Tojued: The problem is with seniors who continue to answer already answered questions because newbies won't stop asking such. So until seniors start referring people to page 1 or totally ignoring people who are hell-bent on spamming the thread with such questions, this problem will continue. I've decided to 'wakapass' any such questions and if I'm in a good mood, would refer to page 1. Adios!!! 15 Likes |

joo2018: The allure is obvious na ![]() In Canada, you can get a developed nation's permanent residency (with the array of benefits that comes with it) and later citizenship and passport to travel visa free to more than 100 countries of the world. It is not so easy to get residency and citizenship in those places like Japan, Hong Kong, UAE etc hence you are restricted from achieving a whole lot that their citizens will naturally achieve given the same efforts. So you see, this Canadian hustle is global and real...Nigerians in the UK, Japan, UAE and Nigerians in Nigeria all are jostling for it... It will end in praise IJN! 14 Likes |

Lol. I second the motion. I think it is a case of the poor you will always have with you. There will always be questions and answers. I remember reposting a post from part 1 thread making the same complaint. Page 1 of part 7 thread can contain links to the page 1 of older threads and ppr timelines only. I think the body of knowledge of the process has mostly been gotten. Tojued: 1 Like |

Saw this technical explanation of ghost updates on canadavisa. The poster got 2 ghost updates spaced 21 days apart. EST is Toronto/Ottawa time. "Ghost updates happen when your profile is updated by an agent or the system but the update is too granular to represent the status of a step visible in your online application. For instance, background check involves 2 steps - criminality and security. If the status of your criminality check changes - passed, declined etc but the status of your security check did not, the overall status of background check is still not available. Thus you will see that the status of the profile shows updated but no visible change is there in the details since criminality and security are not displayed separately. With respect to the status on the summary page showing updated but then opening again showing submitted, I think that the IRCC system tracks whether the user opened the page at least one after a profile update. If it has not been visited and the application was updated (say in case of ghost update), the summary page shows updated as status. If after that one opens the application, since it has been visited, the system changes to the actual status of the application usually submitted. I have noticed that if the application status of the summary page is updated but not visited, an email is sent out to the registered email address at around 8pm EST. Furthermore, I have seen that till the application is visited, emails are sent as reminders everyday at the same time 8pm. Technical note: to me this seems like a simple scheduled nightly batch job that checks for application status change and sends out emails to registered addresses. So, if you have an update on your application which is too granular to be shown on the details page, and you did not visit the online site to open it by 8pm, you would receive an email saying there has been activity on your application. However on visiting the details page you will not see any change and the status on summary page would change to Submitted. About receiving 1 or 2 ghost updates before a final decision - I think that if the background check as a whole (both steps) completed on the same day, only one ghost update is received. If however the 2 steps happen on 2 different days you get 2 updates. Talking with IRCC CSRs I understand that even after background check is complete, an agent needs to review the entire application for overall eligibility(including background check). That is the eligibility needs to be changed from recommended pass to passed. It is the time an agent takes after the conclusion of background check to assess final eligibility that determines the time it took to get a PPR or decline notification after the last ghost update. I still question this analysis though since I have read that people got eligibility pass even before bg check pass. Also, I am not aware whether inland applications are processed outside Canada - I doubt it since I have never seen an update after 5pm EST. Thus, to maintain sanity, I do not check application past 5pm on weekdays and never on weekends. A lot of what I have said is inferred and based on my experience with online and large processing systems so take it with a grain of salt." Original post by @ICT_Transfer_WP 5 Likes 1 Share |

My point exactly!! Even the experienced ones on this thread should be able to sift out those very basic questions and refer them to page 1. That way... Smslive's and Mcstan's efforts would not be a waste. Please, answering questions is not a competition. Let's focus on answering only rare questions or those that require special attention. Thanks Fam! On a second note... I smell PPR already for tomorrow! Who is with me on this?? I need to mark some scripts, my pen is getting dry oo biko! Tojued: 12 Likes |

This has been answered on this thread before several times. Please, you need to narrow your search on the thread closely. Use key words like "POF" , "treasury Bills" "Gift deeds"... It may take you a while to search it... but it definitely would be worth the search.. because you would find different views and several alternatives that were adopted by people in the past. Good luck ma. Wumi93: 12 Likes |

Wumi93: Like they advised u up there. U need to do a lot of reading. Treasury bills, 6months acct statement and gift deed are all different stuff. None of them OVERCOMES the other. Search them here and read about how and when they are used. If u don't read, you will keep asking one question after another. Reading makes things easier and u can ask only specific/personalized questions. Let's try and use Nairaland search engine. It is like a mini Google It will end in praise for all of us. Well, as much as I believe the continuous provision of answers to many simple questions that are begging to be searched and read on page 1 can really really be tiring, but looking at the flow of the trending issue, I noticed that even the number of words used at directing the questionnaires to page1 has in some cases been longer than rather answering the said questions. My major observation on the so much spamming the thread is that people often tend to repeatedly provide answers to an already answered questions. Say like about 10 people providing almost same answers to a question. Not forgetting issues & debate that has alwz dragged on in pages too, likewise many of us that comment on a post without editing the posts. Overall, I will plead with our "ever reliable seniors" not to completely abandon questions, as this I believe is part of what has been making the thread informative and lively. Because personally, I doubt if there is any strange/new question that has not been treated on this thread(part1 till date) but we can pls provide answers to the technical ones. To all our great seniors too numerous to mention, once again make una pls, biko, just dey manage the thread for us while I believe our people will surely adjust. 6 Likes |

Referring to Page 1 is even more beneficial than just answering one question and the person will return with another question that has been answered before. The most scary thing is that some people will just be dishing out misleading response to innocent peeps. It is really well o fmsimple: 10 Likes |

%age statuses by month as per Immitracker. Based on my past experience on reaction to this post will start with following disclaimer points ![]() ![]() Yes the immitracker data may not be accurate. As we all know not everyone updates the data there. But I think it is okay. In practical world decisions are taken everyday based on a sample of a data set. If you feel - “Oh I could list N reasons the data is not the right sample" … well yeah I know that BUT unless someone can give us better data, this is all we have. So let’s make peace with it. Immitracker ignores inactive cases. And yes it does impact %ages. However, I think immitracker is correct in ignoring inactive cases. I stand corrected on above. On 9th October there were a lot of cases which went inactive and hence were messing up the %age trends. I was not tracking active cases on regular basis as the numbers didn't change much. But to keep consistency I have now used active case number as on 21st Sep (as that is the only week I had captured number of active cases) Having said all of above, I think this data can still be used to see trends which are useful. The %ages may not be accurate but overall movement is definitely indicative of progress And lastly, if you disagree just ignore! Analysis for last week June had one of the best weeks in recent times. I know it doesn't feel that way based on other cases pending at Sydney. But, I think the flood we saw for CEC Inland on Monday may be a major contributor. July is as slow as June ... and my guess is July may see relatively more delays compared to June in case June is given more preference in December over July cases. In terms of %ages there is hardly any difference between June and July at same time period. August is a winner!! August guys are lucky. Look at their %age completion at end of 3rd month. June was at 18% and July was at 19%. August is at 20%!! And if you look at Immitracker August has done 20% at a much higher base compared to June and July. One possible reason is probably because November was a month of 5 weeks vs 4 weeks that we had before. So that helps with higher percentage. Let's see how they progress now onwards. September is another proof of real slowdown .. At end of 2 months June was 14%, July was 11% and August was 11%. Compared to this September is at just 3%. September also saw MEP move from about 12/14 days post AOR to ~28 days post AOR. So a little slowdown was expected. But this is too much. My guess is sooner or later CIC will have to update their website and change that 6 month number. It will get more and more difficult to justify that number in 2019. Courtesy: Cansha 4 Likes
