SECURITY: EKITI GOVT PRESENTS CASH GIFT TO SLAIN SOLDIER’S WIDOW

Ekiti State Government has presented cash gift to Mrs Aisha Attahiru Abdulquadir, widow of Lance Corporal Attah Abdulquadir, the soldier who lost his life on 24th October 2018 while on duty in Ogotun Ekiti.

Presenting the gift, the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, said the gesture was borne out of government’s concern for the survival of the widow and her son following the death of the family’s breadwinner.

The widow was accompanied by her 3 year-old son, Mustapha.

Oyebanji who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet and Special Services Department, Mrs Olabisi Akindele said Ekiti State Government shared the pains and grief of the deceased’s family and the Nigerian Army; adding that the cash gift was to help the deceased’s wife “start a business and move on”.

The SSG who noted that government appreciated the service of the slain soldier in ensuring security of lives and property along the Ogotun axis where he was stationed, stressed that the Fayemi-led administration would continue to appreciate security personnel for risking their lives to protect the State and its citizens.

Responding, the Brigade Commander of 32 Artillery Brigade Akure, Brigadier General James Ataguba thanked the state government for providing succour for the deceased’s family; stressing that the administration has shown that “it has human feelings”.

Ataguba who was represented by Colonel Uchechukwu Simon said the government’s gesture will encourage all security personnel to put in their best in serving the State.

They shouldn't give her any gift.
She brought it on herself. She must have had other suitors but settled for the soldier because she wanted the 'effizee' of a military wedding.

I don't have any pity for any young girl that marries a soldier.
I see them as masochists who don't want to enjoy a happy marriage because experience has proven that wife of soldiers have a higher propensity of becoming widows.

So if you agreed to marry a soldier, you invariably also agreed to widowhood.

It's a welcome development.
But the Ekiti State government can do better. It should not end at cash gift.
They should ensure the little boy gets the needed educational training .

When i saw Ekiti and cash gift, my mind went immediately to stomach infrastructure, forgetting that that criminal idiot Fayose has left. Now we have sense, decorum and sanity in that state again.

Smh. What is good about it? What about other soldiers who die on a daily basis? Will they also get cash gifts? You people should stop encouraging rubbish. I am not saying the widow should not be taken care of but this is not the way to do it. In the U.S army, any soldier who dies "legally" will automatically have his spouse the beneficiary of 100k within 72hrs and 450k a few months later. It doesn't matter where it happens. There is no such thing like state governments giving cash gifts in normal societies. This is why they rob you guys blind.

I doubt it. As long as it is a Nigerian in charge, it will always be the same.

Lance Corporal Attah Abdulquadir This is a definitely a Northerner. Afonja’s are asslickers and the major problem of this country.
How many Afonja Soldiers died in the northeast? Did the Various state Governments present any cheque to the families of the deceased? Yet this imbecilic and repugnant governor is sharing Ekiti state funds like it is his private property.

Truly Afonja Ajoka!!!!
