1. the president himself will never hand over cash to anyone. even Abacha did not give anyone cash, personally, when visits were made;

2. not everyone is given a cash gift for various reasons. These include but are not limited to trust issues, level of relevance to the government, distance travelled by the visitor, reason for visit & if the person was invited among other reasons;


3. if the person was INVITED to see the president, the presidency is REQUIRED to cushion the cost of the person/people who answered the summon (especially when they come from outside Abuja and/or are not in the mainstream politics). the money given is not a bribe per se, but it can often be abused & misconstrued...

But, over 99% of those allegations are meant by the opposition just to discredit or distract the government. They will repeat an unfounded allegation Just to orchestrate it so that guillible ones will take it to be truth hook, line and sinker.
The best technics is to remain silent, for within a very little time everything fizzle out.
