Mary Poppins.

Lots of singing and dancing and magical interactions for children.

Regular snooze fest. Dozed through most of the movie but the kids loved it.

I'm happy that you guys are having such debates. This is what moves this thread.

That being said, Thanos's motivation or conviction is logically sound.

In economics, there is a popular economic theory called Malthusianism. Malthusianism (from Thomas Malthus) is the idea that population growth is potentially exponential while the growth of the food supply is linear. This simply means that population will always outgrow food supply at a certain point in time.

The consequence of this theory is that there has to be population control or our resources will be overwhelmed. There are many economists (neo-malthusians) who subscribe to this idea and they believe that there should be controls on the population such as birth control.

In short, Thanos is the product of an extreme mathulsian method of thinking- instead of birth control, just kill some of the population.

Thanos's thinking is well grounded in reality. I find his convictions not to be unrealistic.

And to those who are claiming that Thanos also wiped out animals and plants, you are forgetting that we have enough food in the world for everybody. Halving the population and the animals and plants would not make the matters worse. In fact, it would actually prolong the inevitable food shortage for many many years-- because it would take the world's population about 45 years to first repopulate from the "halving" and then many more years to outrun food production.

Mind you.. A great movie like Logan did not get a golden globe nomination during it's time.

These awards are sometimes used as tools for political correctness and SJW's.

A movie like Moonlight got undue got undue recognition just to pander to the LGBT populace in America.

So why should I celebrate BP's nomination
Is it because I'm black... Nah!

Most people agree that the movie is overrated.
It's not even one of the best 10 movies of the year to start with.

Lol, so Black panther is not in the top 10 movies of the year?!! See what happens when you feel too smart? grin

If you google "top 10 movies of 2018" on your laptop, the first movie that is pictured is actually Black Panther (followed by Avengers).

For once, DC did not f4ck up. This is a great movie. It is visually appealing. There is beautiful action. There is good music (background/soundtrack).

Although, I have problems with the pacing. Things moved a bit too quickly.

I also had another problem. The costumes for the Queen and princess were too hot and skintight. I was almost regretting that I did not carry vaseline into the cinema hall.

This is another great movie. A transformer movie where they focused on character development. You cannot help but fall in love with the main character and Bumblebee himself.

I also like the nonstalgia from the 80s music. cry These are tears from reminiscing my youth.....

Before this Thanos argument, I used to believe that movie was devoid of imperfection, but I was wrong, thanks to you guys.

Come to think of it, there is a strong possibility that Collateral damage due to accidents will eliminate a fair percentage of the remaining 50% immediately, then in the coming weeks, infrastructure failure will claim more lives, (imagine Chernobyl on a global scale level or even worst, considering how Tony tweaks the power in their universe, all in the name of alternative power supply) inaccessibility to emergency services, hospital care, medical supply delivery,
hospital care, will claim millions more.

We witnessed helicopterscareening into buildings and SUVsspinning through traffic, I imagined how horrific offscreen scenarios will look like. Half the world’s buses just careened off the roads. Half of all trains just lost their brakemen. How much of the world’spopulation is in transit at this moment? How many people are being operated on at this moment? Due-in-hours pregnant women suddenly feelmuch lighter. What about someone vanishing on their way to the hospital, leaving their healthy, just-about-to-be-born charges falling to the ground?

At the end,TOTAL DEAD =50% + (immediate accidents)% +(infrastructure
failures)%......Thanos in a bid to restore balance, brought armageddon & chaos. If any of the aforementioned above fails to reflect in the infinity war ENDGAME come next year, then, that's going to be a massive pothole.

I quite agree with you on some aspect of the bolded, but you fail to grasp the immediate effect of what Thanos did, if you go through my earlier post, you'll see that the possibility of earth repopulating from its' halved state in the next 45years, is totally impracticable.

Thanos thinking wasn't anywhere grounded in reality he was only trying to prove a point to himself that his methods was right, without sitting down to critically analyze the results of his actions. He thus complicated matters, what of the ultra- rich who survived the snap, they'll eventually become richer or were you expecting them to become more charitable in the ensuing panic??.. Resources was never & will never be evenly distributed, take note.

If half of the economy just vanished, demand for most goods and services just instantly plummets except crisis management, demand will certainly go through the roof, while supply will fall drastically, most essential commodities will assume luxury goods & many of the proletariat will not survive. How does a global economy survive such shocks?

War and suffering must always come before peace.

Europe survived the Black plague.

What you even fail to grasp is that there are people in real life who actually believe in culling the herd to save resources. We call them psychopaths. There are people who want the whole of Northern Nigeria to be annihilated for the progress of Nigeria. Hitler wanted to exterminate Jews.

If Thanos plan did not have a flaw, then he would be the saviour of the universe- a good guy. It is the flaw that makes it evil. The plan is realistic for a bad guy
