Buhari Talks Tough, Says War Against Boko Haram Is ‘fight To Finish’ by 6Ebisco: 7:50pm On Dec 15, 2018 |
President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday declared that the war against Boko Haram “is a fight to the finish”. Buhari made the declaration while addressing the extraordinary summit of Heads of State and Government of the Lake Chad Basin Commission and Benin in Abuja. The President lamented that the Boko Haram crisis had worsened the already bad situation in the Lake Chad region. He lamented that the “Lake Chad region has suffered decades of neglect and poor infrastructural development.” Stressing that the neglect has been worsened by Boko Haram attacks, Buhari called for cooperation from the leaders to tackle insurgency. He stressed that “the time has come for the evil of Boko Haram to be brought to a definitive end.” Buhari urged the leaders to “remain resolute and committed in our collective efforts at attaining peace as well as eradicating terrorism and violent extremism from the sub-region”. “The time has come for the evil of Boko Haram to be brought to a definitive end. “I am sure that this summit will take the right decisions in this regard. This is a fight to the finish. We must, and we will, by the grace of God, wipe out terrorism from our sub-region,” he said. http://mcebiscoo.com/2018/12/15/buhari-talks-tough-says-war-boko-haram-fight-finish/

Ok He lamented that the “Lake Chad region has suffered decades of neglect and poor infrastructural development.” - Is Lake Chad a Nigerian territory? According to Wikipedia, Chad, officially the Republic of Chad, is a landlocked country in north-central Africa. It is bordered by Libya to the north, Sudan to the east, the Central African Republic to the south, Cameroon and Nigeria to the southwest, and Niger to the west. - So what is the business of a Nigerian leader with the neglect and poor infrastructural development in another Republic? 1 Like |

Kenekingisback:When you draw any map of Nigeria, you would notice a lake always attached at the North northeastern part of the map; with an initial estimated hydrological volume/ area of 430,000km2. Apart from the lake being a source of livelihood to more than 1m Nigerians( agriculture wise ,and for domestic purposes too) , it is a strategic border trade route and meeting point for more than 10 million Subsaharan Africans and Arabs bordering Cameroon,Chad, Niger,Nigeria , and CAR for several centuries. The people around the Lake have had their livelihoods seriously threatened as the Lake Chad water disappear over the years due to climate change and negligence from policymakers , with green forages disappearing too and the attendant implications of desertification forcing many hordes of crop farmers, fishermen, herdsmen and dependants on the hydroeconomy and the natural resources around to leave for downsouth Nigeria with the consequent stress on mostly farming communities - situations which PDP mismanaged in its 16years in power; while some who had outrightly lost their livelihoods are easy recruits for terror organizations like BH which also manifested under the PDP administration. May be you might have heared of Lake Chad Basin Commission formed in 1964? OK it is a body formed by pioneer 4 nations of Nigeria,Niger,Cameroon and Chad and later CAR ,Sudan, Libya and Egypt joining. Nigeria contribute about $500,000 annually to the body since we enjoin it more than any of them ,and the security implication of abandoning such a strategic location would have been too costly to a nation like Naija given the BH experience hence a sensible leader like Buhari is spearheading the intergovernmental intervention to solving the Lake Chad debacle . Come FeBuhari 2019, by God's grace, we shall entrust Buhari with these serious responsibilities again. |

This man campaigned for the 2015 election on security with the PROMISE that his gov't will annihilate the bokos if voted into power; fast-forward to a few days to the 2019 election, and yet again he's hoping up and down, PROMISING to annihilate the bokos! But the real tragedy of the situation is that some Nigerians expect that -with some sophisticated rigging- the mofo actually stands a chance of being reelected next year! |

The same BH that have been "technically defeated" then "terribly downgraded" and "lacking the capacity to carry out major attacks" but have now consistently taking to assaulting military formations to loot weapons Meanwhile Nigeria is habouring the 4th.deadly terrorist group in the world while a president is saying "my service chiefs are racking their brains" (https://www.google.com.ng/amp/s/punchng.com/killings-be-patient-my-security-chiefs-racking-their-brains-says-buhari/amp/) and “Nobody can say that we haven’t done well in terms of security, we have done our best, but the way this situation is now, we can only pray,” the president said.
