I've ordered already on Sunday 30/12/2018but the status is ORDER IS STILL WAITING FOR FULFILMENT.
I think by now the shipping process should have started.

Re Redmi being a subbrand, what if xiaomi are thinking of pushing the mi series to the limelight?

It's a known fact that redmi series are the most successful xiaomi series and the mi series have been so underrated.

What if they want to focus on the MI series very well with this business idea while still remaining status quo with the redmi series?

Just another angle.
