Guys me I don't give a cluster fvck about the two big cats... What's in for we kittens is what I am after.

Look at ISWAP in our backyard !

What's the backlash of America's withdrawal of troops from Syria on ISWAP ?
As much as this whole ISIS/ISWAP can be solely blamed on incoherent US policies, it is now our problem, and we need to stop begging cap in hand for aid and start doing something about it. I said it before in other fora, as long as Nigeria and the AU sit pretty and watch Libya continue in chaos, then we should continue to expect strengthened radical islamism across Africa. Especially now that the US is exiting, and the heat is turning up on them in Iraq and Syria. They will flood Africa and take advantage of the rife poverty, religious gullibility , and weak government institutions to make this continent their new headquarters. Winter is indeed coming to Africa.

Is it Nigeria that is not serious about arming up its military that should be complaining about how the US is pulling out troops from somewhere?. If we mean business, we will take responsibility and coordinate a military response for the security of this damn continent.

We did a fair job with the MNJTF, we can replicate that with the Algerians, Moroccans and Egyptians. If that N500 billion that is entering pointless social programmes every year is properly channelled into our military, then we won't care if the US pack all their troops to Mars.

the fear of lord Putin is the beginning of wisdom.
Syrian army has been downing unknown(usa)aircrafts with Russian destroyer s400. Putin backs asad led regime unlike USA who wants to dethrone him.
Russia declared Syrian airspace no flight zone which frustrated the fvck outta US ops.
USA chickened out of fear of general Putin. Nothing more nothing less.
If want no interference with any countries sovereignity, let them pull outta Afghanistan.
Then we might have a paradigm shift. As far as I know for now.
RUSSIA 1..USA 0.
Uncle as far as America is concerned they ain't gonna capitulate to the Russians. Yes Trump is a Nationalist and businessman who is always after what America is gonna gain financially tryna be the police of the world, where he feels they're ain't gonna be anything to be gained he sees no reason wasting American lives and resources for ego sake. But believe you me in the coming months the Americans are gonna double the sureties (Drone strike) in Syria.

This is what scares me the most
Not only you Bro, it scares the hell out of me too. The past decade has taught me that events don't happen in isolation, it's happens in cascades. The US never thought that arming Mujahideens against the Soviets in Afghanistan would lead to so much problems today, neither did anyone think removing Ghadaffi would lead to a crisis that is affecting Africa and Europe. Now, the US pulling out of Syria is going to trigger another cascade of events.

If Nigeria is still looking at this issue as a local insurgency, then let me say we are in for a long thing. When we begin to see another side of the Fulani militants, ISWAP, and a weaponized Shiite force, maybe we will begin to take things seriously.

Sorry for derailing o,just couldn't pass up an opportunity to vent my frustration at the state of affairs.

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, on Tuesday, organised a feast to celebrate the Christmas for officers and personnel engaged in the war against Boko Haram insurgents in the North-east.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the grand Christmas Lunch was held at the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), 105 Composite Command, Maiduguri.

Mr Abubakar, who was represented by Muhammad Muhammadu, the Chief of Policy and Plans, NAF Headquarters, said the gesture was to enable the personnel to celebrate the season in a happy mood.

He said: “It is our tradition to host celebration of festive season for officers and personnel to foster comradeship and appreciate your efforts in the war against insurgency.

“I commend your sacrifices and urge you not to lose focus; maintain high vigilance and combat readiness throughout the festive season.
“Our objective is to ensure lasting peace in the Northeast and the country at large,” he said.

Mr Abubakar lauded President Muhammadu Buhari over his support and provision of equipment to the service.
The air chief reiterated the commitment of the service to be disciplined and professional in the discharge of its constitutional mandate.

James Gwani, the Air Task Force Commander, Operation LAFIYA DOLE, explained that the feast was part of the CAS’s commitments to improve the welfare of the personnel.

Mr Gwani, an air vice marshal, added that the gesture demonstrated NAF’s leadership commitment to giving the personnel a sense of belonging and improvement of their well being to boost their morale.

According to him, the Christmas lunch is designed to enable personnel who are away from their families to celebrate the season in a happy and joyous atmosphere.

Mr Gwani reiterated the commitment of the service to defeating Boko Haram insurgents and restoration of peace to the region.
Also, Wing Commander Muhammad Umar, the Commander, 105 Composite Command, commended the CAS over his commitment to the improvement of personnel welfare.

Mr Umar disclosed that the NAF authorities had approved the construction of additional 30 blocks of apartments for service men and women, and another 10 bedroom apartments for officers as well as religious places of worship in the command.

EXCLUSIVE: 190 Policemen Mobilised For Boko Haram ‘Without Training’ Escape From Police Force

“Those are the names of policemen who were mobilised without any serious training to be sent to the front lines to fight Boko Haram who ran away,” said the source. “Nearly all of them are southerners and Christians; 96% of the total number mobilised are southerners and Christians too. This has raised so much dust and outcry in the NPF.”

At least 190 policemen being mobilized for the war against Boko Haram have fled for their lives.
Worried by the development, the Force Headquarters, Abuja, has ordered for the arrest and prosecution of the officers.
A security source familiar with the matter told SaharaReporters that the said officers were to be sent to battle without appropriate training, and also observed that nearly all of them are southerners and Christians.
However, the Police presented a slightly different account of the incident. A ‘Police Wireless Message’ sent from the Force Headquarters to MOPOLS in 22 states, which was seen by SaharaReporters, said the policemen were being trained at the Special Forces school, Buni-Yadi, where they absconded from. The MOPOLS were urged to treat the matter as “very important”.
The 190 officers may have been intended to be part of the group of 2,000, which the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, deployed to the North East late last month to fight Boko Haram.
Announcing the deployment, Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, had said the policemen comprised personnel of the Police Mobile Force (PMF) and Counter Terrorism Units (CTU), as well as those of the Force and the Sniffer Dog Sections.
Moshood also stated that the new deployment was consistent with Section 4 of the Police Act and Regulations.
The section, he said, “specifies the general duties of the Nigeria Police Force as follows: The police shall be employed for the prevention and detection of crime, the apprehension of offenders, the preservation of law and order, the protection of life and property and the due enforcement of all laws and regulations with which they are directly charged, and shall perform such military duties within or outside Nigeria as may be required of them by or under the authority of this or any other Act”.
“The deployment is also to support the strength of the military to defeat the Boko Haram insurgency,” he added.
“Before now, the Nigeria Police Force has on ground 47 PMF units (63 X 47 = 2961) in Borno State in addition to the Police Mobile Force (PMF) Squadron in Borno State. Twenty-six units (63 X 26 = 1638) on ground in Yobe State in addition to the Police Mobile Force (PMF) Squadron in Yobe State.
“Eighteen units (63 X 18 = 1134) on ground in Adamawa State in addition to the Police Mobile Force (PMF) Squadron in Adamawa State.”

@POLITICSNGR

Members of the dreaded Boko Haram Sect have reportedly burnt down a village near Chibok in Borno State.

PoliticsNGR learned that this attack, which is the second in three days, occurred in the remote village of Mbolakel, some six kilometres away from Chibok town, at about 11:45pm on Christmas Day. The insurgents injured at least three persons and razed the whole village.

Eyewitness reports reveal that the deafening sound of gunshots roused them from sleep and the smoke could still be seen from distance hours after.

"The heavy gunshots woke us up," one, who simply identified himself as Musa, said. “We saw the flames from faraway. Early this morning, we went to the Mbolakel Village; it was burnt down, three wounded, there was no loss of lives.”

Three days ago, suspected insurgents attacked Makalama community, also near Chibok, and razed some houses.

"There was a directive from the IGP that all MOPOL squadrons should send one unit each for specialized training using Army SOP at the Nigeria Infantry Training School in Buni Yadi, Yobe state. These units will eventually be used to hold soft liberated areas in a new offensive planned next year. Its during the training that over 190 Mobile Police officers deserted. Each unit consist of 63 men and a unit commander.

Those that deserted cut across all mobile squadrons in the country but majority are squadrons from the south"

Squadrons in the North are dominated by Northerners, Squadrons in the Middle belt are dominated by Christian Northerners. Same way Squadrons in the South are dominated by Southerners. That's how it used to be. Mobilization into MOPOL squadrons are voluntary and you choose the squadrons you find suitable, no body is mobilised forcefully or posted to a squadron he never sign for.

We really need to stop ridiculing our gallant soldiers, while there may be a few bad eggs, we cannot use that as a yardstick to judge the entire force, many men are dying for the survival of this country, the least we can do is to support them.

I also noticed that some times, the reason why these men behave the way they do is because civilians fail to treat them with basic human dignity. Even as a normal civilian, if a fellow civilian gives you rubbish attitude, won't you deck the guy a few hot slaps to reboot his brain?, how much more men who are trained with military malice.

Abeg, the picture guys should spice this place up, it's getting rather uninteresting here.
