Queen Chinonye Joy Olebu, the Miss Imo State Queen Nigeria 2018 has revealed that a visit to Owerri Prison on her birthday has changed the way she saw things, especially where it concerns prison inmates. Queen Joy who marked her birthday on November 29, 2018, said she previously thought the prison was just a place of agony, but never knew people there had their own lives going on for them. “I learned people have studied and graduated from while in prison, some are on their Master's Degree and there are others who are very productive in one way or the other”, she said. After an initial courtesy visit on Mr. Odutan Seye Olukoya, the Deputy Comptroller of Owerri Prisons, Imo State after being appointed as the Coordinator of Imo State Chapter of the Association of Beauty Queens and Kings, Queen Chinonye Joy Olebu decided to celebrate her birthday with the inmates. “When I learned about their needs, I thought it wise to do my bit. Their needs are actually unlimited, but if taken bit by bits, these inmates will have a good life” “We arranged food for about 100 persons; I partnered with some medical personnel who helped in the distribution of medical supplies, but the most amazing part was the grand reception they gave us” “It was amazing seeing inmates that are preachers, singers, dancers and what have you. They entertained us and this will go down as one of the best celebrations I have ever had” Queen Chinonye Joy Olebu who is also the CEO JoyChinonye Foundation, then hailed Mr. Odutan Seye Olukoya whom she described as a father figure to the inmates, thanking him for the grand reception accorded to her and her crew at the Owerri Prisons. Having been crowned Miss Imo State Queen Nigeria 2018 recently, Queen Chinonye Joy Olebu said she already has plans of making a difference in the society with series of projects already lined up before her reign ends. As a dancer, she has already kicked off her ARISE GIRL INITIATIVE which orchestrates ‘GIRL POWER MOB’. Queen Olebu is looking forward to shooting a MOB DANCE of about 100 dancers in Imo State. She is also planning a Hepatitis Awareness Campaign in tertiary institutions; a health outreach in Orsu, her home Local Government Area in Imo State amongst others. https://www.otowngist.com/2018/12/02/how-prison-visit-changed-me-miss-imo-queen-chinonye-olebu/

hatchy: Hey, don't hate. Some part of my mind was helplessly trying to spot a fault or flaw but she is indeed pretty. Anyways, I still have a problem with every Tom, Dick and Harry organising pageantry . There are better things to address and issues to resolve. To the guy who quoted me, man I am not against pageantry as a whole but aren't we being too vain and already glorifying facial beauty. Even primary and secondary schools now organize beauty contest which could sow seeds of discord, could lead to serious inferiority complex, low self esteem and depression among contestants. You need to see the video for Pretty hurts by Beyonce. 17 Likes 1 Share |

I am not a big fan of beauty pageantry because I believe no one is born ugly, the way we see people is a reflection of our soul.. 2 Likes |

NEVER marry a lady who sees herself as an OBJECT of mere satisfaction to the men. Such ladies abound everywhere. They lack grey matter in their crevices. LADIES to avoid when considering marriage in order of decreasing severity include: ....hoteliers ....actresses ....waitresses ....seductress. ....air hostesss ....songstresses ....beauty Queen ....female bankers ....female marketer ....dance hall queens. ....female combatant officers ....the “it doesn’t matter ladies”. ....eye catching front desk officers. ....new generation religious choristers. People will try to put this observation down. Why don’t you closely observe such yourself..? Don't say you were not warned. Most who settled 4 such are yet to find peace of mind. Okafor's law Is always constant Better respect yourself !!!! 5 Likes |

The Nigerian Prisons Service has the worst uniform. Just thinking about their awful uniform deters me from wanting to stay in a Nigerian prison. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

Ehiscotch: Abeg keep quiet. There is no law or anything against organising it. It is a way of empowering girls in the society. If you do good in nija ...peoppe will condemn u. If you do bad...people will condemn u. Do you know how many people the program employed? 1 Like |

The truth is once in a while, like during holidays, we should all visit places such as: hospitals, orphanages, prisons, and even cemetery. Those places let's us know , among other things, that we came empty and we shall go empty, we should be grateful to God for being alive and healthy, thankful for freedom, and we have family and friends. 1 Like |
