Hi Guys, been following this for a while now and I must say this is a great forum, the flow of ideas and information is just massive.

Please I have an enquiry to make. How much would my spouse need to score in the ielts if I want to claim the additional five(5) points to boost my score?

Seniors in the house please assist.

To claim Partner points, your spouse must score a minimum of 6 in each band of IELTS or 50 in PTE.

In addition to the above, your spouse must satisfy the following:
My partner is aged under 45
My partner can obtain a suitable skills assessment (that is not for a Subclass 485 visa)
My partner has a skilled occupation on the same skilled occupation list as you.
Goodluck.

Kudos to everybody helping out in this thread.

I am 29 years of age (30 points). BS.c degree holder (15 Points). 45 points on ground for now.

My questions and challenges are.

1. How can I claim the 5 points from spouse when actually I am yet to marry ?. Anybody with a smart game plan for that should share.

2. I have been in IT (Computer Engineer/ Network Administrator) field for like 4 years now but it's hard to provide evidence for most because everything is just scattered. I had a 6 months work experience with Alpha-beta during my Industrial training program in their Information System department. I was active mostly in their Computer Engineer and Network Engineer units.

I went to learn fully Laptop Engineering work at a place in computer village and spent 1 year there. Only company name was registered there and not a limited company. Any way to claim this work experience ?

I worked personally for myself as a computer engineer with unregistered office for like 2 years but this is hard to prove.

I just started an office work with a reputable IT firm in similar IT field this Dec and can wait for atleast a year to gather more work experience before appling.

I read somewhere where someone said that it is possible to manover ones way to claim he/she engaged in partime job alongside Unversity program throughout stay in Unversity. Can anyone with a smart game plan share with me ?

Thanks in advance.

The journey to write and pass my English test exam has begun.

For the 15 points BSc, did you finish from a tier 1 university?
1. Don't start anything you can't finish. CO may request for evidence(s) you wont be able to provide in order to substantiate your marriage claims. Howbeit, get married legally.

2. You need documents to claim employment points. Get your supervisors to write a reference letter for each of the job roles. Also, you may need tax clearance for the jobs too. If you are unable to get the reference letters, it will be fine if you wait till you have a year experience but remember that 1 year experience is zero point.

3. I have no idea of the part time school thingy...other experienced individual can provide response.

My first degree is from UNILAG. That should be part of the tier 1 universities ?.

My lack of verifiable substantial work experience is really a set back. I will need to chill more with my current work.

Thanks for your response.

Finally am here. Compliments of the seasons to everyone. I belong to the canada FSW platform here on nairaland, I have done assessment for me and wife plus I have written ielts to be out hopefully today.

But some how, my mind have been drifting to Aussie don't know why. 2019 must be my (our) year in Jesus name.

Am in Academics, Poly lecturer to be precise. I have masters degree in Petroleum engineering and undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering.
Age is 32
4 years teaching experience.
Anticipating a good ilets score but let's just put a 10 point on that.
Wife is :
She's an administrator with 4 years
Please any advise?

I will suggest you try Engineering Australia and nominate Mech Engineer.
Seeing that you have no experience in engineering, you won't have enough points to compete for 189 however you will be able to roll with 190 or 489 but strong advantage for 489
Age: 30 (turns to 25 the day you turn 33, hope that's still far away)

With ACS, The matter complex but let me try to explain.
You need to have more than 3 years of exp for a good chance for a positive assessment.
Lets say it turns out postive and they only deduct 2yrs, the 1yr left equals 0 point.
Please refer to their website for the Assessment matrix so you can understand the above better.

In my opinion, kindly consider going in as an electrical engineer w/o experience. your profile is good for 190 and 489 .
only caveat is a water tight CDR so you don't get Engineering Technologist from EA

Age: 30
Ed 15
Eng 20 (no stories)

Good day everyone, having gone through this thread from part one, I discovered no state is nominating Economists. Please are there other occupations I can nominate putting into consideration that I have a degree in Economics & the only experience I have so far is in teaching (over 5years experience ) of which I can only provide evidence for 2 years as I was mostly paid by hand and also 2 years experience as human resource manager. Please gurus kindly help.

Thats risky. He can leave the main cash in his Nigerian account and transfer to his Australian bank account anytime he wants using www.sendvalu.com
All he requires is a Nigerian debit card and an Australian bank account even if he is not longer in Nigeria.

I just discovered this thread today.

I need help please. I studied English language (education) - UNN. Other than approximately 2 years teaching experience which includes my NYSC and teaching practice experience, I have about 8 years experience in administrative functions and I am confused on what to apply for under the skilled occupation in subclass 189.

In a nutshell, my certificate I'm education doesn't confirm with quality experience in another field (administrative officer). I need advice on if to apply for education using just 2 yrs experience or look for something similar to admin although I don't remember seeing admin in the occupation list.

Please advice me professionally while considering the points that would be accrued to me

Age : 30points
Degree : 15 points

Good evening everyone. It's almost yr end and would like to thank everyone who has genuinely of help in this race. So much tnx to u all. I know 2019 holds good things for us in Jesus name. Amen!

I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO USE THIS MEDIUM TO BRING TO UR NOTICE A SCAM AMONG US. HIS NAME IS AKACHUKWU.

SOME TIME AGO I CAME HERE LOOKING FOR HELP WHICH I GOT. IN THE PROCESS I STARTED COMMUNICATION WITH THIS MAN. WE AGREED I CONTRACT MY CDR WORK WHEREIN I WOULD PAY PART AND THEN BALANCE HIM AFTER EVERYTHING.

INITIALLY WE AGREED I PAID 15K UPFRONT. LATER THIS MAN BECAME SO DESPERATE THAT I SHOULD PAY HIM AS HE HAD ALREADY STARTED THE WORK. I SENSED SCAM IN HIM JUST THEN HE BEGGED ME HE NEEDED TO WRITE PTE AND I SHOULD HELP HIM WITH 30K UPFRONT AS AGAINST THE EARLIER AGREED 15K(for work wey him never even start). I DECIDED TO EXTEND A KIND HEART AND BEHOLD I MADE SOME CALLS COZ I DIDN'T HAVE IT. I SENT THIS MAN 30K!

ALONG THE LINE, HE SUGGESTED ANOTHER OCCUPATION TO ME THAT I SHOULD GIVE IT A TRY.
HE TOOK HIS PTE AND SMASHED THE 10PNTS HE SAID HE WAS AIMING AT AS HIS APPLICATION HAS BEEN IN THE POOL FOR ALMOST A YR.

FAST FORWARD A MONTH LATER, THIS MAN NEVER TALKED ABOUT THE MONEY HE OWES ME.

I CALLED HIM ONE DAY AND THE IDIOT SAID TO ME THAT THE 30K SERVES THE NEW OCCUPATION IDEA HE GAVE ME. JEEZ!!

SO I ASKED HIM..... DID WE MAKE ANY AGREEMENT ON THAT? NO WAS HIS REPLY. AFTER MUCH TALKS HE FINALLY AGREED HE WILL PAY. TILL TODAY THIS MAN HAS REFUSED TO REFUND EVEN A PENNY FROM MY MONEY.

I TOOK TO THIS THREAD TO WRITE THIS COZ I KNOW HE IS CURRENTLY SCAMMING OTHERS AND HE WILL SCAM AGAIN!

BEFORE I FORGET, I MADE HIM A REFERAL EARLIER AND TO MY SUPRISE THE LADY I REFERRED TO HIM STOPPED THE WHOLE THING. TILL TODAY SHE NEVER TOLD ME WHY SHE STOPPED. I GUESS SHE WAS QUICK TO SEE THINGS.

AKACHUKWU! BEWARE I DID NOT DASH U MY MONEY. BUT UNLESS UR RIGHT SHALL U ESCAPE WHAT BEFALLS ON U. I HAVE PLEADED WITH U AND U TOOK NO WARNINGS. UR THE MAN I TRIED TO HELP AND U TURNED BACK TO STAB ME.

If you are a teacher, why do you want to nominate economist? You can nominate secondary/primary school teacher which is what you currently do.

Check AITSL website for assessment requirements. If the school you worked with can state that you were paid in cash and can provide payslip, you should be good to go.

You can also nominate Human resource manager. Check www.anzsco.com/search for more details.

What type of admin job do you do? facilities, warehouse etc? this can help narrow your search. Also go through the list of jobs on www.anzsco.com so as to determine the best to fit into your admin job. The best option you have is using your admin experience, however the downside is that the assessing body will deduct some of the years of experience because the job is not related to your qualification.

Also note that your degree is 10 points cos UNN is a tier 2 uni and your course is a 4 year course.

The reason I wanted to nominate Economist is that both my BSC and MSC is in Economics, I also have a professional certificate in International Strategic Management. Can this fly with Human Resource Manager as I only have 2years working experience in the field.

Bellong, may God bless you for starting this thread. To all the gurus in the house, more power to your elbow.
Gurus, please I need guidance. These are my current details:
Age: 37
Ed: I have an HND in Mechanical Engineering (I graduated in 2009)
Work experience: I completed my ND (Mechanical Engineering) in 2002, and got a job as an engineering technician in a Manufacturing firm since 2004. So, my current working years is 14 years.
I have gone through the list of eligible skilled occupations, and intend to apply as an engineering technologist. I intend to apply under visa subclass 189. Currently, I am married with 3 children. Wifey is 29 years, and is a business woman.

Please, is visa subclass 189 the right one for me?
Is applying as an engineering technologist the right application?
Please give an other advice. Thanks ahead.

Good day boss,

Age : 25pts
Degree: 10pts
Experience: 15pts
English: 20pts (to aim for)

Total: 70pts

Is 189 right for you?
Absolutely

Is the occupation right?
Engineering Technologist is a skilled level 1 occupation, you will need a bachelor's degree to successfully access for any skilled level 1 occupation.
Secondly, Engineering Technologist is quite competitive.

The bright side
You can nominate "Fitter" otherwise known as "plant mechanic" with your degrees and experience in the manufacturing field.
Fitter is much less competitive and gives you the opportunity to go for 189 and 190 or 489 with either Northern Territory or South Australia in case you get 10points for English.

Happy new year to us all. It shall be a year of speedy fulfilment of dreams.
luvluvluv, I can feel your pain, but, can you try and eliminate that last statement? God forbid you being roped in into what you don't know. Please, do that.
Probably, it's been suggested to you that CDR is something you don't need contractors to do for you, but you might have been busy and thought creating time will be difficult. You may now go ahead and do it now, there are many Barkis here that will be willing to help you.

Finally, if that person reimburses your money, great! However, if he doesn't, do take heart and move on.
The best part of the story is for him to see you dinning with Morrison. Have a beautiful year ahead.

It's not too difficult to write cdr but for time and chance.
I got an offer from some reputable cdr writer even at less than this man charged me. I thought I should patronize him coz we're one Nigerians and his plea to give him the money for PTE. This is why we keep being labelled scams all the time. And a man like this wants to travel abroad with scam money? If he ever makes it there what's d guarantee he will reap the fruit of that land?
