Nigerian police

This lady should be nowhere close to a rifle. Her finger is just on the trigger all through the photos.

Who does that? Damn!!

The photos show they were taken over a couple of days, perhaps weeks. And all through that time this armed police officer did not realize her finger shouldn't be on the trigger.

This is terrible!

It seems like the training the rank and file of Nigerian security agencies receive is nothing to write home about and calls for very grave concern.

The training and doctrine of the NPF need total overhaul they should be ashamed that the Navy and Airforce are doing their constitutional role
It is impressive to see MOPOL with side arm.

That’s not a babe, but yeah i agree that the training for NPF is terrible, how do you pull a pistol that is holstered in this manner, by the way this error is very common and I see VIPs in Abuja being accompanied by police men doing this all the time.

Nigeria needs six more pre-owned but modernized Alpha jets for attrition replacement and CAS capability sustainance. They are coming very cheap and we need to load up on them and weaponize them with PGMs

The Nigerian Army on Saturday said it had evolved new technologies in army uniforms and application of drones in the campaign against Boko Haram insurgents in the northeast, NAN reports.
.
.
Tukur Buratai, the Chief of Army Staff, COAS, said applications of drones and new technologies were critical in modern warfare to ensure successful implementation of the counter insurgency campaign. .
.
Mr Buratai said: “now, even the uniform is technology-based, it will be tagged wherever you are; it sends signal when you are in danger, and these issues are very important. .
.
Technology is playing important role in warfare and we are not left out; we have in place a transformation and innovation department. .
.
The department is working on research and developments not only on basic equipment but equally more scientific and technological facilities to enable us to carry out our operations. .
.
We are also working on deployment of drones, the Nigerian Air Force has been deploying drones in our operations in the northeast and they are deploying more, it has been very effective in this operation. .
.
For surveillance, local drones are deployed and when new ones are also deployed, it will be effective and useful in the operation.”

Frankly, this is not a discussion thread. it is merely an avenue for the eternal glorification of the Nigerian armed forces. No narrative to the contrary is tolerated. One day the monster you and others like you are wholeheartedly supporting will eat you up.

I realised this late also, .... I've learnt to just appreciate the pictures and not get triggered....

I enjoy this thread, actually I love the pictures the guys put up.
I LOVE THE NIGERIA ARMED FORCES!!! When I see pictures of military procurement, it gives me great joy and hope.
I know we will win the war against insurgency, The men of the armed forces and police fighting these insurgents are not cowards. I believe it is wrong for anybody to call them that.

BUT

1) the war against insurgency is not just a military engagement,
It is an ideological war and this is a Government problem not just a military problem. People are susceptible to jihadist influence when they are poor and uneducated. No matter the number of these people you kill, more will rise up and join their cause.

2) you don't force or blackmail people to love or support you.
If you do, then you are also a terror to them.
When people speak ill of the Nigeria military it is because of experience. (Please I am not being political but) you don't kill Shiites, kill ipob, kill Niger deltans (Odi, gbaramatu etc) kill, kill, kill, innocent civilians AND WONDER WHY PEOPLE DONT SUPPORT YOU.
Please if you are in Port Harcourt, tomorrow morning, 7am, listen to Rhythm 93.7 news, you will hear an advert of an oil producing community (kula or kola kingdom, I don't know the spelling, complaining of navy personnel protecting shell installation in their community raping women and harassing men. they have tried all avenues to get justice - nothing! you know what will happen in future? Their children will grow up hating military personnel or will aspire to join military so that they can "be above the law and powerful over bloody civilians"

Without a country, there is no military! That's why it is "Nigeria" Army.
What makes us Nigeria? A CONSTITUTION.

This constitution guarantees "right to life"
I hope some of us will understand this.

As I said in my initial post, I don't blame the military. I blame the system that recruits, trains, takes care of, and supervises the military.

It's the same system that keeps Nigeria as a whole backward and corrupt. It's not just a military problem.

You don't have to like anything I have said, I don't know if I am part of the cockroaches someone above mentioned or the people who should be banned. If I am, pleeeaaaase go ahead. It is your thread.

one day, when you are a victim,
- when your daughter is raped and the police does nothing about it,
- when you rush your family member to govt hospital and they neglect the person until the person dies,
- when your child is denied employment because of tribe,
- when robbers enter your house and police extorts you to solve your case,
- when you are fed up and try to leave the country but denied visa, and if you successsfully leave, you are illegally arrested and deported but Nigeria embassy cant help you
- when you lose a family member to extrajudicial killing and nobody is tried

you will run to social media and other media outlets to rant, Nigerians will call you opposition .....because blind PATRIOTISM.

Wow! This is deep and so true. But I respectfully disagree that we will win the insurgency war. The reason is that the elite see it as a milk cow pure and simple and are getting frightfully rich procuring obsolete equipment at many times the cost of new ones. Read the reports of probes on this matter and you will surely weep. The troops whose lives are being used to play ping pong can't complain for fear of being labelled treasonous. Imagine sending them off to war with only 2 filled AK 47 magazines apiece or buying 40 year old expired bullets from DICON.

More, the army has already lost the battle for the hearts and minds of the citizenry. No one trusts or respects them and they are widely seen as an army of occupation who are determined to be extremely brutal and bloodthirsty. I vividly remember earlier this year when they wanted to do a vaccination program. People everywhere refused and some parents even seriously injured themselves scaling fences to "rescue" their wards from being vaccinated by the army medical corps. There was even widespread panic to the extent that they were forced to stop their vaccination. That is how much the citizenry trust the army.

In my opinion there is no army worth the name. What we currently have is an undisciplined and absudly incompetent mob that win gold medals in bullying and harassing the populace. If there is actually an army they wouldn't spend the majority of their time harassing, beating, raping and killing the citizenry for fun. Ask around you; nearly every person in Naija has had an unpleasant encounter with them. That is why your tale about the Kola Kingdom comes as no surprise. Nothing of course will be done to the rapists and if the people being raped and assaulted dare to complain and protest they will be labeled terrorists, agitators and neerdo wells and get either imprisoned or killed.

I used to enjoy this thread but not anymore. The fact that people here actually support the documented atrocities of the army and cook up lies to defend same is a major turn off. I won't be showing up again.

Citizens of Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara state are currently protesting along Gusau-Zaria road over incessant killings in the state, DAILY NIGERIAN can exclusively report.

Our correspondent gathered that the protesters who are mostly women have taken to streets blocking all roads as well as destroying campaign posters and billboards of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The protesters are also calling for the resignation of President Buhari and Governor Abdulaziz Yari over what they described as negligence by these constituted authorities.

Details later…

I expected more from this administration especially in terms of security. We can all see for ourselves that we have been defrauded

We gladly run to the news to tell of how many tens of thousands of policemen & NSCdC we deploy for elections. Apparently, the ballot box and papers are more useful than human beings

President Muhammadu Buhari has strongly condemned the killing of innocent Nigerians in Birnin Magaji community in Tsafe Local Government Area and Magami community in Faru District of Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, following attacks by suspected armed bandits.

A statement by presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu quotes the president as saying:

“These horrendous acts of violence are crimes against humanity. This violence must stop” .

Mr.Buhari condoled with the families of those killed in the attacks, the government and people of Zamfara State, and wished those injured a speedy recovery.

The President, who has authorized an assessment trip to Zamfara and Sokoto States by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Abubakar Baba Sadiq on Christmas and Boxing days, reassured residents of States plagued by armed bandits, including Zamfara, Sokoto, Kaduna, Niger and Taraba, that their safety is an enduring commitment of his administration and he will continue to ensure that security agencies work round the clock to protect local populations.

The statement added that the president is considering setting up a major operation by the Nigerian Armed Forces, Police, Department of State Services and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps to restore peace and stability in the region.

President Buhari who thanked the Nigeria Police Force, which has already deployed Special Forces in each of the local government in Zamfara State and the Defence Headquarters’ deployment of a Special Military Intervention Force comprising more than 1,000 personnel to respond to the security challenges in the North Central and North West also vowed to flush out the bandits from wherever they are.

He also commended Nigerians for their support to our security agencies who have continued to demonstrate dedication, commitment and bravery even in very difficult and complex operations.

Suanu's Blog had earlier reported of a violent protests in Zamfara State today over the incessant lost of lives and property with little or no concrete efforts by governments at all levels to end the barbarism.

US foreign policy in the past two decades, as it concerns the Middle east and Africa, has been very incoherent and destabilising. It is perfectly rational for trump, as a nationalist, to put a stop to thousands of American soldiers dying on foreign soil for flimsy interventionist reasons.

Let the Americans go, perhaps we will see more stability in the region.

Syria downed couple of US aircraft? In which reality did that happen?
Assad won't dare attack US aircrafts, I mean, what's the point? There are US troops in Syrian territory, why didn't Assad attack them? He do that and its over for him, no joke.
And to say the US military is leaving out of fear of Russia? What are you talking about dude
US packing up is indeed a victory for Syria, Iran and Russia, i support all those countries, but let's not twist things and make it all sound weird lol.
No such thing as US being scared of Russia

Russia is a waning power, and they will barely stand a chance if the US and it's allies had half the mind to decisively deal with them(economically). What they fail to understand is that no country can be superpower without first forging a vast network of international alliances(I mean, look at China). In retrospect, both the Russians and the whole world, should thank their stars that Hillary didn't win the election.

It wasn't fear that sent the Americans packing.
