If u wanna know more about Chukwueze, ask guys who were in Michael Okpara Uni of Agric Umudike (MOUAU) and its environs (from government college to Gate, infact the whole of Ibeku). Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze impressed when his side played Barcelona at the Camp Nou on 2 December and he will now get a chance to test himself against Real Madrid on Thursday evening.

Since then, Chukwueze's value has multiplied and the Nigerian is one of the players in Europe's top five leagues who has progressed the most this season, at least according to his market value.

The 2018/19 season started with the player being valued at around 2.5 million euros, though it now rests at close to 7 million, showing an increase of 180 per cent.

Chukwueze, as a result, has had the 11th highest increase in value this season as he has scored four goals in 13 games.

Villarreal tied the player down in the summer, placing release clause of 40 million euros in the 19-year-old's contract.

Location goes a long way in determining physiology, do you know that?

A 16-year old in Lekki looks distinctly different from a 16-year old in iyana-ipaja, same way a 16-year old in Bauchi will look different from one in Onitsha.


There is no certain look for a teenager. I know teenage girls that would pass for ladies in their twenties, Na when dem open mouth you go know say na pikin you dey follow talk.

I disagree especially when we look at the Chileans under Marcelo Bielsa and Sampaoli. They played with such aggressive intensity. If Guardiola or Klopp is coaching a national side, it is clear they will play with such intensity.

The problem is that most National teams are run by people without ambition to build fierce teams due to short-term goals. Win as soon as possible. You can see the Liverpool team is almost four years in the making and City three years.

It takes selection of players who fit the right system and time to gel. If the team has a long-term target, immediate small victories will not be a priority.

The Chilean side you mentioned go compare the intensity with which they played with top clubs in Europe.

The only time national teams can play with intensity close to club sides are at the advanced stages of major tournaments. By then the team would have built more cohesion having stayed longer in camp and played through the group stages.

You do not expect such intensities with WC or AFCON qualifiers where teams have barely 4-5 days in camp

And again I remind you that club Football is different from national team Football. Always have this vital fact at the back of your mind. Take this from the coaching angle.
