Carlos grunts, infuriated by his thoughts...

"And with the way your business is going, i dont see money coming from anywhere except the company..., the board members are angry...,they are angry you sold the shares to someone who isn't ready to invest..., if care is not taking they will vote you out and you'll lose everything....,becoming the chairman of the elite party is your only cheque......"

Carlos snort.., he thought about his business, he wonder who has been cutting off his customers and putting a dead target on his links....

"Who do you think is messing around with my business...? He ask anxiously, exasperation slowly creeping way into him...

Buzo took another swig... "I don't know, but i can only think of one person,and that's Mayo..., he will do anything to put you down so he could win the election..., he wants to be ahead of you and us all in wealth and in power... "

Jacob huff... "What do you suggest i do....?

Pious face muscles tickled with a smile... "Let me tell you a story.., there was a boy who stayed with his aunt, the aunt was old and this boy took care of her, on rainy days and sunny days, the boy was always there, he never goes away.., and then one day..., The lost woman's son showed up..., the woman was happy that her prodigal son had finally returned home... "He pause, suck his teeth and continue...."The son took the mother under his wing.., doing everything the boy does but his was quite different.., he showed her love.., take her out to see the stars..., the woman was glad.., extremely joyful for having such a son... "

"I guess the boy was bitter.... "Jacob cut in.. Jaw dropped

Pious flicked his finger.., another wry smile formed in the corners of his mouth.. "Yes he was, but not because the son showed up.... "

"Because the woman wasn't giving him much attention like before.... "Jacob interjects....

"You must be very brilliant my friend... "Pious said with a chuckle...

Jacob scoffs.. "I attend the best school...., so what happened to the woman, did she die leaving her property for her son and neglecting the one who had stayed with her before her runaway son showed up.. ?

"Quite the opposite Jacob... "He raise his left leg on his right, his fingers under his jaw.... "The boy knew if he didn't do anything, the aunt might give the bigger portion of the property to her son, and his the lowest... "

"So he killed the boy..?

Pious huffs... "He killed them both...., mother and son varnished...."

"He killed the mother...? Jacob ask with bugged-eyes

"If he had left the mother alive, she would have guess the boy was responsible and he might have end up not having anything and wined up in jail, so he did what he had to do.., he killed them both.., luckily for him, the woman hasn't renewed her will.., the boy took everything and today, he's living large..., in enormous luxury... "

"I can't kill my father... "Jacob muttered....

Pious dropped his hand and carried his cocktail again... "A drink to that.. "He said with an eyeshot..

Jacob swallowed, Pious story ringing and making waves in his head.., what if his father ends up giving everything to his new son.... ,he wave the thought away, there have to be another way...,a simpler way to get rid of his so called step brother....

Birds trill, sweetly high, the chorus as playful as the birds themselves. With closed eyes, Dillan imagine their music to be colours, painting stairs in the same way grapevines grow - this way and that, in a beautiful chaos that isn't quite random. In the calm of the day, his heartbeat seem to be the steady drum to their melody and he seep into the moment, allowing himself to climb those rainbow stairs....

He adjusted himself on the chair not bothering to look at the guards standing near him. His still scrawny legs dangled over edge just like they had when he was small, but now his toes tapped the long legs of the chair as he sat back and listened to his music. With eyes closed he let the lyrics flood him like an early summer breeze. They weren't always upbeat, but they soothed him just the same. If these singers felt just like him, maybe the world would have been a better place...

He began to nod his head to the lyrics and sound beat of the music allowing it take over him, overwhelmed him.....

"I can see someone is mollified.... "Bianca said from behind him...

She rolled her eyes when he didn't hear because of the loud volume of the music...

"Helloo... "She said again..

Dillan quickly turn around to face her.., removing the earpiece from his ears...

"How dare you disrupt my downbeat moment.... "Dillan raved..

Bianca swallowed irritably..., she shift her gaze to the guards and they look away...

"Hello guys, can you excuse me and the king... "Bianca said

The guards didn't move an inch, but glance at at Dillan instead ...

"Are you deaf... ?,Dillan yelled......"She said you should leave.. "

The guards left with a full stomach of embarrassment, raining curses on Dillan in their thoughts.....

"Am sorry i interrupted your calm moment.., i must confess since you became king, this is the first time am seeing you as cool as a cucumber... "

"What i discuss with the elders isn't your business guardian and it seems you have nothing important to say.., so we'll call it a day, i have far more better things to do than sit here and jubble words with you... "

"And you said you weren't eavesdropping... "Dillan said removing the earpiece..

"I wasn't.., i overheard that when passing... "

Bianca scoffs... "Are you always like this or you're just acting up for people to fear you.... ?

Bianca puff, a smile beeming in the corners of her gorgeous lips..... "No one will allow it... "

"My throne....! He purred..... "What about my throne... ?

Dillan snort and calm his nerves.... " I should have known you're delirious... "

Bianca pout, then she drew her face closer to his.... "Like i said they lurk in the shadow, you just have to look closely and you shall see their faces... "

"Tell me.... "He retorted with furious eyes...

"Don't be in a rush.., telling you now will want to make you kill them.... "

Dillan grunts, anger feathering frown lines on his forehead..., hands clenching into fist... "Are you making fun of me....?

"I will tell you when we get there, but first you need to promise..., secrets for greater heights..... "

"Do you want me to force it out of your mouth....?Dillan retorted

Bianca swallowed and lean her back on the chair.... "Am the only trustworthy person you have around here your majesty..., the rest..., they're just planning your doom, just like they planned your brother's and my friend Zara..."

"You're making no sense with what you're saying..., Your murderous friend killed my brother because she couldn't handle her jealousy.. "

"You have no idea what's going on here..... "

Dillan gave her a stony look... "Look here guardian.., for your own sake, i suggest you stop messing around with me..... "

"Have you bother looking at the pictures of the late king sons....?

"Why would i look at them....? Dillan ask irritated

"Because you might see the ghost of one living with you here.... "

"The princes are dead......"

"Exactly what am saying your majesty.., they're dead but their ghost walk among us.., if you can find the pictures, take a clearer view at them, maybe then the scale will fall off your eyes and you'll be able to see one of the ghost lurking in the shadows waiting patiently like a serpent.....,sooner or later he's going to strike and you will be dragged down from your throne....., so if i were you, i will get rid of the ghost before it strikes....., that is, if you still want to sit on the throne.... "

"No one will take my throne from me... "Dillan snarled

"Then find those pictures.., look closely...., the ghost is not far away..., get rid of the smaller ghost, then go for the big one, else your reign will be stopped even before it begans..."
