EYES TWITCHING,SONIA SLOWLY OPENED HER EYES..., Her sight was blur at first, then little by little it became clearer....
Her head throb and she grimaced, she realise she was lying down, she look around, she quickly registered she was in a bed but on whose bed....

She rolled her eyes around, studying the room, it wasn't the room Pious had given her in the mansion, just then she quickly brood over what happened...., she had called Kess, he came but...

She snorted when nothing but total darkness surfaced at the rest of her thoughts....
She wince as she struggled to stand up, she quickly stare at her hand, it wasn't bleeding anymore but it was plastered , just then she saw blood stained cotton wool on a tray...

She quickly quivered, stare at her hand again.....
With pain webbing through her injured hand, she stood up from the bed, scan her eyes around again, the room was scattered, clothes littered everywhere, a police uniform hung on the wooden hand of the wardrobe....

Wondering where he is, she staggered out of the room and quickly made her way into the palour....
She exhales and threw herself on a chair......
She gaze at her plastered hand again,the muddy sand has been cleaned from her body leaving only the ones on her shirt that seem stuck on it...., she scan her eyes around,she shudder when she saw the blood on the floor, on the chair, she wonder if that was her blood.......
She stood up from the chair and took a step, inclined to look out from the window...
She shudder when the door opened.....
She sigh, a sigh of relief when she realise it was Kess....

"What are you doing...? Kess said dropping the nilon bag he was carrying on a chair close to him.....
He rushed to her side and helped her back on the chair.... "Are you okay.... ?he ask checking the bullet wound on her hand...

Sonia snort.... "Am fine.... "She muttered crisply...

"You had to.....! ,he gritted.... "It wasn't only the chief you shot, you shot a security man as well, thank God they didn't die, you would have become a murderer.... "

Sonia puff but didn't reply...

"What you did was so very irrational..., you let your hatred for the chief cloud your sense of reasoning.....

"I know.... "She cut in.... "You've no idea what i have been feeling all this years, you've no idea what that man did to me.... "

Tears began to flood her eyes.....

Kess felt pity for her, he walk close to her and crouched down in her front.... "I understand perfectly well how you felt Sonia, but that doesn't change the fact that you acted irrationally....., your decision almost cost a security guard his life not to mention the chief.....

"The chief ruined my life.... "Sonia hollered with tears....

Kess suck his teeth,he rose to his feet, trot towards the door and spun round to face her again...

"The chief killed my family, he killed Steve.... "She said crisply, more uncontrollable tears bursting down as she began to brood over the painful memories...

Kess snort.... "Killing the chief back wasn't the answer....., you took laws into your own hands....."

"When that bastard stabbed my parents to death, did the law punish him, when he killed Steve, where was the law.......?

Kess wince softly as he bit his lips, her reminder of steve death pricked a deep feeling of incompetence into him, he couldn't bring her boyfriend murderer to justice.... Sonia blink and a layer of tear dropped from her eyes...

Kess grunts, then he turn away his face to avoid seeing her tears but his body kept pushing him, he concured, he face her again, with a short drag, he hold her hands..., an urge to hold her tight, drag her to himself sink into him, it pushed his buttons making him feel things he thought were long dead......

"Everything will be okay.... "He said gently.... "But you've to promised me you'll never hunt the chief, promise to leave this for the police..... "

Sonia quickly nodded with tears, scared, tears wrecking her face, spines,she quickly hugged Kess, holding him tightly....

Tension paralyze him, for a moment he stood still, couldn't move, the enormity of the effect of her touch running deep in him....,slowly he wrapped his hands around her, letting her tear flow and drop on his shoulder......

For a minute, they remained in the warmth of the embrace until Kess ringing phone disrupt the fun......

Slowly, Kess let go and quickly brought his phone out from his pocket....
He frown when he saw the caller,it was Philip....
"Don't say anything... "He said to her, snorted and answered the call.....

"Where are you man, the nurse said you rushed out of the hospital"Philip said from the other end

Kess grunts, a feeling of bitterness towards the thought that Philip might be the mole crawl it's way into him....... "I just went out to get some things, am on my way to the station...... "

"I have news for you... "Philip said from the other end...

Kess glance at Sonia who was watching him...... "What...?

"It seem Sonia is alive..... "Philip said

"Sonia.......!Kess muttered

"Yes...,we went back to the scene to search for her body, she wasn't there, but it seems she was bleeding, her blood left a trail...., we followed it and it led us to the other side of the road....., there it stopped, it seems someone took her again....... "

He quickly dropped the phone when the call ended.....
