Morning my people, I couldn't get a hold of my payslips and I'm submitting tomorrow. Hope it won't be a problem... Do i need to mention that in the cover letter? |

Good morning house, I booked an appointment for thursday but I realised I had an error on the date of birth I input on the system. Please how can I correct this error? Do I need to cancel the appointment and reschedule another? Your candid advise and solution would be appreciated. Thanks |

Help Please am self employed, I don’t pay myself salary . Please what’s the correct answer when asked how much do you earn annually? Tried leaving it vacant but a figure is required. Please what do I input there? |

Who says the applicant cannot raise N1.4m from some place else before the scheduled trip? Its not wise to make a mountain out of a pea sized issue. After all the applicant won't fly free to the UK or sleep on the roadside or eat grass? Money taken out can always be put back. Its no crime. Its not fraudulent. Get money for the trip and jet out. justwise: 1 Like |

Is there a clause in the form that once account statement is printed, funds should not be withdrawn therefrom until the applicant makes and returns from the trip? If there isn't (which is positive as there isn't) then, NO CRIME and or FRAUD is committed. 1 Like |

Bossladyorigina: You don't apply for visa today and meet the requirement tomorrow, if you submitted bank statement declaring that you have the money for the trip then decided to withdraw that money after submitting then that is a misrepresentation because your condition is not as you stated. That is a fraudulent practices. 3 Likes |

Ijeshalomo: you could correct it on your application form by striking it off neatly with single line, write the correct Date of Birth and sign off and insist that page is scanned alongside your supporting documents because application forms are not scanned. Also point it out and include it your cover letter to give you comfort and ensure its not missed out |

I'm not a nairaland person. Please how much of a chance do you have if you stay 3 months in the UK instead of 10days. A friend wants to apply again but the first time he spent almost 3 months. Is there any need to apply? Or should he just forget about it |

justwise: You seem really bent on making a mountain out of a molehill here. Are there not people who have been granted visas without enough money in their accounts? Where the ECO decided to grant them visas based on their inflow & outflow plus other factors on their application eg travel history, family ties, occupation etc. Are there not people who have been denied visas even with fat account balances? The account balance is just 1 of the factors, it’s not necessarily a determining factor all the time.. That said, would you tell me not to withdraw the money in my account if I have some pressing needs just because I have applied for a visa which I plan to use maybe 3months later? Even when I know that I can raise the funds for my trip in those 3months...? There are a lot of reasons why someone may have to use the funds in the account temporarily.... Not everything or everyone is fraudulent... 4 Likes |

shawlar: No i don't know anybody who got a visa without enough money to pay for the trip and if you feels that i'm making too much of it then learn how to use the scroll bar and zip pass my post on this. If you applied for visa and withdraw the money meant for the trip after submitting then that is misrepresentation/fraudulent because the bank statement you presented is not as its. The ECO or the bank doesn't know about your pressing need that made you withdraw the money. People 'build' an account just to show that they have the money for the visa application and return the money to the owner after submitting the application. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

You need to prove to the ECO beyond doubt that you have enough funds to cover cost of your trip and still have enough to lure you back home. In other words, since you're self employed, you need to show that your business capital is separate from your business funds. If you declare your profit as your annual income, you need to show that you're not using 100% of your profit for the trip. This is why paying yourself a salary would have sufficed as it would show clearly that you made room for your business to scale higher by retaining part of your profit for business expansion. Also wise to keep separate bank accounts for business and personal. Tintas: |

shawlar: Na to waka pass win am oh! Seems the oga’s mind on this is made up. It is fraud and misrepresentation to him, all good! To me it isn’t, all good too! What I know is that as long as your application fits the bill at the time you submitted (no negative talk/tag here will reverse this), you are invariably on course. It will be dumb and stupid to not touch monies in your account when pressed for it because of reasons so far proffered. Because of visa? Mtcchhheeewwww! “When you see wetin big pass farm, you go leave farm oh”, this is a saying of my people.... My 6 months statement of Account submitted with an application is the best reflection there’s of my financial situation to the ECO and not these other unnecessarily overflogged considerations please! 2 Likes |

I totally support justwise in this argument. Whether you have inflow or outflow final account balance takes huge factors in visa decision. You can't apply for visa with low balance and expect visa in your PP only if you show some financial proof like FD or TB. Withdrawing funds in your account after showing the ECO you have enough funds for trip In your account statement is totally wrong. 1 Like |

I totally support Justwise too, I know of someone who was denied visa because the person lodged some money in the account even before the visa application and immediately withdrew the money after submitting the application. He was denied visa and the ECO said he was denying her because of false representation. The account was checked and it was found out that the money was withdrawn, na denial jor. Just wise, abeg leave him and let him forge ahead, a word is enough for the wise. Experience is the best teacher. 4 Likes |

I feel I have cause a lot of arguments regarding account issue and thought it's better to share the outcome of my application. Just collect my passport back now and Visa issue. Below are my submission. All my CAC document TCC with nil payment for three years assessment Three different share certificate One building plan and two landed property Wife and daughter birth certificate Personal Bank account with 1.7m balance though account run well, 11m transaction in 6 months Plan to spend 700k for the trip Virgin passport A friend of mine who is an agent help with the application and suggest I leave minimum of 1m balance in the account till decision made. My experience, what matter most is the turnover on your account. 3 Likes |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by bigtt76(f): 8:48pm On Dec 12, 2018 |
That's the problem. You alone can decide that because it's based on how much you've truly earned in a year of work or business and for which you can account for each credit to your bank account (business or personal). A besides that, the ECO wants to know you can truly afford the trip. If I say 2 million naira now, can you account for it in bank statement bearing in mind the ECO would forward same for verification by the bank? Take note also that whatever you state in there (true or false) , sets you up for further scrutiny. To start with what do you trade in or what's your business like? Tintas: |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by bigtt76(f): 8:49pm On Dec 12, 2018 |
Sure. So far you can prove the funds will be available for your trip and is not tied down to.some.other purpose (eg as collateral for a loan etc). Desore: |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by bigtt76(f): 8:54pm On Dec 12, 2018 |
@embolden very true. The ECO wants to see that you're gainfully employed, are able to establish strong ties to your homeland and can afford the trip. All of these you've been able to establish without doubt. Congratulations ab4m: |

Funny how people think shaaa. You're trying to help people be successful with their visa application and someone is arguing and contesting what is the fact. If you don't agree, go on with your application without enough bank balances and see if you will succeed naaa.... E nor pass that justwise: |

Then you are using fraudulent means to buttress your point, good for you sir/Ma. Our moderator very likely know this is a fat lie that constitutes misrepresentation of a high order, because it is capable of defrauding the minds of readers to support your argument. All rent, house expenses and travels are handled by my coy my business account also showed consistent transfer of monthly allowance of 500k or more to my personal account. I didn’t submit my personal account. Tintas: |
