Image of a group of army forces officers in #Sinai wearing the new armor with different levels of protection.

The photo shows clearly how any person using this armor can customize and modify the level of protection by adding more protective plates easily according to each task.

Engineer Corps use this. Totally impractical in a combat scenario.

Then again, what do I know? I'm only a Saffer. grin grin grin

Mauritania, This is probably the only DC-3 in the world with such an extensive ISR configuration. I wonder how sensible this is economically given the lifespan of DC-3 today.

Nice pictures.

I love the idea of mounting ATGM on the Okota APC, very innovative.

Wow..... grin shocked grin

In 2013 it was estimated that approximately 2,000 DC-3s and military derivatives were still flying, a testament to the durability of the design.

All bullet proof vehicles as limit to which they will give up. In real scenarios it's not possible to be fired at and you're not finding a way of escape .

NASRDA unveils Automated Irrigation System to help water farms remotely

During a courtesy visit to the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, a delegation of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASDRA) unveiled its solar-powered Automated Irrigation System.

The irrigation system will help young people and farmers cultivate all year round.

According to a report, Director-General of NASRDA, Prof. Seidu Mohammed who led the delegation said the technology uses signals from navigation satellite to determine locations in terms of longitude and latitude.

The NASRDA boss said Automated Irrigation System would make farming more attractive to young people and help farmers to cultivate all year round.
He said the technology has been tested on different soil types and crop variety. The Automated Irrigation System will make agriculture smarter, precise and more suiting to younger farmers.

The system automatically monitors the farm remotely, triggers irrigation when necessary and sends reports to the farmers device.

While presenting the technology, NASRDA’s Head of Instrumentation Division, Engr. Lanre Daniyan says a farmer can automate all their irrigation needs on their phones from home without being physically present in the farm.

Lanre said the technology is also indigenous as it was built in Nigeria with only a few imported components. He said time and iterations have helped make the Automated Irrigation System cheaper and more efficient.

Recently, the agency reportedly disclosed plans to launch its second agricultural nano satellite into space. Codenamed EDUSAT-2, the satellite will be launched in collaboration with Kwara State based Landmark University.

EDUSAT-2 will have an infrared camera for detecting disease in crops and also help in monitoring large agricultural areas. It would include the monitoring and understanding of crop characteristics and other agricultural purposes.

NASRDA is the national space agency of Nigeria. It is a part of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology and is overseen by the National Council on Space Science Technology.

.
You see, these thing sadly "die" at this stage.
I had a PDF of NASENI researches and I tell you if these researches took off from prototype stage a lot of things in the country would be cheaper due to use of local tech

Each government comes, blows their trumpet and leaves the dust without imprint.
If the private space could tap in, take this prototypes and work around it we could achieve a lot of progress

Thunderbolt yes but US won't sell. The upgraded and refurbished ones are also very expensive.

Refurbished Alpha night vision NVG jets are better for Nigeria. Just $5m per piece, another $50,000 to arm and pilots are just waiting.
For the SU 25, it is very irritating the way some people go on about this armoured, heavily armed, ground attack plane as if it is just available for pick up in a show room.
Everything looks possible and easy when you are commenting on social media.
There are no more SU 25s avail able except Russian, Czech and Ukraine stocks...maybe Libyan stocks too (LOL).
To get those few planes, extend their lives, upgrade them, arm them, train pilots et.c will cost $80m each and we will get them in 2022. It is absolute rubbish for Nigeria to be trying to buy SU 25 . The deal won't even work. The last one was through Israeli firm ELBIT, they charged about $50m per plane. I am sure, all the engineers who were participating in this upgrade offerings have been disbanded and moved to other more exciting projects.

Yak 131 is a much better alternative but even then we must remember that Russian is under partial sanctions. We may not be able to pay for the plane in foreign currency as all transfers for defence purposes through international banks are under watch. We could pay with crude oil but Russia has more oil than Naija.

Imagine a tiny vehicle like this taking out several million dollar tanks with the help on an ATGM purchased for a few thousand dollars, the future of warfare is crazy, just take a look at the situation in Yemen today.

Wow that a crazy number, I bet most of them are in South America,

in 30 year from now we would probably get similar reports regarding the C-130 Hercules, that bird had it first flight in 1954, 64 years ago ! And they’re still going strong
