Athletes represent the highest bidder.

Finally... my question has been answered...

The game was even declared "open" in 2012 meaning international athletes were allowed to participate leaving little room for local ones...particularly in the basketball event

are you saying majority of the medals won by the Niger-delta states were
won by athletes from another state of origin, or are your examples just exceptions? Take delta state for example.

Danielnino00:

Funke Oshonaike representing Rivers state too.. Tobi Amusan representing Delta state..

I lost track of the list... Check out this page on Facebook "making of champions" .. They gave update on the event..

It seems you are related to ngolo kante ?

Sir komekn so many European fake their ages okay

It's ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE unless you are talking of the former Soviet states that are largely under developed. But within WESTERN Europe IMPOSSIBLE.

Do you know you can trace people from.ahe grade competition from age 5/6.

Do you know my primary school activity is recorded and it's very possible to find out my entire progression from primary school age 8 to date. That's pretty much for every one in Western Europe.

Even my prenatal records are there before the hospital records and birth certificate.all in the UK.

In Nigeria you can easily change name l know so many of our guys with multiple pasports and names all with different dates. of birth.

You don fall hand,, Chei !!! so na village you deh since !!! Quick before people know upload and download contemporary knowledge and understanding.

Because U deh disgrace me, after all the hailing I deh give u since.

I agree but nacho have not been playing well ,the thing just dey pain me ,I pray he get back to his feet soon ,even player like Gabriel Jesus just recovered from goal drought .

Gabriel Jesus had no reason to be in a slump because man city create plenty chances but Iheanacho has to feed on scraps at Leicester

Oga...I never made any claim...I just want to know why athletes were representing other States rather than their States of origin since the aim of the game was for sport development in each state of the country... Mind you, there were easterners representing northern states and vice versa.

Tbaba already answered my question anyway....

Iago Aspas admitted falsifying his age to get into an academy. Granted it was in the opposite direction but it did happen so that door is not as shut as you want us to believe

From my research so far most of the medal winners from Delta state are from Delta State. I’m still looking into it.

Modify.
Let me add. If the games is to promote sport development in the individual states it shouldn’t be a matter of state of origin but the state that have contributed most to the athlete’s development. And that what I meant by tribal sentiments earlier.

Lol...Contributed most to the athlete's development in terms of money abi....

Like tbaba said.they represented the highest bidder.
and biko, stop placing too much emphasis on Delta state...I never referred to delta state in my post....Everybody knows that Delta state has contributed a lot of athletes in Nigeria sport...

Anyway, let's hope the performance of the athletes improve at the all Africa games next year

I’m not tbaba.

Oga I already said in my earlier post. If u grew up in Warri, will you rather go to your state of origin to use their sports facilities to train? How feasible will that be? That’s an example kind of contribution I’m taking about. It’s just how many of us are wired. How does competing based on your state of origin — not residence — indicate how well each states have done in sports development? Think am na

Of course I know you had already came to that conclusion before your so called innocent question. Delta State amassed lots of medals. How many were won by athletes from other states of origin? (Or from a particular tribe like you would want us to believe) grin

Amd why are u dodging the salient point I just made. How does competing based on state of origin - not residence - demonstrate the level of sports development in each state?

Modified
Representing a state that did not contribute to your career just because the state is your state of origin is as bad as states buying athletes to compete for them. NSF as an indicator to sports development in each state the context here

Seeing that he is a Nigerian player and has donned our colors for the world cup, we wish the best for him. His goal crazy stint at Crotone attests to the talents that he possesses. We hope that this move can unlock the potential he has so he can deliver for his club and potentially for country again.

Arsenal have always pride themselves as a club that does things with class.

They have a rich history just like few clubs in England to produce great talents in their youth ranks.

Another rising star in the team's armoury is Bukayo Saka, the young England youth international with Nigerian blood running deep in his veins.

Saka was in electrifying form when the Gunners defeated Qarabag 1-0 in their last Europa League Group E game on December 13.

He was similarly impressive in the previous Europa League game against Vorskla Poltava. The game against Qarabag particularly stands out.

The nimble footed forward was named The Man of the Match and was duly praised by Arsenal head coach Unai Emery for his explosive performance.

"Today Saka also played with a good performance, with a very big personality and we were speaking at half-time,'' the Spanish tactician said.

''His personality is very important for us to continue trying to go 1v1 and break lines with his quality.''

Saka has indeed been very positive and impressive just like allvideoslots.com with a huge promise to do better.

Saka is expected to be in Arsenal's squad for Wednesday's quarterfinals Carabao Cup (League Cup) match on Wednesday against Tottenham Hotspur after he was omitted from the U-23 team's match against Blackburn Rovers.

The promising career of this sprightly bright lad beggars the question if the Nigeria Football Federation can convince him to play his senior international football for Nigeria where he has his roots and not England his adopted home.

Bukayo is a boy whose start to his career may be a bit challenging which somewhat explains the meaning of his name but the end looks promising.

He must not be allowed to be another one that got away. His blood bleeds Nigeria!

There's no tribal sentiment in my question.... I followed the tournament well enough and saw names of athletes from different States representing other states... States that they weren't born or lived in..
Somebody like Segun Toriola who is from Kwara represented Rivers state ..

My question was borne out of curiosity since the objective of the game is to promote sport development in each state of the federation...

You should know by now that Nigerians are the biggest tribal folks on the earth surface.

You see how quick he was to say your comment was borne outta tribal sentiments whilst, reverse is the case.
