You think Madrid is an average team that you expect kovacic to start ? You are just one of those Epl fan boys who think every team is crappy like them ,you expect him to bench Modric abi or world class toni kroos ? What type of weed are you smoking ??

You won't know vrsaljko because you don't watch football and you only check live scores

A first team right back at athletico Madrid is a world class player before his move to inter Milan

Stop saying what you don't know about others player if you want to stick watching Epl only

You are not making a single sense okay .

Croatia don't have big names in football like some others team ,but that doesn't means they don't have better players ,from goal keepers to strikers they are complete .

Croatia are average but they can boast of at least 6 world class players

How many world class players can your eagles boast of ? None

they don't have big names in football but they are all world class....can you see you are not making sense? As far as football is concern, All big names are world class and all world class have big names. Apart from modric, there is no world class player in that team.

You can see that you are the one who lack understanding

You can't compare the name of Croatia to Brazil name or even England Argentina ,Croatia can't be a favorite to win a competition where such country is there

Now to make it simple for you ,Modric kovacic mandzukic perisic vrsaljko lovren brozovic rakitic are world class ,you can argue with your key pad .

Stop dreaming okay .

No super eagles player will make Barca first team or even athletico and you see Modric as the only world class

We matched the Croatians in the middle.

How does that screen shot support the claim that we matched them in the middle? Do you mean we matched them in numbers? Because we surely didn't when considering the aspects of the game that matter.

Take for example the heat-map showing the areas of the pitch that saw the most action. You will notice that the majority of the red patches (the hottest spots) are in the Nigerian half of the pitch. Also see the red and yellow patches on the right of the Nigeria side (left of Croatia) is evidence of the corporal punishment Krmaric was meting out to our dear Shehu. grin

Even the comments by the the team reporters mentioned each of the short comings which we have also stated here.

My only surprise about this is that we were surprised they were better than us and now we even think we are their mate in football. lol Wonderful

Nigerian players are world class yet, the last time a Nigerian won APOTY was Kanu Nwankwo in 1999/2000

Without going to the length of watching the entire match again, the highlights on fifa.com only include one attacking move by Nigeria and the shot at the end of it wasn't worthy of any description.

I will clarify what i meant. I wont say they totally dominated Nigeria but what i will say is that they were NEVER in danger in that game, we were on numerous occasions. In the end they did what they had to do to get the win and I think had they needed to step up their game they would have been able to do so. Yea?

So we lacked fight and attacking invention. That is correct.

But at no time were we dominated by Croatia. We were never really in danger in that game either. They did not create anything.

We stifled them. We just did not have the firepower going forward.

I used to be active until I realize Patriotism is rather understood as Fanaticism on this Thread..... To some extent - its becoming Extremism.

It does baffle me when having a contrary Views is tantamount to hating, critiquing national Players is rather believed to be; bringing them down.

Most times, you gonna need to re-watch a Match cos Comments here would make you think - you are seeing a different Match that nigerian Player(s) is involved. You will be completely marvelled with the Updates; if you ain't seeing the Game.

Every time, we must dig out Beer-Palour Stats from lame Sites to prove our Players are as performing as Messi and the Ilks. Every time..... Our Players must be the standout Performers on the Pitch. Why do we feel happy from feeding ourselves with Lies, unverifiable Facts?!

Ain't it too lame comparing Mbappe with any of our present young Guns?! Ain't it a peak of foolery thinking Onyekuru will bench Mbappe at PSG?!

I saw the Arsenal last Match and wasn't impressed with Iwobi's Performance at all. Wanted to call him out for squaring a Pass to Laca instead of shooting on Goal for a Rebound - but the fear of being tagged an Hater who wanna bring him down made me to desist.

I do not have thick skin like Mickael2, Forgiveness, elyte89, Komekn, Curtisaxel7....... Hence I decide watching from the Sideline but never abandon like goldfish80 or Mujtahida.

Well, the game didn't end 0-0. We were a goal down in the first half, showed no fight in the second half to get back in the game. Went 2-0 down, still showed no fighting spirit or will to get a goal back, no real chances created.

My brother, don't get caught up in the illusion that we kept Croatia at bay because we made errors.
When you are a goal down, you fight to bounce back in the game. You don't play to cancel out the opposition at 2 goals down. That is small team mentality.

We lacked attacking invention, no creativity. That was the problem. You don't score when you don't make chances.

No one is saying, we are a world class team but at no time, were we dominated by Croatia. On another day, that was a drab draw.

Watch the game again with no commentary. We were solid for most of it.

nobody is delusional here bro...it is a fact, those SE players I mentioned are capable if given the chance.
And am not opining that SE are world class, my main point is they are not average as some people here made us to believe. No be the same SE qualify from the group that consist of Algeria, Cameroon and Zambia to bag a WC spot and some people are demoting them for some overrated Europeans. SMH

Your statement was very bogus. You just implied that Mikel Obi, Ndidi and Samuel Kalu can walk straight into Real Madrid, Barcelona and Inter Milan respectively, and bench Modric, Rakitic and Ivan Perisic.
You don't have to go overboard and make ridiculous statements just to counter arguments, especially online in a forum where people from all works of life and background visit.
You can say stuff like this when you're addressing your friends who can tolorate you, but not in public.

Has your world class mandzukic ever score 30 goals in a season?...
Naija players are trying, they are not class but calling them average is just over the board.
As a true fan,we ought to keep supporting them through thick and thin and not bashing and trashing them. We are Nigerians for God's sake.

You know Seychelles can also say this. They can make claims that they were up to par with the Super Eagles, after all, we didn't score them from open play.
The first goal credited to Musa by some was actually an own goal from their goalkeeper and the other 2 goals were from set pieces.
Deep down, we know Nigeria was never in trouble in that game, at no point did we feel under pressure.

Now let's apply this same sense to the Croatia match. You feel we nullified them when in reality we offered nothing and at no point did the Croatians feel the game was swinging in our direction.
We played with no urgency, Mikel Obi who most people thought was the creative hub of the Eagles couldn't orchestrate anything. We offered no threat from open play nor from set pieces.
I have never seen a good team go a goal or 2 down and they aren't throwing the kitchen sink at the opponent to salvage something.

It felt as if our game plan was to loose 2-0.

Why did you bring up Kovacic, Vrjlasko and Loveren ( asking about his Liverpool form) and their clubs respectively, if you didn't mean actually mean “club“?

Bros why you dey lie ?

So if them call top club you for each leagues you go call Leicester udinese leganes ?

Lol

You tell me... when did playing for a top club become an indication of being world class?
When your darling Claudio Bravo was at barca,he was hyped as the best goalkeeper in the world severally .He joined man city and became bang average!. Thibaut Courtois has moved from being the world best goalkeeper at Chelsea to being bang average at Madrid.. Radamel Falcao went from being world class at athletico to bang average at man utd and Chelsea...There are several other examples...

Those players aren't playing at top clubs but they are playing at a top league and based on current performance, they are well above average...
