House please help. I want to do WES evaluation for my MSc, but I am surprised to read on WES website, demanding for my West African Senior School Certificate and saying it must even be submitted directly to WES by the appropriate examining body for evaluation. WES even said no evaluation will be completed without the final secondary examination results. How can one go about that? How can I get WASSCE to submit my certificate for me? Please help

Ordinarily, I'd refer you to a page where this question of yours has already been answered like other seniors do to me but I will go ahead and answer since I've been snooping around looking for a question to answer just to remind myself I am still in this race and also to ascertain my own level of understanding. (Wow! What a long sentence. IELTS things grin)

So back to the question, just go to WAEC office (Yaba if you are in Lagos) and tell them you want to forward your result to WES. It is nothing new to them, people troop in there everyday for it. To save your time, go with two brown envelops, a colored print out of your scanned result, an affidavit, and some cash too (both for the processing fee and the waybill). Both DHL and Fedex will be there. Just pay them and collect the agent's number before leaving. They will pick it up from WAEC, waybill it and send you the tracking number.

Good Morning.

Plenty grammar, when you can just advise him/her to use ICES and avoid the hassle that comes with WAEC.

Hello All,

Honestly, I am personally sad about what this platform is turning to. This was my to go place when I was planning for Canada but it is gradually turning into a battlefield filled with insults. @Newmum and several others have expressed same. Where is the love? Where is the maturity? Where is the wisdom, understanding and respect for each other? Do we know that these might be those we will meet in Canada?

I am not blaming anyone but let us not destroy the efforts of the founders on this platform. Foreigners are watching and laughing at us. Have we seen the number of Asians getting PPR? How do we think they do it? They cooperate, help themselves, form a community and dominate wherever they go. the link below shows how many Asians get PPR so we have a sense of the harm we are doing to each other with our words. I thank God for PPR and would like to meet people(Nigerians) who believe in respect, love, compassion and dignity in labour. We need a reorientation. If educated people can insult themselves at every opportunity due to the socalled "freedom of speech" then its very sad. So what should the illiterates do?

Please, as for me, I am willing to network with anyone as we go on this journey to Canada. I have my PPR and we can form a dedicated "True" Nigerian group where we can have fun together, holiday together, help each other without expecting ANYTHING in return, share business and investment opportunities together, help search for work together, raise God or Allah fearing kids together, train our kids together, change peoples perception of Nigeria and other great things. It is not a platform for competition please. Its strictly for all I have indicated above. IT IS NOT A PLATFORM TO SHOWW OFF WEALTH OR INFLUENCE BECAUSE BLACKS ARE NATURALLY LIKE THAT. I WILL KICK YOU OUT OF THE PLATFORM ASAP.

Please send me a private message so we know ourselves. Please we will be using full names only on the plarform and you must show proof of PPR. This is to avoid distractions and to maintain focus on this journey.

Thanks for your understanding and pardon any typos.

Good afternoon.

Well, I do not think his question was about which body to choose. He said he wanted to evaluate his Msc using WES and went ahead to specifically asked how he'd go about sending his WAEC to them. Telling him to use ICES didn't just seem to be the appropriate answer as it might not address the actual concern in context.

Having said that, @Alobay, @55emem55 thinks it'd be better if you go with ICES instead except, of course, if you had a particular reason for choosing WES. I used WES myself. I sent them my WAEC; there was no request for scratch card then so things were a bit easier. I advice you go with @55emem55's suggestion.

Thanks @55emem55.

Pls send Ryan msterials to me Themmysure@gmail.com
vicnoshon:
Thanks boco2126 for this detailed write-up. Pls send me the materia-l vicnoshon@gmail.com

[quqote author=boco2126 post=73293040]On this IELTS issue...my two cents.

1. Stick to a FEW practice materials! The number of materials for IELTS that we see on a daily on this thread can be overwhelming. Try out only a few and stick to the one that resonates with you. Don't use ieltsliz, Jay, Cambridge, ieltsadvantage, road2ielts etc at the same time (some of these peope don't agree on the same approach and reading all can get really confusing). If you try one and it sits well with you, ditch others. Focus on that one and be a master of it. I almost got overwhelmed at some point, because l wanted to open every link or try every material l saw here. But l had to give myself brain oh.

2. Practise everyday. No excuses. Create the time. Even at work, you can use your lunch break to practise. Instead of listening to music or radio on your way to work, listen to your downloaded tips on writing, speaking, reading, listening. When walking down the streets, have an earpiece on (l hate this, but we can make sacrifices for one month abi?) and keep LISTENING. At weekends, practice speaking with your wife/husband, friend, son/daughter etc. Write out questions and tell them to ask you (under exam conditions). I finished a WHOLE 30 leaves notebook for listening practice (yeah l work an 8 to 5 and live on the mainland with my office on the island -remember, no excuses!). Always check your wrong answers and replay those portions and find out what you didn't hear properly. I used youtube for listening/speaking/reading.

3. There's this ielts expert too, one Ryan (cannot remember his surname) that l think is underrated. I used his tips for writing. He talks about 15 sentences max for writing. 3 paragraphs with 4 sentences and the closing paragraph should have 3 sentences. This keeps you in check and you already know what to write before the exam, all you will be waiting for on the ielts day is the topic given! I can share his materials if you drop your email address.
For writing, write letter and essays! Don't read what someone else wrote. Write yours too. Some people practise writing by reading another's work -WRONG! write yours too and compare. Minimum letters to write on different topics - 10. Minimum essays - 20. Revise your work and look for better ways to reconstruct your sentences. I suggest you write with pencil on your exam day so you can erase if need be.

4. For reading - use youtube. It also has a timer, so practice using the time and don't stop the timer or pause the video. The easiest comprehension in reading are the first two. Spend less time there. Say 5 mins tops for each. You do not need to UNDERSTAND nada. Just look at the instructions (very important), then the questions, then scroll through the passages for the answers. You need all your time for the last two passages. They are more technical.

5. For speaking - Be confident, relaxed and know your basic english and introduction (see ieltsliz). See this as an interview. We all attend interviews don't we? I got a list of 42 likely cue cards from ieltsliz blog (l think she said they change it every 3 months but she always update the cue card questions) and l practiced the 42 different topics and l always set my two minutes timer with my phone. You can be in the BRT or your car and practice this one, or when walking down the street or whilst doing chores at home, or lying down in your bed doing nothing (l did this. Some days, people will think you are going crazy because you are talking to yourself, but...who no go no know). One of the 42 questions l practiced was my cue card during my speaking test -something on my pet animal (l was wondering "madam why me? Animal kwa?" but because l had practised earlier, the examiner had to cut me off when it was two minutes. I just went on and on.

4. Lastly and certainly not the least...the place of PRAYER. I'm catholic, so when l saw the prayer to St. Joseph of Cupertino here, l made a mental note to say it. I started saying it every day from September till i wrote my exam on the 1st of November. I even added a 9 days St. Joseph of Cupertino novena with prayer and fasting which ended on the 31st of October (l'm that extra oh. I left no chances). I asked my family to add me in their prayers too. So, pray, pray and pray. Whatever works for you. Someone dropped one St. prayer here on financial assistance for POF, best believe l'll look for that prayer and do it too!

5. People have done it, you too can. Don't be discouraged if you have tried more than once. We don't give up on this thread oh. Being here has taught me a different level of selflessness and never say never spirit. People you don't even know are quick to help and empathise and l am still in awe of you guys.

6. Please drop your email address so l can send the Ryan materials to you.

This too shall pass!

All the best everyone and my apologies for the long post.

Hi friends! a quick question about when to get a gift deed. If I received a gift from my parents but this was after I received ITA. Would the fact that i disclosed I have sufficient funds to meet the minimum threshold on the EE application before receiving the ITA count as misrepresentation? Anyone who has got a gift deed done after receiving an ITA??

In my opinion i will say IELTS jay, reason being that his techniques helps you to speak at length on any topic presented in part 2. Jay advises from the perspective of an IELTS student. Note that he has taken the exams severally.

But Liz is more understandable, like she explains in layman's terms i.e trying to get the message across as simple as possible. She advises from the perspective of an examiner.

In summary, its advisable to combine both methodologies to pick out the best of both worlds.

Note, this is strictly my opinion

You have just spoken my mind.
Why wait till 2021? Who says these whole process wouldn't have gotten tighter with stringent rules then.
I'll advice bigwizzy001 to check other options of boosting CRS scores. Than registering for PGD at Noun. One of such option is learning French language.
