Watched the closing ceremony and the delta state commissioner was interviewed, asked what has always been the reason behind their success... he said can other states afford to invite athletes from another states and country and pay them well? Food for tot

Finally.. another good answer to my question...
Its all about how well each state can pay the athletes.. Where they are from doesn't matter .
That makes sense..

I hope the national youth games isn't done the same way...

Just read now that bayana bayana will start Wc preparation with friendly against Netherlands who are European champions and 7th in the world, followed by Sweden with 9th in the world .while Nigeria will keep going to useless tourneys without quality teams as preparations.
For me playing this 2 country is better than playing China and other stupid countries
When will naija learn

You call China a stupid country in women football?? Even Canada and Korea?

Ok Sir...till i see "Porto confirms Onuachu arrival"

U are still missing the point. This discussion is about Simmy's move to Basel not Onuachu's speculated move to Porto. Here is the conversations sequentially;

ChrisKels:
Simmy Nwankwo to join FC Basel in January to enhance his Afcon chances...

Bolowolowo:

Great mid tier club. Hopefully the environment will be conducive to his(Simmy's) growth.

gamaliel9:

What does he really bring to the Super Eagle? He is not that clinical..What is special about him?

Bolowolowo:

Seeing that he is a Nigerian player and has donned our colors for the world cup, we wish the best for him. His goal crazy stint at Crotone attests to the talents that he possesses. We hope that this move can unlock the potential he has so he can deliver for his club and potentially for country again.

Now this is where u started missing the point by mixing up Simmy with Onuachu;

gamaliel9:

True but when i see the array of Nigerian talents Porto is wasting....i am alarmed really on that yet to be confirmed move to Porto....Portugal is higher than Denmark but Porto...mbanu...i do not know whose policy there is to buy Nigerian players then frustrate them....Agu,Awaziem,Chidera Eze,Irhene,Yahaya,Nwakali....there was even another new entrant...i have forgotten his name sef....Porto buys them and sends them on loan where they perform well bar Nwakali.....then brings them back to be benched....you understand my fear about that Porto move?

ChrisKels:

Bros no vex oo, did the report read "Onuachu to Porto" or "Simmy Nwankwo to FC Basel"? U mixing it up, scroll back to retrace ur step

gamaliel9:

Ok Sir...till i see "Porto confirms Onuachu arrival"

South Africa played two or three friendlies with Sweden before the AWCON but still couldn't win it... the super eagles played friendlies with Argentina and England begptr the world cup but still couldn't go far...
China,Korea,Canada, Belgium, Slovakia and Austria are decent teams in women football. They mayn't be on top but they will provide the super falcons a good test...

Modified: Canada are ranked no.5 South Korea 14th and China 15th.

seems u have forgotten we have a new coach yet to establish and know his players
Which way is better to test the team and tactics if not on top football countries as they will provide a sterner test or have you forgotten our group where you are punished for any mistake. Better to play top teams so it will be easier aginst small team
For the SE wc it was clear rohr was gambling in those games and our midfield was nought against Croatia

How does athletes competing based on their state of origin - not residency - a reflection of the level of sports development in each state?

Good one from him. But I don't think Aigboun should focus too much attention on getting foreign born players into the u-20 . A lot of them might actually be willing to play for us,but their clubs mayn't allow them. Clubs have the right to stop their players from going for the u-20 AFCON.
Its better we go to the tournament with local players . The FBs can come in after we qualify for the world cup

There are more than a thousand teenage boys of Nigerian origin in the academy system in the English professional football leagues.

That assumption you make, "thier clubs mayn't allow them" is widely off the mark.

A team blends and improves from playing together coaches learn about players learn about the coaches the team, expectations, cultural norms and values.

We go to tournaments with the best players we can get and that in the long term should improve the team and impact on the senior national team positively.

Can l add that there is also nothing like " football age"
these boys are truly young kids and so the idea they will peak very early and fade away doesn't arise.

I say this because they boys we called U20, in the last tournament we were stretching the word U20 to the maximum. And as you know thier is no requirement for MRI apart from the fact that it's untenable to determine age at U20.

At the risk of being called a hater I have a curious observation that I want to point out.

I understand that players lose form but scientifically I believe that you only start losing pace with age. Iheanacho has lost at least two yards of that, I mean dude was at some point allegedly faster than Kayode but watching him now not to mention that he has lost a lot of stamina too. Even when Gabby Jesus was out of form, the pace was still there but the reverse is the case. Can we have this discussion that perhaps this isn't a drop in form for Iheanacho but him slowing down? It seems he peaked when he was 19 or thereabouts which is very very....interesting

You are going to wind up the " KC can do no wrong brigade" and be called a HATER.

You are showing a red flag to a bull.

Here you go again... Where did u see me mention England in my post?

So because of age cheat issues, we should call up only foreign born players with verifiable ages to the u-20?

What happens to the numerous football academies here? or are there no real under 20 footballers in this country again??

Puel about Iheanacho

“I think in his last game he was available between defenders a lot and he made many good runs behind the opponents’ line without receiving good service,”

“We need to improve our play between the attacking players and the midfield, to give a good pass in the right moment.

“For an attacking player or striker, they need good service. We can improve in this and we have progress to make.”

Would you like to be absolutely truthful or would you prefer to pretend that all is well.

I have been to numerous academies in Nigeria and intrinsic to the business model is age creation. If need be a more compliant and untraceable name can be created for you. It's simply how business is done.

You cannot throw the cooker into the bin because the food doesn't taste good.

I am not suggesting that one should be taken over the other. But what I do know is that if you have a standard that is difficult to bypass by comparison. People then confirm to that standard.

Nigerian academies will adapt because thier is genuine competition. The previous system or way of doing will no longer suffice. At the moment it's business as usual nothing has changed. They will then truly seek out genuine young players and invest in thier development.

Unless people are challenged they will not change.

Your proposition is without any substance. It is self justified and self birthed and anchored entirely on your own perception and prejudices.

"As a man thinketh so he is"

The standards of probity and integrity that I apply to all situations dont allow for double standards.

Lie is lie and truth is truth. Because corruption is endemic and widespread l should therefore accept it. And to talk against is being unpatriotic it seems to you.

I condemn age cheating you want to condone it. And then indict me as a hater of all things Nigerian.

I don't know or understand the basic of your argument with JOEBIE, as per NSF
but delta had been topping the tables for as long as I can remember,

the most important thing to note is not buying, but the diversity of the state,

delta is jst like Nigeria, or rather small Nigeria,

and that Tobi amusan might be related to one of the tribes, especially the ITSEKIRIs

Is that what you are proposing??

Did you see the last U20 players w week ago and all the comments about them not my comments by the way Considering those comments and observations they were being called U30 by quite a few.

That question should be directed to yourself and the NFF. Why are we still fielding over age players I can not answer the question ❓ for you
.

The fact remains that players born in Western Europe and other advanced countries have no issues with age creation and or cheating.

However, l do suspect that if we have an over representation of FB players comparative to Nigerian born players strictly by merit. Then local academies will rethink thier strategies and start looking for genuine young players. Because recycling old men will no longer be a acceptable.

On the other hand what if the entire U20 team selection is overwhelming with FB by merit, what will you say

Because it's possible the senior team could mirror the U20 with players all playing abroad.

Is that what worries you, the possibility irrespective of recycling old men that FB players could dominate the team. Even by strict merit.

This behaviour of our academies is historical , l remember when in secondary school. How school would bring in old men to join the school football team to gain the upper hand. No be today this ting start.
