IMPORTANT NOTICE!
Seeing that the reception to the suggestion of having a designated IELTS Tutorial is encouraging, am proposing that instead of clogging the thread with too many messages of "I am interested" & so on, pls I am nominating myself to coordinate and link our IELTS takers with Skywalk(in Abeokuta) and CanadaHome(in Abuja) while we await our volunteer Tutors from other states to connect.
Interested takers can add me up on WhatsApp :08026543600 while Skywalk & CanadaHome shld pls add up also. That way we can have a WhatsApp group & organise strategically.
One plead from me is that we shld all please act maturely during this process and we shld all be fully aware it's FREE.
We as well looking forward to having our "guru" tutors in Lagos and PortHarcourt, & who say we can't even link our guys in Kano together (smiles).
So please let's follow this prompt and not disturb the thread more.@Skywalk & CanadaHome, thanks once again! Also, we can as well have 2 or more tutors per state pls. Especially those who ace IELTS at once with magnificent scores. Please let's try out of our busy schedules create this time for ourselves in this trying periods. God bless!

Please is there a page for people planning to hit the ground running as soon as they arrive. In terms of career. I know everyone is busy but sharing ideas and professional advice will go a long way in helping those coming behind.

If there is already a page for this kindly share the link. Thanks.

Good evening EE family, please I want to ask a question in relation to those that evaluated Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM). My sis already has an ECA for her BSc from ICES. Can she evaluate only the CIPM with WES?
2. For the CIPM, she only did P1 which was 10papers written Feb and August, she didn't start from foundation because she already has a BSc and NIM. Will WES request for her BSc to ascertain how she qualified to write only P1? Your answers and advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thank you. But what's MC?

fmsimple:

Yes. I think it doesn't really invalidate the relationship. Except they are twin brothers that ought to have gotten the BC same day and signature.
If the gentleman in Canada is married, the MC (supposing it has their Dad's name on it) could be added to strengthen the evidence.

Please did you write with BC and were you able to follow-up on your EOR or not? I'm asking for my brother who is reluctant to go for an EOR cos the first one wasn't favourable though he says he's sure he did much better this time.

BC. They sent a mail stating they had received it. UK too sent a mail. When I didn't hear from them after 4weeks, I sent a mail to them and they replied after 2days stating it was ready

Hi, I'm interested in helping someone prepare for their IELTS, I had 8.5,8,9,6 LSRW and 8.5,8,9,8 LSRW in my second attempt. I live in Abuja but will be travelling for Xmas on Thursday but I can still coach the person via WhatsApp till I come back and we can arrange something.

[quote author=SkyWalk12 post=73931063]Exactly. A lot of these test takers already associate the Lagos test centres with failure. Once you go in with that mindset, it takes a lot to fight your way up. That’s why we notice either someone takes the test once, or takes it 4,5,6,7... times. I think you are right @ skywalk. Change of teste center could be helpful, I had three consecutive trials@ Ibadan test centre, at a point once I get into the hall, somethig just tells me that I would lose focus again, cos then, I was having issue hitting the 8.0 mark in the listening band. The first time I had a change of test centre I got 8.5 in the listening test and that was it for me. I think it's a psychological effect.

Good evening everyone!

Please this is question for those who claimed work experience points with NYSC....

When filling out your profile pre-ITA, what did you state in the section that asked “name of employer/company”.....Was it “NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE CORPS” or the name of your ppa?

Please I need a reply ASAP! I need to be sure. Thank you.

Who will give you a reference letter, NYSC or the company? I bet it's the company so go with that.

My take though.

your probably calling them at their peak times, my advice is call them around between 4-5 pm our time, and try not to call them when they on lunch break, or towards 4 pm Canadian time, cos most of the customer reps would be closing their tickets at these times

Our senior oga from the other thread. Where in Lagos are you? I have coached a number of people. I can help you before I leave finally. One on one meetings for a few days. PM me if interested.
PrinceAdeAde:

Am interested but based in Lagos. Can I suggest you do a zoom meeting where you can reach a lot of participants regardless of location. I can help set that up if interested and we can advise the house on the zoom meeting link and time. You can even record and post the video for future refernce. Just my thought

She must be both authorized to work and have a valid job offer in Canada to be exempted from POF.

"You don’t need to show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family to meet the program requirements of the Canadian Experience Class (this includes provincial nominees who are part of the CEC stream).

Note that you do not need proof of funds if you are currently:

authorized to work in Canada and
have a valid job offer"

I think you should do IELTS first and see if your CRS score is high before you conclude finally. Maxing out IELTS no be beans.

Worst come to worst, you friend/boss should be able to provide a job reference from the startup in CIC format. That is the only mandatory requirement.
lordragner:
I have been following silently from the beginning and finally got here. Congrats to everyone who has gotten their PPR and aced their IELTS your success stories has inspired me to give EE a shot.. I have signed up for Ielts in Jan and I hope that I ll also come here to testify at the and of it all. I have some issues that need clarification on and I humbly ask for the opinion of anyone with answers.
I have a B.Eng in petroleum Engineering and Msc in information Technology Engineering (Both Nigerian Degrees), I have 1 year experience with NYSC--physics teacher, 3 years experience as a Web developer (self taught) , worked with a friend in his IT startup (just 3 of us) for 2 years. we did contracts mostly and pay didn't come in regularly every month ( He is currently in the process of registering the business name with CAC). However I left to pursue my M.Sc in 2017. After my Msc, I got CCNA and I'm currently working as a Network administrator (2 months).
I want to build a career as a network engineer and possibly advance into cybersecurity or analytics.

Q--> Would you advise me to go with noc 2281--Computer network technicians. Despite not having up to one year experience or continue with
Web development noc 2175--Web designers and developers, (which is still a side gig for me). Or use NYSC which can be easily substantiated.

NB..i checked the CRS tool, Maxing out my Ielts will put me on 456 with 1 year experience and 481 with 3 years experience.
I am weary of using web developer noc because there are no legal documents (Payslip, Appointment letter, certification etc) to back it up.

Dear, I feel for you. I concur that a bird in hand is worth more, so I will go for option 1. I think 2 and 3 are too risky.

Yes, sponsorship has its own issues, but I think at this point, you should go keep the final goal of the family being united in Canada in view.

Good morning people,

Your advice will be appreciated please....

I am the PA. We had received ITA in september 2018. At the point of submission in November, i realised that my husband's IELTS had expired. After exploring all options, we had to decline the ITA. While back in the pool, I adjusted my profile - my husband as un accompanying spouse. I received another ITA in November -449 cut off (My score without my husband as accompanying was 451). A few days after receipt of ITA, I had a birthday.. In the meantime my husband registered for the 1st of December IELTS. After plenty research, I came to the conclusion that it was possible to make a spouse accompanying after receipt of ITA...providing that the score after adding the spouse meets up to or exceeds the cut off for the draw from which you received an ITA from (In this case, cut off of 449). Unfortunately, my husbands IELTS results came out as 8.5,6.5,6.5,6.5. If I add my husband to the current ITA I have now, the score falls below the cut off of 449. My choices as I see it now are as follows:

1. ahead with the ITA I currently have in which my husband is an un accompanying spouse (please not my IELTS expires on the 7th of January)
2. Decline the ITA I currently have. In this case, I go back into the pool. With my current age and husbands results our score will be 443....then hope and hope that the next ITA will have a cut off of 440 or 442.
3. If the next ITA is above 445, it means I will need to write IELTS again in January. IF I max out on IELTS points, our total points will be about 448.

I feel like a bird in hand is worth more than 10 in the bush oooo. I feel that I should go on with the current ITA I have. If all works out we can apply for spousal sponsorship in future....I have heard that spousal sponsorship is hard... how true is this? What would you all advice?

Thanks a lot
