SOLDIERS are given subsidies when they go shopping, take flights and enroll into higher degrees of learning, even in Housing.
A US SOLDIER is well treated with respect and dignity, same accorded to the US top politicians and medical Doctors.
I guess you know all these.

If a US MILITARY personnel files for a distant relative to relocate to the US, it is rapidly honored without hesitation. Their attention is always a priority.
U also have the right to withdraw your services from the US military when you deem necessary unlike the Nigeria system where I heard people are even threatened to stay put until 10years

Uncle, hope you know it depends on the location? If you stay in places like Youngstown or Toledo in Ohio, Indiana(surburb environs) ,or Frankfurt in Illinois, Texas is still manageable. But that 1k + in California or Minnesota can not go anywhere. Studio apartment In those areas are like 700- 850$. So how much do you've left?

This thread is misleading , Have you considered their standard of living, by the time house rent, food, bills crop up . The soldier would have nothing. Housing on its own is a big issue in the states. Do you know how many US veterans are homeless after serving their fatherland.
