How can you deny people visa without refunds more than 3 or 4 times in a year.. I wonder oo !! Some people apply more than 3times in a year still get denied... but then you approved them once and you want them to come back to their country after many denial? Ka’are ..... Seeing the great improvement in America? Even drop box being turned down.. there’s no gurantee of getting the visa when you return to Nigeria... but you want them to come back.. when they see it as their only chance ... Americans are the one making Nigerians run away... Make the visa accessible to almost everyone you’ll see how people will return when they know it’s easy to get the visa... Paying 57600 for 10 sec interview .. they don’t verify document to be sure of your intentions. What kind organization is that one ... lol someone on this forum said the VO said he qualified but won’t approve him .. 57600 means a lot to Nigerians but the worst is denying the real people with good intentions...57600 is 3x of Nigeria minimum wages The desperation won’t get this high.. |

oyin44:let me tell you the truth you dont expect academicians to be technical, they were not trained that way. Even in the university most of the practicals done is just to confirm theoretical assumptions or definitions thats why we have polytechnics were the actual technical training is done. University academicians lay the foundations while the technical guys are there to build on it. They are trained to use theoretical knowledge and build products thats why university projects are different from polytechnics. |

I don’t know how many times the House of Assembly members have to be told that they cannot summon the US Ambassador. |

The Foreign Affairs Minister should have been summoned and he would then summon the US Ambassador. |

lexy2014:My God! Did you just say that? I'm sorry you are arrogant in your ignorance! The visa fee payment which is non refundable.... Is it going to Nigerian Government or the US'? From your assertion, the ministry of foreign affair is superior to the national assembly. Are you not aware of the oversight function of the National Assembly? Are you not aware that the National Assembly is an ARM of the government and not a TIER of the government? |
Re: Visa Denial: National Assembly Summons US Ambassador by Psoul(m): 9:27am On Dec 04, 2018 |
Whoever America want to have mercy on, she will have mercy on. They have the right to and not to issue visa to anyone weda you are qualified or not. If it pains u so much, also deny their citizens Nigerian Visa or better still, go and fix your country's economy, health sector, education centre and other infrastructure so that your citizens will have little or nothing to go looking for in another man's country. Stay in your house na curse? 2 Likes |

Niorte: Am sure u can make ur point without resorting 2 personal attacks. Keep ur emotions 2 urself and say what u need 2 say. According 2u, "America is a sovereign state but does business on Nigeria soil." Is visa fee payment d only business America does in Nigeria? This is just one of d several things America does in Nigeria. 4d fact that d National Assembly performs oversight functions over d ministry of foreign affairs, doesn't automatically mean d national assembly can query d US embassy or its Ambassador. Are u trying to tell me that d ambassador of Ecuador to d UK is answerable 2d UK Parliament because he is housing Julian assange, a fugitive wanted by d UK, Switzerland & d US? What d national assembly can do is to mandate d ministry of foreign affairs to summon d ambassador on any particular issue and get feedback from d ministry. D ambassador is expected 2 respond cos thats a diplomatic courtesy expected of him. There's nowhere in d world that an ambassador would appear b4 any political institution in a country to give account of its activities. If it has to, it will need clearance from its home country like in d Khassoghi case in turkey. When several European countries got into a diplomatic spat with Russia cos of d Skripal poisoning in d UK, it wasn't d Russian parliament that handled it. It was d Russian foreign affairs that summoned d ambassadors of those countries. If u have seen otherwise, pls share. U used d word "sovereign". D embassy of a country is sovereign territory. If it is, what status do u think d ambassador has? |

lexy2014: nigeria has alot of goverment people that dont understand how international politics works....you cant summon a ambassador of another country to the national assembly....its not done that way....you people shouldnt forget that america is not a pushover nation.... dem this crazy people would rather fight you than compromise with you.... in case you people didnt noticed....: america is closing up.... if they deny you to enter their house, then you cant force them.... |

FarahAideed: Sad that a whole National Assembly can be turned into an agbero/area boys club. We are pointing at the Executive for a bad job but the Senate has been terrible. Nigerians should make demands from this arm of government. We still behave like we are in a military regime and we always forget that in a democracy you have 3 arms and it takes the 3 arms working well for any progress to take place. 1 Like |

it is funny how Nigerians know about good things but they will never do good things for their sake or others. they want to run to America that is built by sane people, but preaching sanity is the last thing Nigerians want to listen to. it still surprises me that people blame government for their plights in this country while every Nigerian you choose to do a business with only reasons how to dupe you not how to make the business grow. A country where betrayal of trust is a sign of someone being smart has no place in the community of sane people. |
Re: Visa Denial: National Assembly Summons US Ambassador by panpan(m): 11:01am On Dec 04, 2018 |
If it costs N57,600 to apply for a US visa, and the US embassy 'processes' one thousand applications a day, then we are simply giving the US government N57.6m each working day, for mostly visa denials. As long as the money keeps coming in, the US embassy will not stop this 'business'. Boycott the US visa application if possible. If you must travel abroad (and there is nothing wrong with this), consider another country. Nigerians should be sensitized against wasting hard-earned money on a foreign entity, especially when there is no positive result. |
