I see the reason why most of our so called Bsc Holders and so called graduates are finding it difficult to secure a job. The way we think is so horrible why in the world would someone say this is a political score? When has it become a norms for bank to carry money around in suitcases? Where did the bullion vans go to? Its pathetic

What society allows two nondescript civilian individuals to transport millions of dollars in cash?

Ever heard of money laundering laws?

Have you ever traveled?

Try it with just $10,000 in cash undeclared.

If d bank allows its staff to carry d cash without using bullion van, who are we to question. If d bank&bankers warehouse took responsibility, then it shows approval was obtained at d highest level

Inter state transfer of million of dollars through bullion vans is risky as hell.

I trust air transport more. The possibility for armed robbery is seriously reduced.

I am sure that is what the bank thought.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission announced in a statement Friday evening that two men were arrested at Akanu Ibiam International Airport with a combi
“We made serious efforts to get Union Bank officials in Enugu and other parts of the country to confirm details of the money, but there was no one ready to cooperate with us,” Mr Orilade said. “We then decided to count the money before the suspects and took it to the CBN in Enugu where it was deposited and records taken.”
Mr Orilade said as of 4:00 p.m. Friday, Union Bank representatives had not come around to claim the money or ask about their staff members arrested.
“It was after we released a statement to the media that they started calling and making noise,” the spokesperson said.

EFCC official should take it easy with Union Bank. This is how the operations of the bank has been. This is not strange to their customers nationwide.

So, efcc, please take it easy with analogous Union Bank

Union bank is analogue of course z but they are reliable and consistent. it's a rule of business wisdom to know that simplicity with consistency is better than sophistication lacking consistency.

Diamond just crashed, to be acquired by access bank, the same way the erstwhile Intercontinental crashed into access, recently, hope you heard that news. Union bank is still standing.

union bank is simple and consistent.

Documents and IDs in a country famous for 419 and forging official seals and documents?

I asked why there isn't a groundwork of understanding between the EFCC and the banks who do CIT of forex beforehand.

I wonder if the EFCC did nothing and it turns out this is a case of money laundering, I wonder the insult to EFCC and buhari

Life isn't about buhari and efcc don't be sentimental here.

Does the word verification make sense to you or u still want to argue? Was there calls made direct to union Bank since those boys got union bank letters and ID? Or they were just in a rush to make headline for apprehending big fish. Just off your phone and advice your self young man.

There is more to this story than what Union bank is disclosing. EFCC officials are not fools, they won’t have arrested the guys and make it public if there is nothing suspicious about the movement. I suspect the money was been laundered by the bank for a particular politician. There is a law that requires all travelers to disclose cash that is above $10k; did they disclose the cash before boarding the flight? I will wait for further disclosures from EFCC before taking a categorical position.
Your head dey there.

You miss the point! The point is not how other banks also move cash but the propriety or otherwise of doing so in the manner now disclosed!! No armed guard. It endangers the life of the couriers and folks who share the same commercial flights with them. Folks will do anything to get at a billion Naira in forex even if they die trying! Chartered flights are better.
