Hello Chris, we met in the students thread. I'm doing ERM too but I'll be transferring to Bonn Rhein Sieg next winter. ERM is not lucrative in Germany but you can easily get jobs outside Germany with it. Cottbus is a very sleepy town and there are no jobs here. Most students work in Berlin which is 2 hours from Cottbus.

I sent you a pm but would love to discuss some options here for people to read and learn from.

I remember you now, this ERM de fear me because is a management course and interdisciplinary. Bonn Rhein Sieg is in Nordrhein-Westfalen but denied me admission last winter.
Bro I want to know, won't it be possible to be studying the course and be learning some part time IT skills?
Re: Job Seekers Visa Germany by Chriswazo(m): 5:20pm On Dec 30, 2018
Normal lectures I believe start by 8am, and language preparatory is 7am, living in Berlin and being on the train for 2 hours is a herculean thing to do daily. Bamdex you don give me food for thought now, reply my pm

Hello Chris,

Replied your DM. This thread is meant for job seekers but I humbly request permission to drop some study tips. You can still stay in Cottbus and work in Berlin. ERM MSc. time table is quite flexible and you can also determine the number of modules you want to study per semester. BTU has a free language school. There are also affordable language schools in Cottus. Despite the distance to Berlin, working there is feasible due to their fantastic transport system and your privilege of free transport with your student ID. Nigerians are many here, you will feel at home.

It's either the 4,320€ or a sponsorship letter from a German citizen.

I want to know if the field of study matters.

Please I would really love some clearification. Is the 4320 euro the new student Blocked account requirement

Hello everyone,
I am creating this thread for some insight into this category of long term visa(6months) for job search. Please share your Experiences.

The job seeker visa for Germany is a Long-Term Residency Permit, which allows you to stay in the country for six (6) months and look for a job.
If at the end of the six (6) months you have found a place of employment, you will be given the Germany work visa or a Germany work permit and you will be allowed to work and live there.

Please note that having a job seeker visa does not allow you to start working immediately in Germany. It only means that you can visit the country and look for a job during your stay.

In order to obtain this visa, you need the following:

Be eligible to apply
Compile all the necessary documents
Fill out an application form and book your visa appointment

Eligibility of applicants
There are several criteria that you need to fulfill to be eligible to apply for the Germany job seeker visa. These are as follows:

a Bachelor of Master’s Degree from a German university or an equivalent foreign degree
Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in your related field of study

Show proof that you have sufficient funds to cover your stay during the time you are in Germany

Have travel or medical insurance for your entire stay in Germany or until you get your Work Permit

The basic rules of getting a job in Germany are:

1. Have at least a B1in german language.
2. Have a science, IT or engineering background.
3. Or irrespective of your course, make sure you learn skills like Java script, big data, python or Matlab. IT skills are well sought after here.
4: Enough cash to get by.

Please take the language skills seriously. Germans feels uncomfortable around you if you don't speak Deusch. Only the younger ones, 35 years and below speaks little English.
If possible, avoid cities in east Germany. Cities like Berlin and North Rhein Westphalia are great places to get jobs. But they are quite expensive.

Racism still exists in Germany/Europe. So you'll need a "thick skin" to survive.

Danke Schon. Tchuss.
Hello, please I graduated in 2015 with a background in chemical engineering and I am very good with JavaScript. Am I qualified?

Do you have to get the basic German Languge requirement before applying or can be done on arrival in Germany.

I don't know why we Nigerians derive plesure in scaring others from making attempts to be where they are, most annoyingly when it comes to travel!
If you like tell them that they need to be a living angel before they can succeed in Germany! Mind you that you are never God!! And uncountable number of people are working in different cities of Germany without these things you mentioned. Neither are you Job Center or Bundesamt!
Note: before you further talk less or none sense, I am a full legal resident of Germany!

Depending on what kind of work you want to go there to do, you might not need German language proficiency. For example, if you are going to look for an IT related job, most of the jobs are in English and so, you will not need to show German language proficiency. But also show that you are willing to learn the language when you get there because it actually helps!

Hello everyone. I am a medical doctor (4 years post grad) who has an appointment for a job seeker visa in July 2019. I have gone through the requirements needed. I have done A2 at Goethe but yet to do any official exam. Is it compulsory I do A1? Or just show them my evidence of completion as I intend to start afresh in Germany.

A blocked account is mandatory. This company (https://fintiba.com/) helps with some of the processes for the Job Seeker Visa application (eg: Blocked account opening and confirmation, Medical Insurance etc). It is a German company and not Nigerian so don't fear scammers lol. It is also approved and recognized by the German Consulate.

You pay the blocked account amount to them and they give you a confirmation letter that you can attach to your application. You can also pay for medical insurance on their site (The German consulate did not recognize AIICO Insurance which I submitted first, but accepted the medical insurance- Mawista- which you can find on the Fintiba site).

Booking an appointment was hard for me. You have to check every day and book as soon as you see an available slot. Some of the guys outside the consulate may be able to help.

As soon as you book an appointment, get all your documents ready before the day. I booked an appointement 2 months in advance.

After I had the interview and submitted my documents on the same day, it took them 5 days to get back to me. They asked me to get another medical insurance because AIICO wasn't accepted (then I went to Fintiba). After that, it took another 5 days to get my passport back.

You need to have the complete amount in your blocked account before the appointment date if not they won't approve your visa. That is your proof that you will have enough to survive while you are in Germany.

Thank you so much you have enlightened me so much and you have taken away all my worries and fears, i am blessed to come across such a tread.

why i was talking about the installment was that i have 3k euros and wanted to request for four months which will be 2880 instead of six months in case if i don't get it complete or i deposit the rest later.

but is there a way one can get „Verpflichtungserklärung“ (sponsorship letter) you can put me through?

and the appointment booking system has changed! If you haven't heard from them since February, definitely send an email to them at: info@lago.diplo.de
