arewafederation: I really pity you guys in the north. The poverty, illiteracy, disease, strife, misery and terrorism capital of the world and the embodiment of everything that is wrong with Nigeria. Judging by the way you guys are still myopically running away from the truth and failing to acknowledge your sorry state, shows that your situation can only get worse going forward!! If I'm from the north, I will certainly be sad and in sobber reflection. Now consider these issues: The North today is home to two of the world's most deadly terrorist groups I.e boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen!! The North today has millions of internally displaced persons with no hope of when they would ever return home!! The North today has over 10 million almajiris roaming aimlessly about with no education, no handwork, no skill but just begging for alms, constituting nuisance and a ready pool for causing anarchy!! The north today is home by far, to the world's largest number of destitute and absolute poor, in fact, poverty in Nigeria is a northern phenomenon and Sanusi, your Kano emir acknowledged this depressing fact!! ASK YOURSELF IF THE NORTH HAS A FUTURE?? WHERE WILL YOU GUYS BE IN SAY 2030 CONSIDERING ALL YOUR CURRENT INDICES One of the major reasons why I support the breakup of Nigeria or at least making its constituent parts semi autonomous is because the North is already finished in all ramifications, and if it were to be a country today, will certainly be a classic textbook failed country!!! What many people in the South who still support Nigeria to remain one as it is do not know is that, for as long as we remain tied with the north, we in the South will equally remain underdeveloped, stagnant, unsafe and at serious risk because the spillover of the anarchy and madness going on in the North will always spread to the South. The North is on self destruct and the earlier people in the South understand that and cut ties with the North or at least minimize it to the barest minimum through semi autonomous regions, the better for us all. Mark this post today, if Buhari returns in 2019, Nigeria will be in serious unprecedented crises that may ultimately lead to its violent breakup. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

Olril18: 1. The north cannot be messed with militarily by any other region. Take that to the bank. 2. From roads to bridges, rails to ports (air & dry), institutions to military formations... no other region in the country beats the North in public infrastructure (excepting Lagos). Just check the Kano skyline of recent, and where current capital projects are located. 3. In the civil service and government in general, northerners always have an advantage in recruitments, appointments and promotions. This would be impossible without political dominance. That's just a tip of the iceberg As for BH, Europe is still fighting the same Islamic extremism (ISIS) so I wonder how you think the challenge is exclusive to the north. If ritualists in the south that are more rampant than BH have not harvested your organs yet, then I have nothing to worry about...you're free to air out your frustration sha in anyway that pleases you 2 Likes |

fk001:Most of you lack knowledge, just basking in your ignorance and undevelopable region, its shameful. Obed-Edom Azikiwe (The father of Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe) was a very influential member of Lord Lugard’s administration. Obed Edom Azikiwe was Lord Lugard’s private secretary. Google his name and read about him. He was the only Nigerian that could read and write well, reason Lord Lugard and British government appointed him as secretary of government then. Sadly, he passed on in 1958, two years before Nigeria’s independence, at the age of 78. Undoubtedly, he would have loved to see his son Zik sworn in as Nigeria’s first Head of State. But fate had a different plan. Peace Through Negotiations It was Obed-Edom Chukwuemeka Azikiwe that drafted – and humanised in accordance with his ability – all the treaties Lugard signed with Nigerian traditional rulers throughout the colonial rule before his death in 1958. He drafted the treaty Lugard signed with the Obong of Calabar, the Sultan of Sokoto, the Oba of Benin, the Alaafin of Oyo that came before Lugard amalgamated Nigeria. Historians have suggested that Azikiwe softened the harshness of many of these treaties. By so doing, he is said to have prevented bloody wars between the British and Nigerian groups by not only softening the harshness of the protectorate agreements, but also persuading both Lugard and powerful Nigerian traditional rulers to come to agreement. Speaking on the issue, a history expert, Omoluabi Olayomi Koiki, suggested that these traditional rulers must have been happy to sign once Mr Azikiwe presented the agreements to them. They seemed to have a lot of trust in Mr Azikiwe. The only traditional ruler who flagrantly refused to sign any treaty unless the phrase “protection” was explained to him was Mazi Jubo Juboha, also known as Jaja of Opobo. Obed-Edom Azikiwe was based in Lugard’s head office at Zungeru. Zungeru was Nigeria’s amalgamation capital. Zungeru was then what Abuja is to Nigeria today. And Lugard’s office was the colonial version of Aso Rock. The senior Azikiwe’s job can be summarised as negotiating to prevent or reduce violence between colonial Britain and Nigerian kingdoms. Obed-Edom Azikiwe should be thanked and honoured for his work in preventing or ending wars between the colonial masters and powerful Nigerian kingdoms. Below is a picture of Edom Azikiwe (Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe's father) sitting with Lord Lugard, this picture was taken before 1914 Almagamation. Note: Igbos were the elite and head of military and even government before the 1966 first coup which was led by Maj. Nzeogwu (an Igbo from Okpanam Asaba, Delta State) and yet Igbos in Southeast didn't abandon him like most Niger Delta do to Igbos when push comes to shove, but Igbos stood by Nzeogwu and fought for him till end. 6 Likes 3 Shares

Racoon: As your father and forefathers found peace? Yes, Lord Lizard is the problem of this country. He is the person that made the East-West road which was started during Obasanjo's regime to be uncompleted till date while billions of naira are allocated to it every year and looted by SS leaders. Lord Lugard is the one that told James Ibori to steal several billions of naira and eventually end up in British jail while his people are suffering at home. Lord Lugard is the same person that opened accounts for imPatience Jonathan's gatemen, cooks, maids and gardeners and thereafter deposited billions of naira in the accounts. After that, Lord Lugard then sneaked to tell Mama Piss Jonathan to go to court and claim the money while her husband was drunk on ogogoro. Lord Lugard is the person that told Goatluck Jonathan to take a bribe of over $1 billion in the Malabu oil deal and share it with his fellow looters. Lord Lugard is the person that used Diezaini Allison-Maduekwe's accounts to loot money all over the world. Lord Lugard then went to tell the British police to arrest her. WE ALL MUST BE MAD. |

efighter:The merging of regions with entirely different belief, value system, culture, tradition, etc gave birth to unwarranted fight for superiority among Nigerian leaders (the founding fathers). This wrong merging of strange bed fellows also led to tribalism, favoritism and biased implementation of national policies and even national employment after independence, which provoked the young military chaps then to revolt against the Nigerian first indigenous government led by Azikiwe and Tafawa Belewa, which led to the biased coup led by an Igbo Military Officer, from which Nigeria entered its path to total destruction. Go and read history before the 1966 coup, what led Major Nzeogwu and other non-Igbo military officers to carry out the first coup was Tafawa Belewa's biased leadership style favoring mostly the core north and their Islamic belief when Nigeria is not an Islamic nation. This biased, tribalistic and corrupt filled government of Tafawa Belewa and Nnamdi Azikiwe provoked the young military guys to attempt a coup to remove all the national leaders then and release Chief Awolowo (who was serving jail term at Enugu prison) whom they believed was more neutral and better to make him the Head of Nigeria's government, but they failed woefully in their implementation of the coup plan and made it turn to an Igbo-agenda coup, sadly So that Lord Lugard's wrong merging of Northern Nigeria (with their entirely different ideology about life) with Southern Nigeria (with a different believe and value system with the north) was the beginning of Nigeria's disaster till date 3 Likes 1 Share |

QuotaSystem:You keep regurgitating fallacies you pulled out of your anus, and yet keep fouling the air with it. "The north cannot be messed with militarily by any other region" according to you, yet you had to run to Britain and Russia as well as Egypt for help to fight Biafra?? While Biafra was using locally developed technology and personnel to whoop your ass you had to beg Egyptians to come and fly the Russian Ilysian bombers to bomb civilians. If not for the blockade on Biafra that resulted in civilian deaths, do you think Biafra would have lost the war?? Check the war casualty statistics for combatants on both sides and tell me who suffered greater losses?? Despite having Britain, Russia and Egypt as well as the middle belt and Yorubas fighting on your side, and a Biafra that was completely blockaded with the help of Cameroon, the war still lasted 3 good years and you guys still lost far more number of soldiers than Biafrans did!!! That was in 1967-70 when there was no boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen. Today, the middle belt will rather die than fight on your side!! Today, with boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen ravaging the north, you still believe you have what it takes to fight?? Continue deceiving yourself, but the reality is that the north is completely screwed with a very bleak future!!! 1 Like 1 Share |

Very factual, the muslims part of India which is now Pakistan was creating too many problems for other Faiths, notably the Hindus and Buddhists, and then they decided to part ways, now can you compare the progress and technological strides India have achieved as a nation compared to Pakistan. This same scenario is playing out in Nigeria, until the Islamic north is separated from the rest of Nigeria, there will be no progress, I swear. LaEvilIMiss: 1 Like |
