gamaliel9: Alata means pepper seller in Yoruba. Some of the earliest traders to the southern part of Ghana are ogbomoso traders who traded a lot in pepper. When the Ghanaian govt sent Nigerians out of Ghana a lot of these traders who have been established for decades there were affected, their properties forfeited, this was before our own retaliatory "ghana must go" ejection. So the term Alata has been used to describe Nigerians for a very long time in Ghana. 3 Likes 1 Share |

BascoVanVeli: the club wanted to ruin him? Or he was just not up to par? So Gerrard is a clown because Umar wasn't good enough and he decided not to use him because as the coach of the second biggest team in Scotland he is always under pressure, does that make him a clown? |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by komekn(m): 5:53pm On Dec 13, 2018 |
Mickael2: I really don't understand your point but it seems negative. Before Sadiq Umar has got anywhere near Rangers, l described him as being very poor in terms of his physicality. Particularly for such a big guy. The Scottish league tries to mimick the EPL in its quest for competitive edge and physicality. It's been essentially a one team league with Celtic for near a decade and prior to that a two team league with Rangers. The rest of the league is just about on par with league one in England. When l said Umar Sadiq would struggle in League one l was called a hater. That's all history now because nits proven. Dapo Mebude 17 year old Nigerian origin striker is considered better than him. But it doesn't mean he is a poor player, just not equipped for the type of football that's physical intense. So he might excel in Eredivisie or the Belguim league. Because it's obvious that he is not going to be playing for Roma. These observation are not done with biased prejudice but from the context of what is required to make it in particular leagues. 1 Like |

Mickael2: Over the past decade which teams have won La Liga ❓ That is a comprehensive answer to your conundrum. The Bundesliga has been dominated by one team for near two decades. Over the past 10 years how many different teams have won the EPL ❓ 1 Like |

rabzy: You are right about that, seems u had stayed in Ghana as well.... Even words like "agoo" which in Yoruba means excuse is the same with the Ga community who occupy central Accra region. I travelled north through kumasi, Tamale, and the upper East region. While in the upper east region "calabaar" means prostitute, I found this amusing because norther Ghana to Accra is just as far as Lagos to sokoto. So how did the word calabar get to mean prostitute there, I later realised that the first set of prostitute where from calabar who moved to settle in the upper east region.... So many cultural and language affinities we share since the British colonization ..... Travelling the coast of West Africa as a Nigerian and seeing our influence all over was really great.. I recognized the power of the Hausa language in Bamako and Ouagadougou.. |

komekn: I love this. From 2009 till now four teams have won the Epl, three teams have won the La Liga. If we extend it down to 1999 it will instantly become 5teams apiece. Now let me tell you that only 5 teams have won the Epl since 1992, just 5! How is that more competitive than the La Liga?? 2 Likes |
