Why would you close your shop to go after thieves? Are you a security personnel? You have security personnel within your shop who you pay monthly. So, you keep your shop running why the security go after the thieves.

It was Obi who implied that APC closed shop to pursue thieves, which isn't the case with Nigeria. This govt has been working to turn around the economy for good as it fights corruption head-on at the same time.

Meanwhile, we all know PDP plans to loot all that is in the shop.
For 16yrs PDP was on a looting spree up from the president down to their foot soldiers.

Stop contradicting yourself and Obi. Obi never gave any measures to combat the thieves. That was why everyone laughed at his submission yesterday. You can't keep open your shops for looters while your inventory is stolen 24hrs , eventually there will be no shops one day

Do u have any figures to substantiate that the looting is 24hrs.? Do you know what 24hrs looting/stealing means?

Don't you know that, it was when your Mr integrity, started chasing after " thieves" that most foreign investors for the fear of losing out completely, sold off their investment, and converted the proceeds into Dollars, that led to fall in naira?

You are the illiterate here, did obi make emphasis on what to do to curtailed the occurrence and reoccurrence of the stealing? did he mention CCTV?

If you read the op carefully you will deduce that he never supported any of the two he's only making a straight instance and yet you couldn't comprehend because of the level of your brain

Now this is my own stand
Chase the thief and don't close the shop Shikena. You can call your grand mother to stay in the shop because your brother fit be bigger thief in disguise while you pursue the thief.

In this particular context, who closed shop? Did the ministries, departments and agencies stop performing their functions because EFCC were chasing looters and thieves. I ask again, which shops were closed? When? Where? How? Why are we so poor at critical thinking and basic understanding of issues?

Are the looters not there in Nigeria to steal every day? Supporter of stealing is not corruption. You and Obi should hide your face in shame, because you are planning to take us back where stealing is not corruption

So, for how long are you going to close the shop? Perhaps you keep it shut forever? How will you make sales?
If you keep the shop running and employ extra security, you can prevent the looters from emptying the shop. How would they empty the shop when your watchful eyes are on your inventory?

The problem I have with this buhari APC supporters us that most of them are hypocrites. Can they just be truthful to their conscience for once and stop all this bias judgements. I am asking u buhari supporters, can u truly close down ur source of income and livelihood to start chasing thieves? Can't u continue to make money and them plan on security measures? Don't u knw that if u don't meet the need of ur customers just once u stand the risk of loosing them? Like seriously, we have a fundamental problem in this country if people can lie even to their conscience. What is all this!

OP, if you have common sense you wouldn't be asking this question. It is only a thief who made his wealth by fraudulent means that won't close his shop to pursue a thief that stole from him. If you worked hard for your wealth, you won't allow somebody to steal from you and get away with it. If you are a christian, you should know the parable of the lost sheep. Peter Obi is a thief who stole so much from the government when he was governor, that is why he could give such an absurd analogy.
I don't follow party lines but on personality, with due respect to you l know your submission about Peter Obi is totally wrong. This is only Man that will know who spent 8 years as governor without any indictment or mismanagement against him. Let us be objective and constructive in our criticism

How do you justify a shop or business to be opened knowing fully well that proceeds will be taken by thieves. Who even does that
you employ security guards and pay them from your profits.
You can also employ forensic experts to help make sure your books of account are properly kept.

I do understand Peter Obi's manner of thinking because this is the basics mentally backward and corrupt ipob mentality, but such corrupt sentiments coming from a VP candidate from a major political party is just heartbreaking and unfortunate.

Reminds me of GEJ's disastrous stealing is not corruption comment.

Btw, Peter Ob insinuating saying they shut down the country is just plain stupid, dumb and idiotic

As a start up trader in 2011 I had a shop with very little goods, I closed shop went out to get customers, take them to my neighbours' shop and sell the goods at a higher price, give my neighbour his gain, collect my gain... I made a little so I could afford to buy goods with a deposit, sell and bring back the balance to your distributor...
So bros you can run a business without goods in the shop

To be fair to all, Peter Obi and Osibanjo had a fair contest. Who came out tops will remain a matter of debate.

But for me, the highlight of the debate is the logical positions of Obi and Osibanjo on corruption.

Now I know there are millions of entrepreneurs here, and in using Obi's analogy of a shop, if you had a shop, and it got attacked by thieves, would rather open the shop and keep making money while putting in measures to stop further attacks, or would you close shop and forget about losing customers and go after the thieves?

Personally I do not think that closing shop to pursue criminals is the best of approaches but of course I know people might think otherwise.

So what would be your approach if you had a shop attacked by thieves?

Pursuing thieves takes alot of time and time is Money. Hence when u close the Shop to pursue these thieves u will still feed urself and ur family, pay agencies or police to do their job while not making any new income so u will inevitably go bankrupt and may not even recover ur money with that strategy and even if u do recover sm, ur business/shop wud have suffered considerably and u wud have lost most of ur customers old and new also.

Hence it is not wise at all.

comprehension is a big problem for Nigerians.

obi's submission is. . . continue business irregardless of thieves!

osibanjo says. . .we cannot ignore the thieves, something must be done about them

the economy didn't shutdown due to buhari corruption campaign!

why are you all making it seem as if he shutdown the economy due to thieves?

let's be objective!

lets face it buhari started with a whole lot of badluck on his side but he was slow and sluggish in decisions and his carefully selected board were not so creative afterall.
this does not in any way exonerate the opposition which is the same of the same APC of the initial PDP.

lets separate governance from politics. in terms of the former, osibanjo was ryt!

The economy didn't shut down because of Buhari closed down the shop.

Rather he wrecked the economy with exchange control policies which he introduced and which Soludo, Utomi, Sanusi and a host of others stridently condemned.

Osibanjo's comment is idiotic to say the least.

So as a businessman, your main priority is protecting your few inventory from thieves rather than plotting ways to grow your businesses year on year.

His statement shows why he would never do well in business and why Nigeria is stuck in this rot. Show me any business man that values the inventory in this shop to securing new contacts and growing his business. Infact for most Igbo men, the shop is merely for sampling. The main thing is growing contacts and turning over. Shops can get burnt down and the man would still rise again.
