You're right Dr.

What do you have to say as regards Biochemistry and Physiology ?
I heard Biochemistry by U. Satyanarayana and U.Chakrapani is good.

Also Essentials of Medical Physiology by K. Sebunlingam too for physio.

A friend of mine that got distinction in physiology used only Ganong, I used it too. It was very resourceful.

Medical biochemistry by Chartejea is highly recommended. It's a good book if you truly want to get a good grasp of medical biochemistry.

Good luck.
Please avoid using too many books at once.

Your assertion is wrong! Dental students don't only do dental or oral pathology, they do general medicine, general surgery, general pathology and pharmacology together with medical students which carry the same mark and grade. They don't do community medicine, O & G and Paediatrics. That's for 1st degree.

Then in residency, residents in oral & maxillofacial surgery will still rotate through internal medicine, ENT, plastic surgery, at times ophthalmology, and general surgery plus some dental subspecialties..

Oral pathology residents will rotate through internal medicine, general pathology plus some dental subspecialties.

Oral medicine residents will still rotate through general pathology and internal medicine plus some dental subspecialties..

Oral radiology residents will still rotate through internal medicine, general radiology plus some dental subspecialties.

I don't know about periodontics, endodontics, orthodontics and prosthodontics.

Besides, Dentistry is a SIX- YEAR course in Nigeria.

Why can't the students and practitioners of Dentistry just create their own thread, instead of explaining and defending their course on every page of a thread originally created by and for students and practitioners of Medicine and Surgery

Because they're medical students too.

This your statement is rather too unfortunate.
There are a lot of misconceptions about Dentistry, and that's what he is trying to explain. Medicine and dentistry are not distinct as you think, and this thread is not for student of medicine and surgery alone. We are one, and shouldn't be discrimination.

Maybe
I'm not so sure,
But candidates have been offered admission via their CAPS status
Both DE, Merit and COC.
You can await the institution official statement.

Dentistry is Medicine and Surgery too. It is just a branch. Dentists are one of the most paid specialist medical doctors in countries where doctors are paid by their specialties.

You just goofed! Medicine and Dentistry are intertwined. Hence, this thread belongs to both medical and dental students. When you hear the word "medical", know that it refers to both medical and dental. I take it that you are just a kid and you know nothing. National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria belongs to only medical and dental doctors.

If you want us to create another thread, why then do we have Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), NMA and Medical and Dental Consultants of Nigeria (MDCAN) for the two professions?

You are just ignorant. Take it from me!

Dr Lagusta made a mistake by saying that Dentistry is a 5-year course, and i was trying to explain something to him. If you see me in person, i'm not sure you'll talk to me like this.

That's good. Thanks for replying. Please, one more question, what course did you offered in your fist degree?
I'm trying to get some clues on what fate I'm soon to be confronted with, I'm currently doing my Btech programme in Pure and Applied Biology with the hope of using it for D.E into med school, but then someone said something about how Btech degrees can't be used to gain admission into medicine or related health science courses.

Am finding it quite difficult to comprehend... Especially the arrangement, its scattered.

I find Keith moore more interesting... Buh we all know its bulky with irrelevant clinical stuffs for my level.

What do u guys advise, considering the fact my school recomends last anatomy.
