height of farmers/herders clashes, facebook had to disable Several accounts based in UK for spreading fake news in Nigeria.

Fake news has led to death of several individuals in Nigeria.

I know for a fact that some of these guys are dismissed personnel who bear grudges against the military. (I know one personally)

The military has it's fault but some of the claims on social a media are outrageous.

Not everything seen on the social media is the gospel truth.

I am just shaking my head at the gullibility of people or downright deliberate spreading of fake news for various agendas.

I miss both their posts though. Each with his own unique style. You hardly see the both of them post battlefield photos. Henry's post are usually geared towards military industry, Air Force, Special Forces and Africa related content.

Jakeporeshenko's posts are usually military equipment, Navy and Special forces.

The argument that led to the both of them abandoning ship was unnecessary though.

Some men were subjected to public humiliation and punishment by some soldiers along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

It was gathered that the offence of the men was that they were driving too close to the army's vehicle and the officers suspected that they might be dangerous, hence the men were stopped and forced to lay/kneel on the ground by the roadside.

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, ran into the scene on his way from RCCG's Redemption camp as the soldiers were dealing with the men.

He told them it was not their duty to carry out arrests and that if they considered them suspects it was the job of the police to investigate and prosecute them.

The men were later released after series of exchanges and tension.

lol, Nigeria and her "pretend democracy".

Situations like these are good and bad, good in the sense that this is when media outlets all over the country should cease on situations like these and report on them like there world is about to end.
Get lawmakers involved, introduce bills, curb powers these soldiers have over civilians in a non-emergency mapped out area.
Soldiers have no business enforcing laws in the country, that's the job of the police, heck a soldier can't pull you over, they shouldn't have that right or power, they shouldn't be in possession of weapons inside non-designated areas, e.g a Barack, unless they were deployed or state of emergency was declared.
But when you have a country where the citizens are utterly clueless and don't even know their rights, these things will happen.
And that's when the media should come in, educate the people on these things.
If anything those civilians should be slapping a massive lawsuit on the military right now, and they would have won, even right there in Nigeria, at least judges knows the law ( i hope), so they should see this was illegal.
It once again shows the lack of discipline Henry and i talked about, these soldiers have superiors, what would they do about this? Nothing

Succinct
Lemme correct the bolded. If such things is reported to the appropriate Channel (The soldiers Station/base) they would get some down time in guard room. This is something have seen at Letmauck Cantonment Ibadan. Some punishment even includes pay too

My only grouse is that this thread doesn't have anything to do with such stuffs. This place is for Battlefield topics of our men.

I respect BabaOwen , and I wish he could create a thread for it
