A quiet place.

The first 55 minutes was dull and pedestrian.
7/10 for the astonishing and spectacular ending.

Perhaps where it was located was not always a forest. Perhaps, desolation made the place that way. Perhaps grass and trees grew around the place because nobody cut them because of what was happening at that time.

First of all, my hand is itching typing this cos I wish I can type all at once.
This movie is my best nollywood movie ever. The only movie that comes close to this is wedding party 1.and this one beats it hands down.

This is my second best movie of 2018 after avengers infinity war.
Phyno killed me with that outro at the end of the movie.

My few worries is that they they featured too many igbo language,am quite worried bout this because my Hausa and Yoruba brothers won't get to get multiple orgasms and vibes as I got. Hope the subtitles are available for ur understandings.

Mehn who said we can't? We have many potentials and future and the capabilities of ruling Africa if not the world, what we have to do is to only dare and believe.

My other few cons are that it was quite predictable, but believe u me many improvements will follow the sequel.
This movie truly showcases our atmosphere, attitude, environment, and culture of Nigeria.
Damn it that I hated this beautiful gem of a Genevieve. And here right now, paradigm shift has fallen on me towards the lady.
Damn it I love this movie and am proud once more of my country and clime. cool

I am already getting annoyed, to get supposed "blockbuster" Nigerian films online(piracy or paid) is very difficult(still searching for 'rita Dominic's '76 movie) . After getting the "blockbuster" , the film will develop one k-leg or another.

Nollywood should just get the scheme of making better movies right before trying to go international. Lionheart was too dry. I was expecting a storyline that would depict the title.

First off, there can be no happy ending. What is to stop the crazies from busting the blind school/orphanage at the end?

Secondly, there is no way in hell you can drive a car in a littered road with only sensors when everyone is blind. The sensors would be overused and useless because it would sense everything around it. The road was littered. With cars, bodies and trash.

Also, the black guy felt like a rapist. Watch the film again and see how he was always asking Sandra bullock jamb questions and staying very close to her (before she gave him green light by allowing him to touch her belly). Pervert. What is sweeting the guy in touch a pregnant woman's belly. A woman he did not impregnate.

Sandra bullock did not lose her pregnancy in the car accident with her sister.

Rowing a boat down a stream or river is difficult with both eyes. Now, I'm to believe it was done while being blindfolded? Lol...and also, hearing is impaired once one enters water.

Then there is the ridiculous monsters that remained mysterious throughout the film. WHICH OTHER MONSTER FILM HAVE YOU SEEN THAT NOTHING ABOUT THE MONSTER WAS REVEALED? WE DIDNT SEE THE MONSTERS. THE ONLY THING WE KNOW IS THAT YOU COMMIT SUICIDE IF YOU SEE THEM AND CRAZY PEOPLE ARE ITS MINIONS.

Genre : Action, Thriller

This was basically the female version of THE PUNISHER & JOHN WICK. There was absolutely nothing spectacular or memorable in the plot, the twist & trills were no were to be found, and finally, the movie ricks of enough plot holes(makes me really wish I didn't know what plot holes are), which I wouldn't want to discuss for spoilers sake...

So for me, approximately it's a solid 5, because of the action scenes, it could've been worst though.

LIONHEART - 6/10
Just a basic storyline. No Wow Effect. Not to talk of the 60% dialogue in ibo with no subtitle. The movie is basically average. Friends who even went to the cinema to watch regretted wasting their money.
Dont get me started of some stupid and unrealistic scenes abeg

KING OF BOIZ stands out as the Nigerian Movie of Year.

When you said you had a lot to write, I honestly expected some very deep flaws. I respect your opinions nonetheless and I will try to explain some parts to you.

1. About the no-happy-ending. It is a horror film so why would you even expect a happy ending? What makes the film even scarier is the thought that eventually, the remaining people on earth will either be crazy or blind. In fact, humans are gonna evolve and children are probably gonna be born blind in order to survive, or they may even be blinded artificially when they are born. Again, it's horror.

2. I don't have facts to back up your second point and if you do, please share. What I do know is that even self-driving cars use sensors to navigate easily so I wonder why it would be so difficult to drive with only sensors.

3. Seriously? This is a point?! Well, I didn't think the black guy behaved oddly at all and I'm seeing this for the first time on your post. I think he was just caring for a pregnant woman and I don't think there was anything wrong with that.

4. You may be right on this one. Maybe Sandra Bullock should have lost the pregnancy in the accident but then again, I don't think pregnancies are easily lost like that na. It wasn't as if something hit her belly in the accident so this point too may not be that valid.

5. This one is hard to debate and you have made a valid point. I don't have facts but I assume it would be extremely difficult to row blindfolded. Although, I think they were instructed to "follow the currents", no?

6. Yes, this is the one I've been waiting for. You obviously didn't understand the concept of the "monster", did you? The monster takes the form of your deepest fear or your deepest regret such that it drives you into a severe depression that you'd instantly take your own life. It may not have a defined form since everyone's fear and regrets may not be the same. Also, the fact that it does not have a defined form is exactly why it may be impossible to kill. This was also why it was easy to wipe out almost everyone from earth. If you have seen the 2017 movie adaptation of Stephen King's novel "It", you may understand better where they got this "monster" idea.

7. Finally, there's hardly any "original story" anymore. Most of the movies we watch now are recycled. Blue Jasmine was recycled from A Streetcar Named Desire and it received critical acclaim. So many other movies like that.

I am not saying Bird Box was a perfect film, I am only saying that I prefer it to A Quiet Place and I'm gonna write about the flaws of AQP soon.

I'm Not ready to bash them, it's a 4/10 movie.
It felt like i was watching a filler episode.
It's nowhere near being Netflix standard, more like an African magic movie standard, despite all the actors

1. The 'crazies' exist outside and the building was covered.
2. It sensed only cars and roads because that's what the car was meant to sense. Notice they drove over I think two bodies, so the car does not pick up bodies, just other cars and roads.
3. He had a wife too and it was virtually the end of the world. Making a judgement at that time was practically useless. The same reason MGK and that police chick fúcked.
4. Unbelievable things happen all the time. Cancers remiss, people lose their HIV positive statuses e.t.c. I know a child who drank JIK mistakenly. The mother went ballistic but that baby is still alive today. The doctor called it a miracle. Not everything can be explained.
5. I don't know about rowing so.....
6. There is no horror movie rule book where it is stated that you need to show what is killing off the characters. So.....
7. All art is practically derivative of an older one. You might also say A Quiet Place is similar to Hush or Don't Breathe since sound also plays an important role in both movies. You can also say it is similar to Signs by M. Night. Not saying it is not similar, just saying there is nothing wrong in it being similar.

Every movie has its flaws. The real question is despite these flaws, did you enjoy the movie or you are just critiquing for another reason?
