Lol.. exactly my thoughts bro. The only typical Nollywood comedy I know is that of Mr ibu and Co.


From the brief plot I read there it's enough to tag it a Thriller or Drama. Well what do I know?

After watching the first 22 minutes like five days ago.
I decided to give it another trial.
I have the fully sign language subtitled version so I am definitely not missing anything.
I am presently watching a quiet place.
I watched till the point where he took his new born and his wife to the underground bunker and lost interest again.


I think I can watch Bird Box from now till 9pm start to finish without getting bored.

It is called "PREFERENCE"

Like I reiterated earlier, Birdbox would appear average or poor to you if you've previously seen HAPPENING(mother earth releases a spore that causes humans to kill themselves) & A Quite place(monsters/aliens invade and hunt humans via sound, so everyone has to be super quiet),The two concepts are combined in Bird Box, but with a supernatural twist. But for someone who hasn't seen any of the aforementioned movies, it would seem fantastic.

And for alexistaiwo who said a quite place was boring & pedestrian, I know you didn't mean it. Haba!!, A quite place was a masterpiece. If you truly watched the correct subtitled version of the movie, you would observe that the thrills, suspense & jump scares employed by the movie works so well because the audience gets to experience the same issues as the characters onscreen. You need to be very, very quiet in that film, so that movie is practically silent and devoid of dialogue, so when loud noises happens, one literally jumps out of their skin, knowing fully well that something is about to go down. But there’s no equivalent for the blindfold. Yes, I imagine that it would be terrifying to run through the woods or float down a river in a canoe while blindfolded, but we, the audience, are not experiencing that. And because the demons are actually not seen, it’s not like we see anything horrible creeping around these blindfolded people. So, the effect isn’t the same.

For the ending of Bird Box, I wasn't really expecting a happy ending. Unlike a quite place, whose ending wasn't that certain, if Emily Blunt & the kids will actually survive the alien onslaught towards the end of the movie, thus keeping us the audience in suspense & expectation of a sequel.

A Quiet Place was one of my favorite films of the year, and I just don’t think Bird Box rises to half its level. With that said, Bird Box was pretty solid in its own right & far better than The Happening, Netflix has Sandra Bullock to thank for making this concept work at all, as without her, I don’t know if this would have been worthwhile at all.

This movie is my best nollywood movie ever. The only movie that comes close to this is wedding party 1.and this one beats it hands down.

This is my second best movie of 2018 after avengers infinity war.
Phyno killed me with that outro at the end of the movie.

My few worries is that they they featured too many igbo language,am quite worried bout this because my Hausa and Yoruba brothers won't get to get multiple orgasms and vibes as I got. Hope the subtitles are available for ur understandings.

Mehn who said we can't? We have many potentials and future and the capabilities of ruling Africa if not the world, what we have to do is to only dare and believe.

My other few cons are that it was quite predictable, but believe u me many improvements will follow the sequel.
This movie truly showcases our atmosphere, attitude, environment, and culture of Nigeria.
Damn it that I hated this beautiful gem of a Genevieve. And here right now, paradigm shift has fallen on me towards the lady.
Damn it I love this movie and am proud once more of my country and clime.

A very intelligent & fresh concept coupled with an incredible directing by Steven Spielberg .The plot, cinematography, and acting were topnotch, it was truly an excellent futuristic thriller.

What a crafty, involving & suspense filled action thriller, that tends to keep it sense of mystery, from start to finish. Liam Neeson was exceptionally brilliant, he made his role so so believable.

Nice movie, it was engaging.
I was hooked till the end.

Kept thinking some actions can't be realistic in the movie, but human can do anything thing to survive if there is no other way out, (like drinking piss if there is not water or eating a fellow human being if there is no food.)

My advice only watch it on Netflix. Its an interactive movie. You get to make choices in the movie.

Although wedding party was good but black November is my second best nollywood ever after lionheart.
