For a developing country growing at 2% with a 400Billion dollars economy, it's not that bad relative to other developing countries,it becomes very bad only when we consider the growing population and that is the only problem with the Nigerian growth at 2%.
Kenya on the other hand should be growing above 10% for the next 5years since they look up to South Africa and want to measure up with them in 5-10 years.
South Africa with the same population as that of Kenya has a 300 Billion dollars economy and is growing at 2% as well, at that rate you can't compare that Kenyan 8% to the current South African situation ( which is still way better).

Do you even realize how deeply divided Kenya is with regards to class. Why else are slums so prevalent in your country? Why else do NGOs make money off the misery of your people?? Kenya is a good country but like most African countries, it is only good if you have access to resources which most of your population don't. Simple NYS which Nigeria has been implementing since the 70s, your leaders could not keep their sticky fingers out of it. The project just died out like that.

Gdp depends on many sectors not just infrastructure like agriculture service manufacturing sectors e.t.c
But for all this to work well they need proper infrastructure

The strongest economies in the world have a excellent infrastructure to back up their economy

That is why i propose african countries should invest at least 20% of their gdp to infrastructure development
