Certitude:

You are funny. Rather there is no proof he is above 19.

When last did we produce a world class player?

These are the factors that hinder us.

We should stop pretending we have gotten it right.

We are shooting ourselves in the foot and hindering genuine young talents who need the opportunity.

That is my point.

Well I taught during my NYSC (infact I coached the football team) and I know what boys within the age grade of 16 look like.

By my experience, I tell you the boy looks around 19 in that pics.
And as such should be around 22 - 23 presently.

The boy does truly look young, no doubt, and will be around for a long time but I highly doubt he's true age is 19.

Hahaha grin Gradually you are coming down. I thought you said he is 25-26 years old?

See some times it can be difficult differentiating between a 16 years old and 19 years old boy. Some 19 look 16 and some 16 look 19. Various factors can responsible which range from diet, facial grooves, inherited features etc.

Growing up I looked 2 years older than my age. I was same height, or even taller, compared with boys who were like 2 years older than I was.

The bottom line is you do not have any valid basis to discredit Chukwueze's age. But I have one valid, solid and very reliable basis which is the MRI.

So * in ThegoodJoe's voice* "Finito".

See our problem. We have seen a genuine young talent that has gotten the opportunity and we are busy talking of one some where that doesn't exist.

Any geniun talent who is younger than Chukwueze should go try it out with the U17 or U20 teams.

Over 80% of my posts last night when Villareal took on Real were quotes from the commentators.
I must tell you they really hyped him so much yesterday.

Modified
And the commentators were not Nigerians.

bobobooge:

There is no proof he is truly 19. This is Africa.

Also we never learn. A player has barely played a full season we are over hyping him.
Where has all the hype gotten Iheanacho?
Maybe I have to pull up all the hypes on Nacho on this same thread just a few years back.

Media should allow Samu concentrate. He is still developing.

All he needs is consistence with what he did last night. With that, I will call him world class.

M7even:
I saw the almighty world class Marcelo arguably the best left back look confused, I saw Samu dispossess Marcelo with ease....

I saw the legend of Madrid, Sergio Ramos come support Marcelo to tame Samu.... As if this wasn't enough there was a point when it was Marcelo, Ramos and Casmiero all on him at the same time..

He is getting there, Samu is gradually getting ready to be next big deal in Laliga...

I only wish he remains in Villarreal for a season more..

I also noticed something about Villarreal and Nigerian players... They adapt easily there, when looking at a player like ike Uche.

I still feel Nacho would very much excel in a Spanish club like Samu is doing.

If you have the opportunity as a coach to bring one player from the 3 below to improve your team at the moment who would it be?

Nacho, Onyekuru, Samu

Nice, but a 7/10 rating for Agu would've been better, under most improved.

The guy is a typical destroyer but still has to work on his passing and on-the-ball movement. He kept on playing the ball back to the defence against Uganda.

Only a stupiid man would question Chukwueze's age. If u wanna know more about Chukwueze, ask guys who were in Michael Okpara Uni of Agric Umudike (MOUAU) and its environs (from government college to Gate, infact the whole of Ibeku). Chuks was at most 17 when he came up against me in MOUAU stadium in 2016 after his exploits in Chile. Looking at his small frame, I was full of confidence that I would easily keep him in check despite his pedigree, bkus Dude was clearly looking his teens and I was vidibly older though I was 22 going on 23 then. To cut long story short, the name Marcelo that I was fondly called then instantly eluded me in the pitch and I was a mere Echiejile before Chuks. Till date, my babe still taunts me for my shambolic displays that day, whenever the name Chukwueze comes up.

Just so u kno, Diamond Football Academy doesnt take players who are outta sec skul, otherwise u present ur original waec result for age verification. Birth certs can easily be doctored but not waec results bkus waec doesn't register candidates below 16, hence u would be required to add to ur age if u fall below the minimum age.

The kind of intensity u get with club Football u cannot get with national team Football.National Team Football are typically slower and more conservative than club Football.

Several factors are largely responsible:
1. Nature of oppositions are mostly weaker.
2. Players see FIFA window as a period of break from intensive club actions
3. Players play to avoid injuries
4. The nature of most pitches in Africa for eg do not allow for free flowing Football hence the use of so much energy to get the game going which reduces match intensity at advanced periods of the game.
5. Poor team play: You can only achieve intensity from all players if there is team cohesion. Ie all Players must be on the same frequency which is hardly the case for national teams.

I disagree especially when we look at the Chileans under Marcelo Bielsa and Sampaoli. They played with such aggressive intensity. If Guardiola or Klopp is coaching a national side, it is clear they will play with such intensity.

The problem is that most National teams are run by people without ambition to build fierce teams due to short-term goals. Win as soon as possible. You can see the Liverpool team is almost four years in the making and City three years.

It takes selection of players who fit the right system and time to gel. If the team has a long-term target, immediate small victories will not be a priority.
