damlek7576: How do you measure effectiveness? How does Covenant University being among 3000 best universities in the world translate to lower illiteracy rate in Nigeria? I have met a lot of their graduates who are as dumb as fvck. How does Covenant University being among 3000 universities in the world translate to quality and accessible education? The government makes education more accessible and affordable, so as far as the statistics are, the government has far more impact on society (in terms of university education) than the churches who own universities. |

People Contributed Money To Jesus Ministry. Judas Was His Financial Secretary. On Whether Jesus Paid Tithe, Tithe Is One-tenth Of What You Earn. Jesus Did Not Earn Either Salary Or Wages. He Was Not Also A Businessman. If You Earn, God Commands You To Pay Tithe. Mal 3:10. |

They use juju, some use mild threat and others use human rituals to compel. Yahoo Yahoo do not use force as well. Smallie, this matter is way beyond you. Sorry eh go and read your books |

BluntBoy:I get you but the problem here is u want me to see this matter from your direction only.....and I'm looking it from ur context and in an objective way.... You claim people are paying cos the tactics is that they are threatening people with hell ither stuff like misfortune....so people are afraid and they are paying . right?? However it's the same hell that is used to preach as the outcome of fornicating and other sins these pastors use in preaching....but it doesn't change people from commuting sin..they don't do what their pastor say at the end of the day.... See....u can't say the forcing is the tactics/reason for one thing but isn't for another thing....if pastors can use hell to force people to pay, it would have also stopped people from committing sin and love their neighbour as the Bible say and the world would have become a better place 2 Likes |

2019elections: Something is wrong in your head if you think it is the church fault that there is no progress in Nigeria 51% of Nigerians are Muslims and only about 10 to 15% go to church so how exactly is 15 to 20 % of people responsible for the retrogression of Nigeria besides did the government build industries and then Christian's demolish to build churches? Please direct your foolish thinking to the necessary quaters |

ollah2: Sir...please go and read what God said in Malachi 3:6-15...then come back here to tell us if there are no consequences for not paying tithe as Pastor Adeboye has said. This is God's word not a "Pastor's" word...unless you don't accept it as God's word. Then that is another case entirely! |

It’s high time we stopped ATIKU LATING and hand over the governing of this country to the church if the church are really to blame for Nigeria woes. I know Nigeria will do better with church government like Oyedepo in charge. Yes seriously! |

2019elections: It's not about being a sane person or not...its what God himself said in Malachi 3:6-15. Are you now saying God is now not sane?? It's so funny how people believe what Daddy Freeze is saying but refuse to study their bibles holistically in order to know what God said or didn't say, not what some pastors are saying. |

The Catholic Church receives tithes and offerings, there’s no church in the world that doesn’t receive tithe and support from her congregation, if they don’t, how else will the gospel progress Not every church pay tithe, be sure of what you said. |

ollah2: When you completely read, study, assimilate & understand the bible from Genesis to Revelation by the help of the Holy Spirit AND NOT just what some pastors preached or have said, then you can come & continue this discussion. It's people who have not attained the above that can be deceived or misled by the words of Daddy Freeze, his likes & fake pastors alike! |

1StopRudeness: You can't use reactions to a threat to deny that there were no threats at all. Yes, people commit sins, in spite of threats of hell, but sin is a part of the human nature due to our weaknesses. It is hard to avoid sins, especially unknowingly. However, the argument here is about threat, not people's reactions because people's reactions vary. For instance, if you threaten to beat your children for misbehaving, one of them may change for good but the others may continue to misbehave. You can't justify your threats by saying that it didn't exist because it didn't work on all your children. Yes, the world is sinful in spite of the threats of hell, but even before the threats of hell, the world has always been sinful because of the nature of man. Only God is perfect. Even angels can sin. Sin is powerful and hard to avoid. |

Boboye4slim:. LIE If your fight is against the accountability of Nigerian pastors, that’d be so understandable and logical, but this spilled over outbursts against anything church in Nigeria is in my opinion needless. I have never in my 16 years of existence heard where congregations are coerced to pay tithe or support the church. In winners chapel, there’s even a platform where money are lend to borrowers with no interest, There’s a platform where after every service, food , clothes etc are shared among people that need them. In the cell fellowship centers in Winners Chapel, you can talk to your cell ministers when you are in need and those needs would be met ranging from paying school fees to paying rents and so on, you can’t tell me that’s a lie cuz I am living testimony to that. The buses to and fro Canaanland used to be free until running them became hard, now it’s only free for new converts. So this things aren’t run on leaves but money. And this congregation are always happy to give to the church. After all when people spend huge amount in clubs on liquor, on gamble, or on the needy, on relatives, for friends, on habits, on hubbies.....when people spend on these factors no one complains. So why is that you see giving to church as a waste? You blame the church for our country being the world poverty capital of the world. Do you want winners chapel or redeemed or MFM to start running Nigeria with the contributions of its congregations? Contributions that you still bash them about? Imagine what Bishop Oyedepo has done with covenant University of 10 years, now imagine if he has access to a vast national resources that UI or OAU enjoys. Why are you blaming the church for the nations poverty?? Was Jesus in charge of the nation’s economy in his time? Was he in charge of military? In charge of public hospitals? If you want the church to take over the affairs of Nigeria, why don’t you implore the government to handover to the church?? There’s the government and there’s the church. Both have their functions. The church can only voice out and advise the government on what to do, it’s left for the government to do something about it. I know of course that freeze would spin and spin and grammar everyone against his opinion down but I think at the end of the day he knows the truth. |

BluntBoy: Exactly...u just made all the points, the human nature hasn't changed...man has always been sinful, don't forget greedy, self-centred, haters if their neighbour.....invariably, if u can't use force and cajoling of hell and misfortune to make a man change those sinful nature, how can u cajole him to part with his hard earned money. For him to do that means he will stop beign greedy, self-centred, thinking of the development of a church rather than himself.....and from ur point, no sermon has been able to make man change.. In summary people give becos it comes from their heart..yeah...mayb a couple of sermons make them see the need...but the Nigerians I know are not smiling ooooooo....Nigerians wey dey burn people for street for stealing phone.... |
