Kenya ethnic composition is very similar to Nigeria and the skins tonnes very similar.
Kenya like Nigeria has like 60-70% of it's people Niger-Congo (Bantu, Yoruba, Igbo). It also has about 30-40% of it's people nilotic & afro-asiatic (Hauasa-fulani - are cousin to Somali-Oromos of Kenya)-(Kanuri & North East of Nigeria are similar to Nilotes/South Sudanese-Sani Abacha is just a south sudanase nilote!).

It follows the same south-north configuration - most niger-congo below the middle of kenya & nigeria - and most nilotes-afro-asiatic(cushites) live above it - the south are noted farmers - the north are accomplished cattle keepers.

Most well known Kenyans are nilotic Kalenjin (due to althetic prowess ) and Nilotic Maasai (due to their elegant culture). Only Boko Haram and Sani Abacha are well know Nigerian nilotes.

Most well known Nigerians are Igbos due to their adventure & migration. This is largely true for many countries that lies on the sahara belt -the southern part is mostly bantu - the upper part mostly afro-asiatic with few sprinkle of nilo-saharans (kanuri, nilotes, nubians).

Ignoring the bad behavior of the men you were unfortunate to befriend in Kenya - the dirty eyes - I guess you mean yellowish reddish eyes that is common - this is actually natural due to presence of melanin in the eye. Others could be due to malaria - that remained un-treated and harmless. Others due to dust and other allergies. But overally I think yellow-reddish on the scleral(white part of the eye) is down to melanin.

Observably, most Abuja slums are usually developed around mosques or prayer grounds, where Muslim faithful huddle after prayers daily. Over time, a cluster of people is formed from the worshippers and sellers of food and locally made drinks like zobo, kunnu, fura de nunu and the likes.

People can buy lands almost in any part of the city and develop it to taste, that is why you can find beautiful mansions and gated houses in predominantly low income areas with parts which may pass for a slum.
So, let's say in Mpape suburb, there are neighbourhoods which can pass as a slum, in same Mpape, you'll find more beautiful middleclass estates and houses as you can see from the picture below.
So, in the real sense, those slummish neighbourhoods are not the definition of what Mpape is. They are just an illegal section of Mpape which managed to develop in a short time evading the attention of the environmental authorities. However, they cannot evade the environmental authorities for so long , so they get demolished in a very short time (search google for demolition in Mpape and see for yourself).

***** This is why when you guys mention any Nigerian suburb which you think is a full blown slum, we will show you guys beautiful houses and estates from that same place.
The only place we cannot do that for is Makoko! This is because Makoko is what it is! A full blown slum. A community with a heart of it's own. Lagos state govt has tried to demolish Makoko, but it failed because how do you just destroy an entire community with over a hundred thousand people?

Well I'm not expecting you to get my point. Your per capita figures in most economic indicators are worrying! That big population and GDP should be showing more, that's my point! We are at 50 million and we are pulling impressive figures, SA are at 55 million and their numbers are unmatched by anyone. Nigeria being at 197-200 m should be pulling out much huge numbers commensurate to their GDP and population. It seems something is wrong somewhere!

TZ cement consumption & productions. It appears some guys at SIB (kenya investment banks) threw some wild figures and folks ran with it; the reality in Tanzania is TOTALLY different. The cement industry the last 3yrs has been in SHAMBLE. Our Kenya ARM is on it's deathbed thanks to it's misadventure in Tanzania. As of August 2017 - The industry is dead as DODO. - installed capacity doesn't produce cement.
