The forecast for Spanish Clubs in UEFA this season is not looking sunny at all.
Only Barcelona look like they can cut it. Madrid is not there. Atletico is not up to standard. Valencia is already in Europa. So it's advisable the La Liga fanboys rein in their emotions for now.

When l said that the dominance of the Barca and Real in the Champions league and in La Liga seems to be over. I was termed hater and bad belle. But these two teams that turned La Liga into a two team league for over decade are now no longer having it thier way.

They are no longer running away with the league as these two teams have done for over a decade.

Once again the most competitive league in the world has four teams in the last 16 of the Champions league.
for the first time I am fully behind u.
The last time I checked real Madrid was losing to cska

This is the 21st century... Football is all about mony this days. And as far as money is concerned the premier league is well ahead of other leagues...

Let me quote José Mourinho for you here... He said it some years ago in an interview that the competitive nature of the premier league is one of the factors responsible for EPL teams poor performance in Europe and I agree with him 100%.. In other leagues, you can count like 3 or 2 teams who can compete financially with the EPL but in England you have Liverpool, city, man utd, arsenal,Chelsea, spurs and even Everton, wolves,Fulham... Some championship clubs even pay more than some la liga teams... You know its true...
The financial stability of EPL means the competition is stiff. Add to the fact that there is the league cup and FA cup...

Consider this: Barca have a game against Getafe on Saturday and a crucial champions league semi final game against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.. Obviously, Barca can easily field their B team and beat Getafe and their A team face Bayern..
Now, let's say Man city is in the same situation . They face Newcastle on Saturday and Bayern on Wednesday.. Even with their current form, they can't field an entirely B team and expect victory against Newcastle...
Bottom line is, teams like Barca,Madrid,Bayern PSG often perform better than EPL teams in Europe cus they don't have much competition domestically... They cab easily rest some of their best players for domestic games and use them for the UCL...

Its not an excuse but a fact. I can't even remember the last time an EPL team won both the league and UCL in the same season... But Barca and the likes have done it many times..

That being said, stop attacking my Liverpool... Its not like you have won more champions league trophies than us anyway...

Manchester City have only lost 4 games in their last 77 league games, if the league is so competitive I don't think that should be the case. In contrast Barca have already lost 4 games in the last 50 games, not to mention how many Real Madrid have lost. So how come La Liga isn't competitive but Epl is? ManCity can field their B team and defeat Newcastle easily? Who is in Man City's B team? Kompany and Otamendi, Zinchenko, Delph, Gundogan, G.Jesus, Mahrez/Sane, Foden. Just imagine that team against Newcastle, they do not stand a chance at all

You are joking if you think this current Liverpool team will fall to Bayern or Madrid....

Maybe in their own backyard but certainly not at anfield..

Barca fans always picking on EPL teams at the slightest opportunity... Maybe u folks should appeal to join the EPL if the Catalonia dream is achieved.

Manchester United's Nigerian-born Shola Shoretire has become the youngest ever player to appear in the Uefa Youth League at the age of 14 years and 314 days.

The winger was introduced as a substitute during the Reds' 2-1 win at Valencia on Wednesday.

Harvey Neville, the 16-year-old son of England women's manager Phil Neville, also made his debut in the competition.

Nicky Butt's Under-19 team won five and drew one of their Group H fixtures to qualify as winners ahead of Juventus

Tall goalkeepers seem to be dominating Nigeria's football teams nowadays... Nnadozie,Uzoho and Alampasu and this one also.

A 14 year old in an under 19 competition. The boy must be really talented.

England will cap the boy soon at youth level.

Its been confirmed that Morocco won't bid to host the 2019 AFCON.

That puts South Africa as favourite to win the bid although Egypt might step in for Morocco...

Funny enough, should South Africa win the hosting right, our status of having qualified for the AFCON will be revoked until Libya don't beat South Africa and or when we get a point from Seychelles grin

Wallahi. I just don't understand how people manage to follow LA liga teams when they already know the teams that will make the league table top three every year.

It's like watching a movie you've already watched like twenty eight times before. No suspense at all. Boring nonsense. grin.

Abi oo.. Every season its Barca, Madrid and Atletico with Sevilla and occasionally Valencia or Villarreal picking up the crumbs... The EPL isn't like that.. Maybe at some point midway into the season, you can predict who will win the league but u can never predict who will finish in the top4..even the relegation battle is competitive..
The main purpose of watching football is to be entertained, and the EPL obviously trumps other leagues in that aspect..

I thought there is a slot already reserved for the host irrespective if they qualify or not.

I am a little bit disappointed in you. Had u watched man city vs watford. They started dropping form from there managing to win 2-1 .and a thing about man city is they don't win when they played badly unlike Liverpool. BTW with Chelsea form b4 dat match it was clear city will struggle as Chelsea had lost their last 2 games
