Yes!

The US embassy is not putting a gun to anybody's head to apply for their visas.

All those fees from visa fee, SEVIS fee and all have already been stated in black and white that they are non-refundable fees and that getting a visa is not a right but applicants have to convince the VO's beyond reasonable doubts that they do not have immigrants intents to overstay their presence beyond the US CBP officers legal presence date in the US.

The fact remains that they are exploiting us whether you agree or not, they are making money off us.

No one says they are putting guns to anyone's head, the fact is that there is reallly a high rate of refusal now as Trump promised there will be a great decrease in immigration. The same reason you would have used 2 years ago and be granted a visa will not work if you state that same reason this year...so forget about that convincing VO talk.

What happened to them charging a processing fee and then the applicant paying the visa fee if it is granted, same way the Chinese embassy does it, this clearly shows the Chinese are not after our visa fee,the US should do same if they are really not making lots of income from Nigerians. They are just making money of us..What caused the increase in rate for visa fee?

It's really high time our leaders do something about it.

BREAKING: Stop denying visa to Nigerians - National Assembly writes Mr Stuart, US ambassador

This is silly and a complete waste of time.

The National Assembly can't do anything about it.

They can only plead and beg. Their letter has zero impact.

All those argument is weak.

You are comparing China with the US even when the Chinese are also experiencing the same US visa refusal rate due to their also high US visas abusers rate like Nigeria.

The US and China have very, very different immigration laws.

The US immigration laws is very, vey weak and it has some many loop-holes that overstayed illegally immigrants in the US get away with.

China immigration laws is not immigrant-friendly and one can be deported right away without due process and at the same time an undocumented immigrant living in China can never get their illegal status change to legal status.

The immigration law or whatever you stated here has nothing to do with them not collecting visa fee till the visa is granted.

Good evening everyone.
My Dad’s friend wants us to come and pay him and his family a visit in the US, this is planned for next year june July. I’m from a family of 6 (father, mother, my 3 siblings and I) dad a lecturer, mum a government school teacher, I just graduated and my siblings are still in school, but we thinking of only 2 to 3 of us making the trip (i.e my dad and I/+ my sister).
My questions:
1. Should the whole family apply for the visiting visa?
2. Does my Dad occupation show a strong tie to the country ?
3. Does the principal applicant need to have a traveling experience (he has only been to Mecca for pilgrimage)
4. Is June, July an acceptable time for visiting visa?
5. After being issued the visa, can only 2 of us eventually make the trip to US without being denied entry?
6. Do we need to take a flight that lands in the host’s state?
Thanks as you respond to my questions

Are you minding those fools?

Shouldn't their main focus and priorities be about why the US embassy is always bombarded with their un-countless citizens trying desperately to leave the country and spend millions and millions of Naira trying to use the student visa route to do so. undecided

Hello everyone. So i was lucky to reschedule my appointment for 6th December from a previous date in March, 2019, thanks to counsel from this platform. However i got another mail this evening confirming my appointment for later in December; this is also reflected on the U.S embassy website with the previous date of Dec 6th showing cancelled as the status. I am at a loss which one to follow?
Please has anyone had a similar experience in the past?

What U.S donate to Nigeria in aids and grants is around 15% of our national budget.... I keep asking myself, how much are they making from visa fees, SEVIS fees etc for most of us to think the U.S embassy and U.S as a country depend on our visa fee?

Well, if they stop creating movies that give wrong impression on how easy it is to get rich, stop creating impressions that poverty doesn't exist in America people will loose interest.

I am not entitled to any visa and I am not taking it personal after all i paid my money and i was issued a US visa, i didn't even use the first one i was issued cos i am not that desperate ... i was also of the opinion that people who said they were not issuing visas were over exaggerating until i went there for 221G interview, i could count how many of us were granted renewals, if you listen to the interviews you will know that they are just intentionally not giving the visas no matter what you say apart from a very few....I remember my first interview and i can say there is a wide difference....

I still maintain my opinion and you have a right to your own opinion too....

Hmmm...not only stupid but it shows you how very very desperate those National Assembly law makers are in Nigeria trying so hard to get their family or themselves the US visas by all means.

To add to the already crazy situation in Nigeria what country do we see stooping so low and desperate as to have their law makers have the guts to summon a foreign diplomat before those losers because they are being refused an ordinary US visa.

Very shameful!
