Yes, there is surge, and yes there's a place for hard work or smart work, but after investing in the Uber and Taxify system for about over 2 months running now, I can categorically say, 90% of drivers cheat and inflate fares by gps manipulation or app manipulation. Finally I understand why android is usually the preferred phone because it's open to manipulation. Met one driver one time, had a gist, 3 trips and he already made 23k because of SALT n PEPPER. Now it's easy to tag other drivers not making that much money lazy if you're outside the system and don't know what's going on in the system. No! They are not lazy, well at least not all of them. They are just HONEST people. My Uber/Taxify investment adventure ends this December. It's a bad investment for honest people.

I am currently done with my driving lesson, I'm now praying to God to send me someone who will assist me financially In getting my driving license and get me along In this wonderful business. I want to be more productive this coming new year. May God continue to grant u all Journey mercies to and fro. May God continue to bless u and your family abundantly. Amen. I'm wishing u all a peaceful, wonderful, prosperous merry christmas and a happy new Year.
you can't just finish taking driving lesson and start driving professionally immediately.... You need to drive and have experience driving for at least 1 year before you can try this business... If not na riders and their consistent poor rating that will send you packing, and that's if one didn't report you out rightly

I need a car for higher purchase.... Toyota Corolla, toyota sienna, Hyundai accent, Hyundai Elantra or Kia. To pay 100k monthly.... 100 is good with no story. I want to use it for my business, Uber/taxify and other ideas on the list. Besides, my wife works with one of financial institution, so it's a backup payment. For every 30th of the months you get your pay.

Nigerian well carefully used car or tokumbo car

If not that I know where it pinches in this business as a previous driver, I would have been rating many drivers 1-3 only. Imagine one old papa use talk deceive me. The trip from the airport to my house that is usually 1300, I saw 1890 and there was no surge then....last month and he didn't have change too. Along the way, the guy claimed his booty was open and went banging it and added salt and pepper to the fare.
Another today wanted to take Adeola Odeku through Osborn back to Mainland from Federal Palace Ahmadu Bello way and I insisted on the correct route. The guy was driving at 120-130km on 3MB this evening, some others will so talk till you feel like slapping them. My niceties ends this year. If you do anyhow, I slam you 1star.

on the contrary Sir, not all drivers with inflated fares use salt and pepper. As at 2/3 weeks ago; I was having inflated fare on my uber app, I would have thought my phone's gps was the one adding extra kilometres to the trip but this doesn't apply to taxify. At a point, I had to write to uber severally till it changed.

Haba, after 2 months on Uber. Did he recoup his investment in One month ni. grin grin cheesy

I remembered when I want to start, I have my exit strategy in place.

There is a target, projection, estimate and assumed figures but none of it includes exiting after 2 months although I didn't buy a car for the sole purpose of doing Uber business, I bought the car for personal use and till the end of our agreement, our agreed rental didn't change from 35k a week.

Each investor here, I believe had an exit plan from the beginning, if you don't have any, it is not too late to have one now.

As for people collecting 20-25k per week for rental and people arguing with then not to collect it, well in business we all have different objective.

Some people want to be the "Most Profitable" some want to be the "Biggest in Asset Base" and some just want to be a "Going Concern".

All 3 objectives have different approach.

Allow people who want to be the most profitable enjoy their exploits, let people who want the biggest assets base build their assets and leave people that just want to be a going concern enjoy their peace.

The business is still profitable, price of car hasn't reduce, cost of repairs isn't constant and fees for preventive maintenance isn't fixed so each investor should pursue his/her objective with passion.

If a driver doesn't want a dead car, you should be ready to pay premium. You can't pay for Economy seat and expect to fly 'First Class'.

Merry Christmas to Everyone.

Compliment of the Season.
