Dude, this response says a lot about how Nigeria is mismanaged. You want to tell me that it's extremely difficult for you to fathom that anything good has been done in the last 25 yrs of black rule in SA?

Forget that people have been lifted out of poverty, have proper housing, power, water & sanitation, a functioning social welfare system, improved literacy rates, universal healthcare, and have their basic human rights respected & protected.

I think what u want to see instead is govt building a new city (like Abuja). Well, I hate to break it to you but it's not govts duty to build cities. The govts duty is to create a conducive environment for the private sector to thrive, through GOOD GOVERNANCE. Then business will build the cities. And they have. Almost all our cities (nationwide) have expanded due to new developments. Just have to look at Midrand, Sandton, Centurion. Dude, Jhb & Pretoria are now basically one city because of the new economic developments that have sprung up in Midrand.

Anyway, seeing is believing. Here's SOME of the stuff in SA that wasn't there or have grown exponentially under Black rule - since you said you want verifiable facts.

1. Port of Durban (has become the busiest in Africa)
2. Sandton City (Africa's richest square mile)
3. Gautrain (first high-speed train in Africa)
4. Square Kilometre Array (world largest radio telescope)

5. Mandela Children's Hospital (only one in Africa)
6. World class FOOTBALL stadiums (7)
7. Constitutional Court (defender of our human rights)
8. New universities (including in Soweto)

The bolded is the real thing you did that is necessary for you.

The rest are just to augment what the foreigners had done already.

We all inherited colonial infrastructure, but we are maintaining it & building on it. Don't hate coz yours has now deteriorated. Here's more of what we've built.

You could only build one or two universities after 25 years yet none is among the best in South Africa.


Nigeria didn't inherit any world class infrastructures from the colonial master rather left us with mediocre infrastructures. You can not compare the infrastructures in South Africa with any other British colony because they built South Africa to their taste in order to live there forever. That can also be said of Algeria built to taste by the French because the intended making it France annex.


Just one university was built by the British in the whole Nigeria compared to South Africa who has many world class universities built in the 17th century. Same goes with your cities, transportation, economy, etcetera.

The difference is clear and not like deterioration here in Nigeria. We rebuilt the mediocre infrastructures to world class from the scratch.

See Lagos just few years after independence but see what we have done afterwards in the last two pictures.

As for me, I think it's better the Kenyan way, bcz it'll be easier to manage or upgrade the estates ...

Something you shld also know is that majority, almost all slums in Kenya are not owned by those who built those structures there...it started as temporary structures...

But at the end of the day, you see those slums turn out to be full blown communities. Does the Kenyan govt demolish slums in Kenya? In Nigeria, there is so much demolition of slummish parts of various suburbs.
