Please, i need an urgent response cos am kinda stuck filling the ds 160 at the point where my kids are asked if they have been 10 printed. We got our 1st visa in 2014. I was for sure ten printed. The kids were a year plus as at then. They travelled 2014 and 2016. They are 6 years plus now. I don't know if i should fill Yes or No to thumb printing cos i dont know if they have been thumb printed and i can't remember what i answered in the previous application. Thanks

They definitely haven't been. Except the rules have changed, a child should be at least 14years to have their biometrics captured.

1.is there any implication for one to choose a nearer interview date for a vacation planned 6month from now?

2.i believe the ds160 Application ID is same with Ds160 confirmation number...can one book appointment without submitting d ds160 form..then submit b4 the interview date..#justcurious!..i have paid for the appointment though but yet to input into my profile. .

Use the same email. Make sure your information is as same as the last time you applied. Except your job and house address has changed. Don't lie on your application.

Things got a lil more worse o, refusals used to be for first timers majorly, it has now cut across everywhere else, from renewals to students and even senior citizens(60 and above)

this is not pleasing to hear o, what could be responsible for the worsening trend,i thought things would have eased up a bit, it was really bad when i applied back in may.

Give most Nigerians a mile and we will take the entire Nation from you. The US unlike many others have been very generous with their fees and visas over the years, sadly we can no longer have this as we flout every of their regulation. And honestly i don't blame them at al. The Other fraction of Nigerians who keep(s) their visa rules are not spared at this time too.

my last renewal took 3 workings days, infact i got a call to pick up, i am here with heart attack over my passport cos i am about to loose the ticket to my first trip elsewhere this weekend and i submitted to renew since 26th November to visit in Jan.

I submitted my passport for renewal alongside my moms. it took a long while before the status changed to administrative processing which was yesterday. Just now, i received a mail saying passport is being returned to dhl office and its only mine. No information about my mom's own. I checked visa status and still both passports show administrative processing. i checked cgi website and all i see is schedule follow up appointment. I sincerely dont kno what to think now as to what is going on. who can shed more light if possible?

I sent a message via my profile to them and after asking for my passport number, they later got back to me today to contact Lagos niv directly. I called one of the US visa lines this morning, and they said from their end, after checking my profile, that I haven't been asked to schedule any appointment. That I should send a mail to Lagos niv to clarify the error. That their system isn't showing I need to schedule an appointment. My passport is still with the embassy. Dhl said it hasn't gotten to them yet when I went there this morning to collect it. I have however sent the mail to lagos niv, no response yet though. but I'm wondering what could be wrong. Why this back and forth. Ceac website says my passport is still undergoing administrative processing. Any suggestions on what to do or I should just wait?

Yours is a 221G refusal already, you will have to schedule an interview for yourself and attend same. However, interview dates are not smiling at the moment at all! All the best....

Did you or Someone related to you and your visa overstay? Did you birth with your visa? Did you get in trouble with the authorities out there at any time? Did you use your visa according to terms? Did you misrepresent anything to them at any time? Well, it is mostly for routine check purposes though.

My "bow-tie" brother, don't expect the trend to improve just yet at all! How on earth? My mind is prepped for the worst in all fairness, it would be stupid of them genuinely not to some extent tighten the noose na.... Things may take up to even a year from now to improve in this regard, but I even doubt that. The elections, the economy and the uncertainty that fills the air can never favor visa pursuit by Nigerians at the moment at all.

I have never used my visa wrongly, haven't gone inside that embassy for interview since my first US visa was issued, I have renewed thrice via Dropbox and yet I'm discomforted by these events, then I wonder how it is in the heart of many. On a good day, if not for one's job and that if relocation was on my plate, I would have 'jejelly' just move now, out of Naija. I however passed through the worries of the 2015 elections, and saw how everywhere became calm thereafter in a far departure from our fears and worries. So, I believe an almighty formula by the elite class will balance this one out too.... They can't afford to rock the boat dumbly!

Hello,am seriously worried..I submitted my application on the 15th of November it’s changed to administrative processing on Monday 18th December and uptill now it’s still showing admin processing..pls what site is cgi and how do I go about it..this heart attack is too much..pls help guys

Just relax and hope for the email that will be sent saying passport is ready for pick-up. The cgi portal is the site that one uses to schedule appointments /Dropbox renewal. I do not know what to make of mine till I get to DHL tomorrow. I pray its a positive response.

1. There is no contraindication to booking an earljer appointment. Available dates are probably 6 months away anyway except you are lucky to get an earlier date. However note that if given a 2 year visa, its usually starts counting on the day if your interview.

2. Its better to stick to rules. Pay, fill your form, book your interview

Reality is some people have no business at the embassy
Our people need to realise that the process of getting a visa especially to the US is not trail and error nor is it a "try your luck thing". I dare say that the probability of being issued a visa is very very low is you don't have genuine intentions.
