I was recruited alongside 9(8females and a male) other fresh and young graduates as Agricultural Journalist graduate trainees. We took up this offer because Agricultural journalism is a field in communication that has not really gotten attention and we felt gaining this experience will be a life changer for some of us.The company promised to train us and we were sent to their farm estate at Ijale Orile Abeokuta to gain firsthand experience in Agriculture so that when we write,we write with passion. On getting to the farm estate,we were turned to labourers. We started harvesting chilli pepper, basil ,sweet basil,we even planted thyme on a very long bed.The food was wack and we never ate with meat or fish till we left the farm.Young Agriculture graduates are on the farm and they r being used for hard and cheap labour and they are paid 15k all in the name of graduate trainee. In October,we were told to resume at Lagos office situated at plot 413B Celia's place,Omole Estate ,in order for us to continue our training. On getting to Lagos,we realised that the proposed training is a scam and we were actually recruited to market their frozen chicken called "Booku".We decided to stay and do what we could do simply because we were in it already and backing out wasn't easy.Along the line,we discovered agro-park is a worse place to work. The directors,hr and admin are all related and they run it more like a family business.Once you are not a family, you get insulted, pushed and used anyhow. We kept enduring and we got agro-park customers for the chicken even though it was a new chicken in town.We went from one trade fair to another marketing chicken. Those period were the worse of my life because we leave home as early as 6am and we come back around 9-10pm because of traffic on the island. In November, barely 3months into our training, On the 29th of November, Agro-park gave 5 of us certificate of participation and told us to go away for no reason. We werent queried, scolded or anything. Our Offer letter carries 6month training and we were released barely 3months for no reason.A director claimed two of us were released because they are introverts and also a girl was released because she is very young and might want to further her education and other silly and insensible reasons coming from a man of 50years.We were sent away and dismissed like a nobody. We weren't paid until after few days of our release. Agro-park had 5 different graduate trainee batches last year, the question is why do they keep doing graduate trainee and not permanent staff?.They keep using and rendering people useless. They just use you to achieve their aim at that time and once you have gotten them what they want, they let you go.This year, they have started with the graduate trainee again but in a tricky way. They keep changing their email address and they claim to be an Agric firm at ogba whereas they are at Omole Estate. I think it's high time we let the world know about this organization so that young graduates won't keep falling victim of their lies because their target are young graduates they can easily fool. The hr is a puppet who can't point out the ills of the organization as the head of human resources because he is a family member. A particular director is a man with a good name in the society but I keep wondering what he is doing with scammers and liars.Do not fall victim of their lies but they say experience is the best teacher. If you go to their farm, you will learn more about their lies, scam and evil acts. Their chicken outlet at Akiode junction shouldn't be trusted because there was a time spoilt chickens we're roasted and sold out to the public.I only pity people investing in an organization full of lies and deceit. Please avoided this company like leprosy because they will use you and make you useless. They can decide you work from 8am to 8pm,nobody can question them. Cc Rensh Yomie040 Johntitus
Useless organization I must say.It is one of the worse place to work in Nigeria..Young graduates that can be pushed up and down is their target. You get them enough clients in 2months,they tell you to go home. You can't even sue them for breach of agreement because you are not a staff yet. Scammers
This should be on the front page because they have started the recruitment process for this year trainee programme and more unemployed graduates will fall for the deceits. They need to be stopped. This use and dump method has to stop.

This is really crazy! When I saw their Graduate Trainee Program (GTP), I was laughing and at the same pitying young graduates that would fall into their hands. There's nothing like personal life wherever you are working. Could you imagine I left my 25k job for 15k all in the name of gaining experience in other fields? Let.me recap what these clowns told us then.. "we have rabbitry(and the rabbits were not up to twenty), poultry(the place I was working had over 7 thousand birds and these guys with their layers and broilers combined were not up to a thousand), fishery(this one made me cry. Nothing at all. I was even the one that set up the shield and harvested their first maggots), chilli pepper(enough of these cause the food is ALWAYS peppery), lemon grass, sweet and local basil etc. Thank God my former boss called me back after I left. Agro park claim they don't use people but believe me when I shout 'CHEAP LABOR'. There was a time we were even told to come on Sundays. Wéré people! All these things nah just for getting sense. Dem no dey tell man say rain dey fall ooo.
PS; All the things said are all way back in August 2018. Don't get it twisted. You might be a sycophantic individual that loves a$$licking and thus, like the place. Agro jibiti... Lol
I remember when I attended their graduate Trainee seminar in August last year. It was a three days training and self development programme where different people were brought to speak on different subjects at their Omole office.
I noticed that the population kept decreasing everyday of the programme till the very last day. What even made me attend the whole three days complete was first the Mega Chicken food wey dem dey serve everyday and the quality of speakers that came around.
The funny thing is that I made up my mind from the first day not to go anywhere or resume with them no matter what. I perceived the scam in the way they spoke and behaved.
Omo, after the three days seminar, I just packed my bag and baggages and disappeared o.
A graduate like me can never be used as a farm Labourer and be paid 15k monthly.
May God punish all scammers of young Nigerian Graduates.
My advise is for everyone to avoid this Agro Park people like a plague because they are big time scammers.
oladele97: O boy people eye don see things. I don’t think am that patient to be used like oop
what to do now?.This is some of us first work experience after nysc and we got this really bitter treatment. We just wanted to have something doing, the reason we stayed.

This is almost what is obtainable in almost all sectors in Nigeria industries, if you don’t want, others will gladly go for it. Yes its bad, Bt employment and bad leadership couple with terrible NLC; all they know is STRIKE, and our laws are also crappy, hence these things flourish.
U stayed that long in that job maybe because you hoped it will be better, bt it wasn’t. This company you criticize here today provide source of livelihood for some persons. This is not to say the evil act shouldn’t be addressed,bt to let you understand that the grass isn’t exactly greener on the other side. Don’t settle for less, if you can’t take it, leave early enough.
I know someone into farming, the person sacked all his graduate staff, his reason is that they don’t want to work or get their hands dirty, that they have some level of pride or entitlement because they are graduate, but they don’t realize how hard and dirty he had to work to get what he has. Today his farm is still doing well, with workers from Togo and Benin republic.

You are actually right. My Uncle had similar experience. His farm almost shutdown because the degree holders he employed dont want to get their hands dirty. He just kept paying salaries with less productivity, that's life anyway, na business owner dey suffer pass. Thank God for the casual staff who are really committed. Farm work is not easy o. i wont blame people, but farm is farm sha, one wont expect so much. My advice is, dont just jump to embrace any offer that comes your way.
But its so sad that there is nothing positive about this company. Is this video real, abi na setup or is there something we dont know?
